Detailed Reviews
We just stayed here 4 nights while visiting DC. We checked in online and chose a room on the 5th floor facing the rear of the building. It was very quiet and we slept well. The hotel is about a 10 min walk to the Foggy Bottom Metro Station. There is also a circulator bus stop nearby to go to Georgetown. Both elevators were working fine. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a mini fridge and microwave in room. There is a Walgreens across the street. We bought water bottles and the frig kept them ice cold. We really enjoyed the cold lemon water in the lobby when we came back from a long day of sightseeing. There was a restaurant next door called Chef Geoff’s west end where we ate dinner several times. They have a great Happy Hour Menu in the bar area and an outdoor seating option. We liked Call Your Mother for morning bagels which was a 2 min walk. We brought it back to the hotel and ate it on the second floor outdoor terrace. There were also several coffee shops nearby . Valet Parking was available for $50 a day but we chose to stop out front to drop off bags and then used spot hero app to park at 2300 N St for $24 a day which was a 5 min walk. Once we parked the car we never used it until we went home. They have onsite laundry and quarters available at the front desk which we used. Staff was very friendly here. I have only one complaint. The weather was beastly hot Memorial Day weekend and the pool was not open for the season. It might open on Monday Memorial Day when the majority of people are leaving.

Hotel's Favorite
Check in was easy to do online, but I also needed to go to the front desk to get a room card. I was greeting with two complimentary water bottles for being a Hilton Honors member.
I opted for a King corner room and the views did not disappoint. Floor to ceiling windows really made the room bright and gave a luxurious feel. Room had ample space, mini fridge, Keurig and microwave.
Hotel was in a nice area and the restaurant at the floor level had a wide variety of options for bringing back to the room.
The Hilton app made the entire stay a breeze to customize as I had the option of choosing my room and some various upgrades (early check in, room on a high floor). I also very much appreciated the noon check out time.
The only negative thing about this hotel was that for some reason, despite the fact that I was on a high floor, it was still quite loud from outside noise.
Otherwise I enjoyed my stay at Hilton Garden Inn Georgetown/DC.

This is a hotel that I have stayed at many times since 2014. It is well located in the Foggy Bottom/West End area of DC and only a 10 minute walk down M Street to Georgetown and a 7 to 10 minute walk from the Foggy Bottom Metro Station, so the location is excellent.
However, I did notice a few things, post COVID-19, that for the first time have made me give the hotel 4 stars instead of 5 stars compared to all my previous stays where I gave the hotel 5 out of 5.
1. I had called the day before to reserve a high floor room facing the street (these are the best rooms). I had booked a 1 King Bed Deluxe bed to ensure I would have a room that I prefer as my flight would arrive late afternoon and I wouldn't arrive at the hotel till around 6pm the following day. On my arrival room 1005 that I had reserved was not available. This was frustrating as it had been given to another guest who had rejected the room because the previous guest(s) had smoked in the room so it still smelled of cigarettes. Although the Front desk staff were apologetic, the only other King Bed Deluxe rooms that they were able to offer were on the 6th floor and the highest floor I was able to take was room 927. It was literally opposite the elevators which I would normally not want as I prefer rooms away from the elevator.
2. However, I was grateful for room 925 and the room was great except the towel hanger on the bathroom door to hang wet towels was missing. The next day I had to request 3 times that maintenance come and put a new one on. Now the front desk staff were excellent in requesting this, but maintenance did not come to do this till very late in the afternoon. I left the room at 5pm and it still had not been replace but was as I complained again when I left the hotel at 5pm! This was irritating to say the least.
3. I cannot understand why housekeeping has been instructed to only leave one bar of soap for ones hands and one for the shower when I was staying for 3 nights. I immediately had to request more soap. I thought that strange as I had indicated I did not want the room serviced during my stay as I am still uncomfortable about COVID-19 and therefore did not want anyone to enter the room. I just feel that they should leave at least 2 bars of both the hand and Shower soaps, especially because COVID-19 is still with us and so many like me do not want anyone entering the room unless absolutely necessary.
4. This is not major, but I was surprised that there has been no refresh of the rooms since I first stayed at the hotel in 2014. Now the room is nice but the carpets are the same and I was just surprised they have not been replaced yet.
Now I love this hotel. I only stay at this hotel when I visit DC. The staff were all different since my last visit before the Pandemic but they are excellent. Other than the slight things mentioned above, my stay was excellent and I will return to this hotel the next time I stay. This is a high end hotel that for the expensive Washington DC prices an excellent choice. I highly recommend it.

