My friends and I stayed here for Otakon 2021. The staff was friendly and someone was at the desk at all hours. The building is older but this didn't take anything away from the hotel. There is no individual room temperatures. The hotel has central air so the whole building i kept at the same temp. If you get cold easily, i would bring an extra blanket. The beds were super comfortable. We got 2 connected rooms since there were 5 of us. One room had 2 twin beds and the second room had 2 queen beds. Both TVs worked well. In the bigger room we had a mini fridge. The room does get very cold at night. We had a pizza that we left out in the box on top of the mini fridge and didn't have wot worry about putting it in the fridge. We did have a small problem with one of the bathroom tub drains draining extremely slowly. But i mentioned it to the manager as we left that morning and they fixed it while we were out that day. Great service! The hotel is in a great location. walking distance from many sites in the city. The convention center is only 15 minutes walking distance. All in all it was a great place to sleep and be comfortable after a long day walking around. We will definitely be staying here in the future!…
No amenities to speak of.. Ice machines, coke machine all out of order. No heat in room. Location was noisy (windows not very thick). Several electrical outlets in room did not work. TV reception fuzzy. No functioning handicap door, One person with us had a walker, Front counter staff didn't seem to care whether w stayed there or not.
I had a wonderful time in a delightful clean room surrounded by terrific staff in a hotel that is centrally located and within walking distance anywhere. The architecture is historical, the hotel guests are historical, a wonderful place to visit and stay. I highly recommend supporting this hotel
I first stayed in Hotel Harrington in 2011, and thought it was great value. Perfect location for sightseeing, and the hotel was old, but everything was clean and well maintained. I went back in November 2019, and was a bit disappointed. I'm not sure if we just didn't get a very nice room this time, or if the rooms haven't been cared for over recent years, but it wasn't great. The bathroom was very dated, the room was tiny and the bed was uncomfortable. Still a great location for tourists, walking distance to many of the monuments and highlights you would want to see in the area. Not sure I would stay at Harrington a third time, would possibly look elsewhere. But if you're happy with very simple accommodation, it's a great option.
We booked a room with one queen and two twin beds. We were very pleasantly surprised to find the room was actually two small rooms with two baths. We were comfortable and the room had everything we needed, even though the hotel is old and the rooms are not updated. The location is perfect for sight seeing. You can easily walk to the National Mall, the White House, etc. The front desk staff was very nice and check in was quick. Take a few minutes to read about the hotel's history when you are in the lobby near the elevators. We ate in the attached restaurant, Harry's, and the meal was good. If you can forego an upscale experience when traveling, this hotel is great for a family.
