I found the Phoenix Park Hotel by chance. I was looking for a place to host my sister’s wedding that would be in the heart of DC, classy yet not ridiculously priced. When I happened upon the Phoenix Park, I knew it was the perfect venue. The photographs showed a regal hotel with elegant furnishings and decor and the actual venue turned out to be as nice as the pictures advertised. The staff, however, was what ultimately sold me on the place. From start to finish, Cat— the Director of Sales— provided the type of care, attention and quality of service that made me feel like her only customer. She followed up on every detail of our event with enthusiasm and support and honestly went above and beyond to make this event one for the books. All sorts of complimentary perks were offered to us and special allowances made for unique requests we had. On the day of the wedding, every detail that had been decided was honored and Cat maintained communication with me as needed throughout the day to ensure that all was going as planned and expected. The banquet host was attentive and intuitive and the service was phenomenal. The staff even decorated the bridal suite with rose petals and chocolates as a welcome to the bride and groom. We had to call maintenance for a minor issue and they came within minutes and resolved the problem. My only complaint is that I didn’t stay longer and the weekend came to an end. I highly recommend the Phoenix Park and am certain that anyone who experiences the hotel will not be disappointed.

Hotel's Favorite
I recently stayed at this amazing property and was very impressed with the level of services and attention I received from checking to my departure Fifi at the front desk was very welcoming and warm From the beginning of my arrival she address me by my last name and kept eye contact. Few minutes later she called me in the room and checked if there’s anything else I needed to make my stay better The location of the hotel is just across the street of union station and few steps away from the Capitol I haven’t stop telling all my colleagues at their next time visit to stay there I’m glad I found a jewel

We started planning my sister's December 2020 wedding in October 2020 during the height of the COVID pandemic. Cat jumped in with both feet to make the process as smooth and painless as possible despite the multitude of restrictions in place. Outside forces conspired to delay the wedding a full 6 months. Cat was patient and helpful during the interim. We received a final green light on May 20 and had less than 1 month to plan for a June 19 celebration. Cat and her team went above and beyond to ensure this affair was beautiful, elegant and well-coordinated. Fast forward to the day of: every single aspect of the wedding and reception went off without a hitch! Cat was onsite all day (a Saturday) to ensure smooth transitions and effortless accommodations. She was really the backbone of this operation on the hotel's end, and I cannot praise her enough, But also, the hotel! It is well-located (literally across the street from the city's central transportation hub (Amtrak, Greyhound, local trains and buses); a stone's throw from the US Capitol building with a view that can't be beat; a leisurely walk or short ride to the National Mall. There is grandeur without fussiness. The lobby boasts a winding staircase with a huge crystal chandelier while appearing modern and sophisticated. The suites are jaw-dropping and well-appointed. The service (from bellmen to front desk to housekeeping) is impeccable. I could go on, but suffice it to say - this experience was wonderful. I cannot think of a single issue to complain about. Do yourself a favor and book today. You will not be disappointed!

Stayed there recently had a great time. The staff at the front desk are a joy to deal with, could not do enough for me. If you visit DC, stay there. You will be looked after by professionals. Phoenix Park Hotel is the place for you. Also it is in a great location, beside so many amazing sites like Union Station, Capitol building, only a short walk from The White House, if you're a good walker. I also had the pleasure of meeting the hotel manager, David, lovely chap.

This is by far one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. First we drove from Houston to Memphis. Stayed the night in Memphis and got up at 6AM to make it to DC. Got caught up in traffic so I called the hotel to make sure they would hold my reservation. I was quickly rushed off the phone but told I would have my reservation still. I got to the hotel at 1AM. There was a rat outside of the hotel doors as I pulled up. I was just ready to get my family in the room so I overlooked it. The three ladies that checked me in were friendly. The room was terrible! I had read the reviews of the hotel and was extremely disappointed by what we saw. You could hear the neighboring rooms which means they could hear my 2 and 6 year old. Keep in mind its 2AM by the time we get in the room. The room was dirty and HOT. My wife found a lot of hairs in the bathroom. There was no where to store our clothes. We were staying for 2 nights and had actually booked another night before I saw what the room looked like but quickly cancelled the night once I saw the room. We set the AC to 65 and it didn't get cooler than 73/74 the whole time we were there. Ended up not sleeping until 4am because of having to clean the room and the temperature. Had to turn around and wake up at 8 to put money on the parking meter I had to use because the garage was closed by the time we got there which meant we had to park on the street. Decided to leave in the morning and just not worry about the money I'd lose out on; however when I went down to check out the front desk attendant didn't even bother to ask why I'd be leaving a 2 night stay after only having been in the room for a total of 8 hours. She did however state that I would have to pay for the duration of the nights booked. I felt it was extremely rude and unprofessional and just terrible customer service. I will say I have since spoken with the Director of Sales and have received a full refund for the duration of my stay. She was actually the best part of the hotel stay. I can tell she cares about the service at the hotel although the service I received was terrible. I just felt the need to write the review because I'd hate for someone else to go through what my family and I did.

Response from David Hill, General Manager at Phoenix Park Hotel
Responded 3 days ago
I read your comments and can only apologize for the experience you described. This is not the Phoenix Park as we are and as I know it - There is no excuse for poor service or housekeeping - and as evidenced by our past positive comments and praise - not the level of hospitality we are about. Clearly we failed you in this instance. We take our hospitality and responsiblity seriously - and as our Director of Sales stated when you spoke with her, immediately refunded your charges with our apology. We will review all of this with our team to ensure that shortcomings are not repeated for others. I apologize again for this experience and thank you for sharing it with us as soon as it occured.