This is an updated review:
I had originally given this hotel a 4, down to 2 now, because over a week after check out, they still have a hold on my card for monies they have already collected for my stay. Front desk keeps telling me they don't know why the hold was not released and nobody else can help. I have called about it to no avail. I have never before had this happen at any other Hilton anywhere.
Original review:
Loved the no front desk check-in and out and unlike other reviews I have read, I had absolutely no problem with the digital key. I also LOVE the multilingual staff encounters. Most of the people I dealt with, especially from the restaurant were Spanish speakers. Some struggled to communicate with me in English, but it's a learning curve for us all. Kudos👏👏
There are a couple things that were off though:
1. I had no kitchenette in my room, so why did housekeeping keep leaving cups with a little bit of coffee after cleaning up? Why didn't they removed used utensils belonging to the restaurant??? I tried not to empty coffee in the bathroom sink or put cups with liquid in the bin. But how I left them made it clear they were to be removed and each day the same thing. I left a note one day came back to the same thing and the note so ️️️️
2. No smart TV and just basic cable. For a hotel this pricey and located where it is, smart TV that would allow me on a long trip to connect to my Netflix etc is a no brainer.
3. TV was not even connected the night I checked in and had to speak to front desk twice before it actually was fixed.

Dear Guest: We are sorry that your after stay experience regarding credit card hold was challenging for you. Our Team should have been more proactive in solving this for you- by the way, some banks take an enormous amount of time to release hold on the consumer account- but often given the time Hotel staff is able to get hold of the Bank with the customer on line ( together) and have the opportunity release hold. International banks take upward of 30 days, depending on the part of the work the traveller is from . Please know that we will retrain our staff to be more communicative and helpful regarding this issue. We hope that your next stay will be fantastic and will exceed your expectations. Thank you for choosing to stay with us. Hope to see you return. Sincerely,

Wife and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights June 2024. We had room 930, adequate and fine, on the smaller side for 2 people for 5 days, decent size bathroom with walk in shower. We had housekeeping each day without asking for it which was really nice. Hotel seemed clean and up to date. Not much of a lobby. Location of hotel was GREAT! Corner of M St. and 22nd. Close to 2 subway stations, Whole Foods and Trader Joes, many restaurants/cafes and coffee shops. Independant restaurant Chef Geoff's is at the hotel and quite good, with inside and outside seating. We ate there 3 times. Just 2-3 blocks down 22nd street was Z Burger a joint with awesome burgers, fries and philly cheese steaks! Easy walk up M street into Georgetown main areas. I also walked up to the zoo and back down thru Adams Morgan area, 6 ish miles total. Several 'circulator' bus routes that cost $1 [one dollar] and I rode the Union Station to Georgetown one full circle. Nice walkable neighborhoods streets in the area. Enjoyed walking Georgetown and other areas. I'm a walker and enjoyed this location.

We stayed in the Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/Georgetown in Sept 2023. We were not that impressed and will probably seek to stay at a different hotel the next time that we visit. The hotel is very loud and you constantly hear noise from the hallway all night. When we made the reservation, it was made clear to us that we would have to valet park our car. But when we showed up, the valet said that their garage was full and that we would have to find parking ourselves. The valets were also not very helpful in giving us directions to nearby parking garages. There are parking garages nearby, but they are not marked well. The valets directed us to park in the garage "behind Walgreens", which we eventually found. And the reason why we kept driving by and missing the location is because there is no sign at the entrance of the parking garage indicating that it is a parking garage (I know this is not the hotel's fault, but they could be more helpful when their own parking lot is full). Our guest room was on the 5th floor of the hotel and the hallways were very warm, which was uncomfortable when lugging all of our luggage through the hotel. Our guest room temperature was fine and the room itself was fine.

This is by far the not only the worst Hilton Garden I've stayed in, it' s the worse hotel I have ever stayed in any where in the world. Yes, any where in the world. Where do I begin? How about the raw sewage smell the complete dominates the 2nd floor and the lobby. The guest on 2 were so disgusted they checked-out in mass. The gym in on 2nd I went in with two other women who didn't last five minutes before being overcome with the awful stench. It gets much worse. We asked for towel service they hung towel on our door knob and walked away (I have pictures of this). No removal of the old just literally draped them over the door and left. The floors clearly hadn't been vacuumed there was garbage in the hall way. $50.00 to part and the valet complete ignored anyone who wasn't white. I literally pointed out to him that he was ignoring all the black people in favor of the white customers he shrugged his shoulder and continued, I parked at the Hyatt instead for $30.00. There isn't a single good thing I could say about this hotel. Just plain awful. And the Crème de la Crème. We asked for an early checkout because of Hurricane Henri, my home was in the path of the storm, they said "sure check out but we are still charging you for all remaining days". At that point I didn't care there was no amount of money that could keep me at that hotel. WORST HOTEL EVER!!!!!!
