I did not stay at this property, however, my husband did and he absolutely loved it. I actually called a few times with some requests to make my husband feel closer to home since it is the first time he’s ever been from our newborn and me. Kiana at the front desk always answered the phone with enthusiasm and made sure to fulfill all of my requests. Thank you for making us feel closer to each other during these times. Kiana was nothing but wonderful, and always went out of her way to make us happy!

I live in the neighborhood near the hotel and often pass it. I booked a room recently using my points for a friend while he was in town. I went to the hotel late at night to ensure he got checked in and everything and lo and behold I was stopped at the door (I am Black) while my friend (who is white) was allowed to continue to check-in. If you are black, I suggest not staying here.

This was our first stay at the Courtyard in the Navy Yard. Didn't realize they have been there for seven years. Nicely appointed and about a mile or so from the nations Capitol. We normally stay at the Residence Inn because of the breakfast and happy hour, however due to Covid things have changed quite a bit. The Courtyard did provide coffee and of course the Marketplace was open but all other food options were closed. Also, due to Covid please confirm in advance normal ammenities you might expect (i.e., gym, pool, etc). We had a King room which is great, however the TV is located quite a distance from the bed. The hotel is located in an area which has been redeveloped so you have plenty of stores/shops/dining options. For us the biggest plus is the Metro (Green Line) is right across the street

Pros: -Very walkable. Close to metro. -Front desk and Bistro staff were helpful -Area felt very safe. I walked around at night and felt fine about it. Lots of people walking dogs etc. -Breakfast wasn’t bad -bed was ok -Nice to have a couch in the room since I was traveling with others and we could chill there after dinner together. Cons: -Not the cleanest. Bathroom had mildewy issues. Toilet wasn’t super clean. The extra blanket in the room was DISGUSTING (COVERED in hair and a mystery substance.) Curtains and bed skirts were stained. -The TV was at a super weird angle. If you wanted to watch TV, you could only see about half of it from the bed. -some of the rooms smelled Smokey -The gym was bad. Real bad. A couple old, worn out treadmills and in a tiny space. -The pool looked very gross. The ceiling was peeling, the walls were missing tiles, and there would be no way I’d get in the water. It was super cloudy and gross. -Housekeeeping wasn’t friendly. They’d knock on the door and say oh okay you don’t need anything today right? Then have me dump my own trash and dirty towels.... I would not stay here again due to the cleanliness issues. With it being cold and flu season and always having the concern of bed bugs, the visible dirt and issues made me concerned about what might be going on in the room that I couldn’t see. I purchased Lysol wipes to wipe down everything. I do want to say a Special thanks to Robbie (Ronnie?? Sorry I can’t remember for sure) in the bistro for taking care of cutting flowers we got for a friend and getting us something to put them in :) There was also a very nice guy at the front desk who was always helpful. Truly if this place was refreshed and thoroughly cleaned it could be a real winner.

Room was great, Beds were comfortable and staff was friendly. Parking was expensive. However, our main complaint is pool room needs a ton of work. 1st the door lock was broken to enter, 2nd no towels were stocked and the biggest issue was the hot tub/whirlpool did not work. We turned the dial and nothing. This was unfortunate as it was the main reason we chose this hotel.
