This was my second stay at this hotel in the last few months. I booked the hotel again as I had a good experience the first time a few months ago. The hotel room was comfortable as last time and customer service was consistently good and friendly mostly BUT there were safety concerns. I had to report twice that my room and the hallway on my floor to the elevators smelled like smoke and marijuana. I am not sure if it was coming from the vents or where but I informed the hotel front desk and there was no follow up. I just gave up. Secondly, I encountered on at least 5 separate occasions over 4 days where other hotel guests were allowed to walk through the lobby with no masks. This is a real safety concern to me and not fair to other hotel guests. Front desk staff did nothing to respond and they saw the guests walk by the front desk. I was going to leave to go to another hotel but I had a lot of luggage and didn’t want to move and weather was bad when I was there. One encounter was right in the middle of the lobby where there was seating and tables and a couple was just sitting down with no masks on at all. They were not eating or drinking and the front desk staff could easily see them from their view. This is unacceptable! There are plenty of sanitation stations and signage but mask wearing is not enforced at all. Management should do a better job to follow up with staff and train them properly. It’s not safe for the employees as well to have multiple people sitting and walking near them with no masks. As a platinum Bonvoy member I am frustrated that the hotel brand allows this. I will not be returning as this is a clear safety concern in addition to the smells of smoke in the premises.

I recently stayed at this hotel for just one night on a combination of business and pleasure. It was my last night before I returned home. Hotel is pristine and very much takes safety in terms of CVD19 seriously! There’s ample hand sanitizer machines in addition to very clear signage all over the hotel. My hotel room was not very modern but the bathroom and shower areas were huge and the room was exceptionally clean with comfortable furniture. Plenty of towels were provided and they even offer an area in the hotel lobby to pick up any food deliveries along with dishes and microwaves if you need to heat up your food. There’s a small outdoor courtyard that looked very inviting with outdoor furniture but I didn’t have time to sit outside during my stay. I could see it from my room though. The best part of my stay were the staff and room comfort. Each and every one of them go above and beyond for their guests. I was working remotely the day I checked in and needed to do a video conferencing call and they allowed me to check in early so I can settle in my room first. They were more then willing to help me. I first spoke to a women to ask for early check in and I am sorry I did not get her name but she was so friendly and pleasant. The other gentlemen at the front desk all provided excellent customer service as well. I had never stayed there before though come to DC often for work and was quite impressed with the value and entire hotel experience. It’s also very centrally located to the metro, shops and restaurants. A Starbucks is attached to the hotel location for a very convenient coffee break time. Thank you to the staff for making my stay so pleasant and comfortable. I will definitely be back!

This is a very nice property and the staff is good. It’s a very modern design. It’s in a very quiet neighborhood. The room was clean we had an couch with lots of stains. The workout room is very nice. The pool was closed after my assistant called to confirm it would be open but the front desk ( Evan ) made this right for us. This hotel is close to many memorials and sites to see.

This hotel and it’s staff far exceeded my expectations on a quick, two night stay in DC. Prior to booking, Rachel from the front desk cheerfully answered all of my questions and her professionalism and attitude gave me a good impression of the property prior to my stay. I usually like to select new or recently renovated properties so I have to admit, I was a bit concerned that the hotel’s renovation project got delayed due to Covid. Upon arrival my concerns were erased completely by the spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated hotel lobby and common areas, to the cleanliness of elevators and hallways to my assigned room on the 6th floor, I could not find fault in anything! Evan checked me in and provided helpful info including an excellent restaurant recommendation for Founding Farmers which turned out to be awesome. I was impressed with how clean and nice my room was for the price I paid and felt very comfortable. The bathroom was nice and the walk in shower tile was spotlessly clean. The shower had great water pressure which can be a rarity these days. Rachel from the front desk left a welcome note and a snack in my room which was a really nice touch upon our arrival to the hotel. On Saturday morning we conveniently walked just outside the hotel to Starbucks to pick up our mobile breakfast order before walking to the Lincoln Memorial. The hotel location is safe and quiet and you can walk easily to nearby attractions without needing a car. We enjoy walking but you could also take Lyft or Uber. Daniel from the front desk remembered my name on Saturday and got us a couple of teas despite the Bistro being closed on Saturday evening. The customer service at this hotel really stands out and it was impressive! This is a well run, clean hotel in a convenient location and also a great value for the price. I will definitely stay here again when I return to DC!

TL, DR: we would stay there again just because of the location, but there were several minor inconveniences During the pandemic, I am noticing that everything gets on my nerves more than normal, so understand that was my mindset during this experience when I didn’t want to be traveling, but couldn’t avoid it. We checked in very late at night and were given zero details about anything regarding the hotel. I specifically asked about food availability since we had driven in, and was told nothing was available that late. In my exhaustion, I didn’t even notice the little snacks market off to the side, and the desk clerk certainly didn’t point it out, so I was pretty annoyed the next morning to come down and see that. The temp in our room never went under 75, despite being set to 65 - someone came up to check it, turned it off and on, and no one ever came again to try to actually fix it. One thing that would have been nice to know, but of course we weren’t told at check in (since we weren’t told anything at check in), is that housekeeping isn’t cleaning rooms during your stay, so we had to request towels each day. This is completely understandable, but again, no one told us this. The bistro usually serves Starbucks, and the front desk (upon being asked) told us, “sorry, that’s also closed due to Covid”. Never mentioning that there is a full size Starbucks just around the corner from the entrance. We were already out the door and heading the other way before spotting it on the app. The parking garage spots are tight, but manageable and better than street parking. The location is just blocks from several of the best things to see in DC, so that was the best part. It’s a super easy walk to the White House, Wash monument, Vietnam memorial, Korean Memorial, and Lincoln memorial. It’s also practically on campus for GW. The staff, though, was generally some of the most unhelpful staff I’ve ever encountered in a hotel at this mid level price point. Front desk staff is usually volunteering info left and right, but most of this group just provided the most minimal information only when asked a direct question. I walked in the front door and used the card key wrong at least three times before one of them finally pointed out how to do it correctly. Considering the reduced number of guests, it would seem that we’d have better service since they aren’t as busy as usual. The beds are soft, the pillows are tiny and annoying, the wifi was good and free, and the tvs have streaming capabilities if you sign in on your own personal accounts. Each room has a micro fridge (ours didn’t get very cold). I would stay there again just because of the location, but I wouldn’t expect stellar service.
