The room we had was extremely small. Had to navigate sideways to get around the bed. The TV was small and at first did not work. The maintenance staff quickly replaced the unit, then no further issues. Window did not open, hence no fresh air. Bathroom was quite small. The trim at the bottom of the walls near the window was filthy. I honestly expected bugs, but, thankfully we did not see any (good sign!). Restaurant food was okay, nothing great. I only had breakfast there once and that was enough. There is a bar also on the main floor. Looks very dated ( "cheesy" 1960's look..). The highlight of the hotel was the location. Otherwise, if you are looking for a roomy, relaxing hotel, this ain't it. Truly a budget hotel...

The location of this hotel is excellent. Everything is either walkable or a short taxi or train ride away. We ate at Harriet's and ordered the kids meals a couple of times because the regular size meals were king sized. We had the accessible room. I had stayed here several yeas ago and the accessible room is the same low quality as the regular rooms. It was clean, I think, but that's the only good thing that can be said for it. Even at that, the bedspread was questionable. It was cold, you have no control over the room temperature. On our last day they finally turned on the heat. Everything is old and worn out. If you want a good location at a low price, this is the place for you. They can accommodate large groups.

We stayed at this hotel, on Embassy Row in DC, and were delighted with the experience. Do not fail to eat at their restaurant if you do stay there. The service and the food were perfect. The hotel is an older one but in perfect condition and we were treated impeccably throughout or one week stay.

Theft: My cell phone and shoes were stolen from my luggage while the hotel was holding my luggage until the room was ready. Staff wouldn’t even return my follow-up telephone calls. I’ve never written bad reviews, but you need to be aware.

I'm actually a big fan of the Harry's restaurant in this hotel but this was my first time staying at the Hotel Harrington. And while I felt like I was walking into a haunted building as I got off the 10th floor, I enjoyed my stay. Entering room 1030 was confusing at first because I didn't expect to see 2 doors with #1030 and not knowing which one to use. Yes, the bathrooms are small and awful, the room was cozy. You can't beat the location. I wanted to be near my office building but more importantly the national mall. You have Metro Center up one block and plenty of dining options around. The staff at check-out were so friendly. You'll get a good deal staying at this hotel and now I have stories to tell people. Joking aside, I plan on coming back to the Harrington since I trust their staff.
