Spent two nights on business at the Grand Hyatt, spectacular. Very clean rooms, well appointed, fine bed, bit noisy but more an attribute of how busy they are and the interior very large reception area in the middle of the hotel.

Thanksgiving stay. This was a perfect location between all the sights and our son's apartment. We were able to walk almost everywhere! We stayed for a week and found the hotel very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel doesn't have a free shuttle to Dulles -it's at least a 30 minute drive without heavy traffic (which would be unusual in DC during the day). Metro (subway) not an option - it doesn't go to Dulles yet so you'd need to transfer to a bus (or 2). If you want to use public transport, Google the DC metro - they have an interactive route finder. Best options involve an airport shuttle (SuperShuttle, etc) taxi, Uber/Lyft, or rental car.
Call or otherwise contact the hotel and ask their recommendation.
