Where do I begin.... I have just returned from an amazing trip to Washington DC and staying at the Akwaaba Mansion DC was icing on the tape. I cannot stop talking and thinking about Akwaaba Mansion DC and I am not admit ashamed to admit that I am experiencing a severe case Akwaaba Mansion DC withdrawals. The ambience was simply... More

The Akwaaba DC was a perfect choice to celebrate both my husband's birthday and our 35th wedding anniversary. Our innkeeper Kim delivered exceptional service and her cooking skills were amazing. The Zora Neale Hurston room was exactly as depicted on the website, well appointed with a large modern bathroom and plenty of space to lounge and read. Akwaaba is located... More

We meet our innkeeper Nani at the door and she was She was extremely accommodating and very knowledgeable about the area. The room had an updated bathroom and was very large. The bed was comfortable. We stayed in the Langston Hughes and enjoyed the balcony overlooking the street. The location is fantastic. It is close to restaurants, shopping, the museums,... More

Our time spent in Akwaaba was absolutely perfect. Our Innkeeper Nani was amazing, her customer service was fantastic. She helped us out with navigating the metro and bus lines, made suggestions on places to eat and all in all was what made our stay so great. The rooms themselves were great as well. Clean and had nice amenities. Our time... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our 9 days at Akwaaba in Washington. The bed and breakfast accommodation is of a very high standard and the 2 ladies who looked after us were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was of a very high standard and we also thought the happy hour food and nibbles at 5pm was... More

I had been travelling alone for the past 6 days in the U.S. and missing the interaction with company at the end of the day. Additionally, although I had been paying top dollar for accommodation in Chicago and New York, the quality of the rooms left a little to be desired. That all changed at the Akwaaba. Bedrooms were beautifully... More

My husband and I stayed int he Romance room for a quick romantic anniversary getaway. The Inn keepers, Nani and Kim, were extremely friendly, unobtrusive, kind, and helpful. In fact, we had to check out before breakfast on our 2nd night and a wonderful packed breakfast with a granola bar, apple, Greek yogurt, and hard boiled egg was placed in... More

My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with a getaway to Washington DC. After careful research, we chose to stay at the Akwaaba D.C. From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the place! The decor, the warmth, the many special touches, and the location in beautiful Dupont Circle, were delightful. Our innkeeper, Nani, could not... More

The Akwaaba Inn DC has the essential features of the best B&Bs: a hot breakfast cooked and served by the innkeeper at a big table seating 8 or more people that you can meet and talk with over breakfast, and a common area sitting room. The inn is in a lovely area of the city, about a 10 minute walk... More
