We loved the older and individual style of this hotel, not corporate in any way. Has a spacious corner room, all facilities worked well. Some slight concern over a loose electrical socket near a window but there were plenty of others to use. It is slightly out of the way of the main attractions and a bit of a walk to say the Lincoln and Washington monuments but we knew this and are happy to walk a lot, so not an issue for us. Only other small gripe is that the hotel bar was closed for a private event our first night (of two), this really shouldn’t happen to residents and if it has to be, then we should have been informed in advance of our stay.

What a wonderful experience. Great small historic hotel. Kept up beautifully. Our room was gorgeous. A corner room with four draped Windows in the bedroom and A window in the bathroom. Beautifully decorated and Very large. Bed was soooooo comfortable and two wonderful Terry robes. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was wonderful. Our entire experience has been great!
It was quiet and elegant. Didn't eat there but saw the white table cloths in restaurant from the bar. Not a lot of seating in the bar area. The young man at check in needs better customer manner -- he was surly and cranky. Lobby IS small. But my room was great. Reasonable size and well laid out. NO recycling bin though. No complimentary bottle of water or anything like that either. No HVAC controls in room and no ceiling fan so not sure I'd want to stay there in a heat wave. My room looked into the interior courtyard.
I could have put up with the small rooms, the proximity to an office block and lack of privacy in my room, along with lack of room service, mini bar, tiny towels and towelling robe if the service had been good. Waited service in the restaurant for breakfast was awful and incredibly slow. The front desk did their best but I got used to hearing 'no ma'am' in response to any request. The lobby had no useable seating and the small lounge area was closed to guests because it was for 'quiet reading' and not for meetings. The bar area was regularly closed. The manager was just plain rude to me, another guest and to a colleague with me, who was not staying in the hotel. If I could have switched hotels I would have. This hotel was chosen for its proximity to the convention center so the hotel should expect business guests but the hotel was completely unprepared for any business activity. The manager was hostile and seemed to want his hotel lobby and lounge area to be unused. Any request to front desk which was not refused straight away had to be run past him first. The difficulties with the hotel spoiled my first business trip since covid. I will not be using this hotel again and have complained to my travel agent. Be warned!…
We were in town for my son's wedding, and the hotel where the bridal party and mothers were getting hair and make-up done, was round the corner. We booked a king sized suite, the room is huge, very clean, and all new furnishings. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is smallish but adequate. The restaurant was amateurish and poor at best. All we ordered for breakfast was grapefruit juice, coffee and whole-wheat toast. The toast arrived stone cold, I told the waiter, he immediately brought out hot toast. If you can't get toast right, I dread to think what they'd do with a steak!!!! We decided to not have dinner there, it was expensive, and I didn't trust they'd do it right.
One of the worst hotel stays ever. Rooms are very small. Separated from another building by just a few feet so curtains had to remain closed at all times. Door had no way of locking from the inside, so housekeeping nearly walked in on me. No room service, and restaurant downstairs was awful. Lobby had room for only 8 people to sit, so could not schedule meetings there, and management would not allow us to meet in the tea room because a "business discussion might bother the other guests!" Shocking for a hotel that is located just a block from the convention center.
For the price in DC, this hotel is pretty spot on. We were able to walk to many attractions but also had in/out privileges with our car if needed. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and valet didn't take very long like some other reviews have mentioned (maybe they're stepping up on that). We didn't eat/drink here so I can't comment on the restaurant or bar. The room and bathroom were both pretty small but that's somewhat to be expected in DC when not spending an arm and a leg. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean, so overall I'd stay here again.
Booked the Henley Park Hotel after a review on multiple sites including Trip Advisor. It was very convenient to my son's apartment building and several restaurants in the area. I loved the fact that it was a very historical property with all the character one doesn't find in a modern chain hotel. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Binot and Jamal at the bar and The Tavern were great. They made me feel very welcome. There was a lady who served me breakfast each morning, and served tea to me, my son and daughter in law. I didn't get her name, but she also should be singled out for her friendly service. The food in the Tavern was very good, and the tea service was above and beyond. The room was a bit small as one might expect in a historical property, but it was well appointed and very clean. Might suggest they have a less complicated heating and air conditioning arrangement, I never could figure it out, but then I didn't bother to ask. So, shame on me. An ice bucket would have been nice, too, but these are just minor issues that don't negate my four-star rating. I will surely stay here when I visit my son, again.…
