This was my second stay at the American Guest House, and I love it. It's so much better than a big, impersonal hotel! It's quiet and private, yet a staff member is always present, and each one is extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious, and staying there has the feel of staying with friends. Finally, the place itself...

Excellent location and room was clean and comfortable. Our visit was made even more pleasant by Shannon and Jesse who took time to assist us and answer our questions about the area and restaurant recommendations.

The property is conveniently located for the event I attended. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Safety is a great feature - but the property itself was very much like being in a home. Breakfasts were wonderful - the staff very friendly.

Location is outstanding! In a clean, and very safe, perhaps upscale residential neighborhood- I was in DC for business and was able to walk everywhere I needed to quickly and easily with beautiful D.C. Architecture to admire along the way. About a 12-15 minute Uber to/from the airport. The guest house is gorgeous and beautifully renovated. Rooms are small but...

Rooms comfortable and clean. Convenient to Metro. Breakfast is included in price and excellent, ie. French toast plus eggs, fruit, juice. Staff is friendly and helpful. This is my second visit and I would gladly return.

The guest house is a very old building in good condition. My room was very small with an awkward door, but it was attractive and clean and the bed was very comfortable. And it was very quiet. We had breakfast both mornings, a delicious cheese and vegetable omelette one morning and French toast the next (with optional eggs). Also available...

Coming home to the American Guest House each night after a day of touring was a real pleasure. The area is so walkable and interesting that we did not even mind the cold and really enjoyed ourselves. The food and daily kitchen chat with Kevin provided a great start to each day.

This is a wonderful gem in a great location of DC and my new home away from home whenever I come into town. The Innkeepers are friendly and very accommodating as is the Housekeeper. Breakfasts are scrumptious and the table is always set beautifully. The proprietor always responds to emails quickly and cordially. The rooms have crisp white bed linens...

Friendly hosts, convenient check in, a fine breakfast. A 5 minute walk to the Metro at Dupont Circle. I took the least expensive room, one that accommodates only one person. It is located in the basement level, and next to a room for the housekeeper. I was warned I would hear breakfast traffic early since it is directly below the...

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at our DC Inn, and we are grateful for the review. Many of our guests book room 114 because it is less expensive than most other rooms. It is located next to our Resident Manager's room and unfortunately, being a 19th Century historic house, sound proofing wasn't as popular back then, but...

I needed a place near the Washington Hilton and a conference I was attending and every other hotel was booked, The room was small but comfortable, however getting my bag up three flights of stairs was difficult (there was no one to assist me) and it was only a little easier getting it back downstairs.
