Receptions and housekeepers were good. however, hotel itself is very old from beginning of 20th century. Rooms are big but smell nasty, feels like you in 18/19 century homes with old smell carpet. Bathroom doors are not closing at all and showers needs to be upgraded/replace because it's either hot water or cold (not warm). This hotel need big renovation. We understand that this hotel is a historical but come on, we leave in 21st Century. One restaurant which service for breakfast, is not good at all. waitresses are not friendly and don't care.

The rooms were clean and tidy, but VERY small. Do NOT let the size deter you, because if you are looking for a history experience like we did, it is an awesome place. We were there for the attractions and history, and this hotel is one history lesson we were glad to add and happy we did not miss.

We are a family on tourism doing a roadtrip and love every bit of this country..specialy that most of people is so nice...we understood that this hotel is old and need mantaince but sometimes with the kindness of the staff ..nothing matter, well in here was not that case, as soon we did check in..it was like we were asking for a loan in a bank....!!! this lady Joey was the worst ..rude! she shouldn"t be in a customer service position.

Rooms were spacious and well lit with comfy beds. Bathroom was clean and they had good housekeeping. I only went to the diner for breakfast but thought that was pretty decent. It was a little tatty, could definitely do with a spruce up. But definitely a good location; a walkable distance from the Smithsonian, Capitol Building and the White House. So overall, not a bad experience. Mind you: I had just come from a terrible hotel in New York so my standards had been considerably lowered.

The hotel was dirty and disgusting and dangerous with exposed wiring. The bed linen consists of a dirty blanket which smelt like cigarettes and a thin piece of fabric which was stained. Overall the hotel was awful and should be closed down before someone gets injured or killed.
