We went for the afternoon tea and it was beautiful! I feel like there could have been more included for the price, but everything they served was delicious and the service was excellent! Be sure to make reservations. We made them ahead of time and still weren’t seated until 20 minutes after our reservation time.
Wonderful trip with family. Salamander hotel was a great place to stay. Easy location and a great value for the quality of hotel. Excellent sleep, even being in the heart of DC. Close to restaurants and the National Mall. Will be staying there again.
The location (and hotel reputation) is what drew us to this hotel. We were very pleased as customer service was top notch. Rooms and hotel in general very clean, the pull-out sofa mattress was surprisingly comfortable, and amenities very nice. The only issue is dining is limited really to breakfast and in-room.
Wonderful stay & great staff and service. From Vale, check in & room, all was exceptional! Ziad in the bar was helpful with drink suggestions. Everyone we encountered was friendly & offered great suggestions. Will definitely book another reservation.
We checked in for a long-weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday for my mother-in-law. The team went out of their way to make this a special weekend! From Afternoon Tea service delivered to the room, to in-room dining that took into account all the needs from a 4-year-old foodie to the most senior members of our party, everything was great. Most impressively, every single member of the Salamander team was absolutely wonderful...literally every interaction we had with team members were truly top notch.
We came for a short stay to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. Starting from the reservation process, I knew this place would be great. The hotel, the staff, the spa, the food, and the location were excellent. Highly recommend this hotel. Definitely call Maria a the spa and she will make sure you have a great experience.
I ate breakfast by myself and was thrilled with the staff, food and overall service! I left my credit card at the restaurant and Marcos found me down the street!!!!! This is above and beyond service!!! Well done!!! I am looking forward many visits to your beautiful hotel!!!
I booked a stay at the Salamander based on my prior excellent experiences at the former Mandarin Oriental. The hotel has lost its lustre under its new management: They are clearly living off its former status as a 4 or 5 star experience. The mini-bar was empty (Guys- the pandemic is over, other hotels have restored this service), there was no coffee/tea maker, no in-room dining menu (it's on the website, with very limited and uninspiring selections), the shampoo/soap is available by wall-mounted dispensers of second rate quality, and the shampoo dispenser resisted multiple attempts at delivering its contents, the bathroom fan was noisy and couldn't be turned off. The new management is clearly skimping and hoping to retain its status as an AMEX Platinum choice based on past quality. There are several better options on that list for this price point.…
Very nice spa weekend to remember perfect staycation close to home but far enough to enjoy. Spa services were awesome hotel & atmosphere was very relaxing breakfast was delicious. Love how friendly & professional everyone was.
Staff was amazing! Between the restaurant, front desk, bellman, front door….just wonderful. Location was heaven! Equidistant between the Smithsonian and the Wharf, and no more than 15 minutes to the airport. Piece of cake to grab an Uber if needed, or can easily walk to metro. Hands down a brilliant location.
