My mom, daughter, niece and I stayed here last week, and what a wonderful stay it was. Don, the owner, was gracious, knowledgeable and a terrific host. Carl (I sure hope I remembered & spelled his name correctly!) the chef couldn't have been more fabulous if he tried. Everyday our breakfast was a feast and a true culinary treat. Normally... More

My friend and I stayed for the weekend before we headed off to college and we couldn't ask for a better residence for our two nights there. A lovely historic home located less than a mile from the White House, it was great having the up-scale amenities and location for a relatively cheap price. We were able to walk most... More

Great breakfast conversation with other visitors and Don. Fascinating! Fabulous breakfast made with love. Very nice location handy for many restaurants and access to the National Mall. What more do you need. Felt safe as lone traveller.

Chester Arthur house was a charming oasis in the middle of DC. The owner was chatty without being intrusive, super accommodating and had great advice about the area. They are dedicated to preserving the house's original architecture. The breakfast was amazing and the chef made us a special to-go breakfast since we had to leave so early. I highly recommend... My wife and I had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Chester Arthur House B & B. The informative and knowledgeable host, Don, made us feel immediately welcome at he and his wife's historic house on Logan Circle. The mid-19th century Victorian furniture adds to the B & B's unique charm. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast prepared by chef... More

Wife and I spent two nights at this well located B&B while visiting family in DC and Northern Virginia. Breakfasts were very good and the host an interesting and engaging fellow. We had made our way to DC via New Orleans and on the day of our arrival our host called us three times to ascertain time of arrival. This... More

We’re glad the guest liked our location and our breakfasts, and found the owner (me) interesting. We’re sorry he arrived in Washington in the middle of a week-long record-breaking heat wave, with temperatures edging into the triple digits. The comfort index hit 106. As he says, we adjusted the temperature in his bedroom as soon as we heard it wasn’t... More

Very atmospheric, beautifully preserved Victorian house in a great location, and with excellent hospitality. Don is a fascinating host - could have listened to him for days. Large bedroom with everything we needed, and very helpful orientation to the area. Breakfasts were delicious, and made even better by the beautiful dining room. A pleasure to return in the evenings and... More

I stayed for 4 nights at the house - two nights in the king-sized room and two in the queen sized room - I preferred the latter (especially appreciating the bath after all my sightseeing - my poor feet!), but was really comfortable in both. The location is good, but if you have any mobility problems, it would still be... More

We stayed for 3 nights - the place is very central to all 'touristy' needs; it contains beautiful antique furniture in line with the period of the place. If you like sleek modern places then this is not for you...but if you relish the opportunity to live in a character home with great history that is clean & servicable at... More

I had a wonderful stay here when i was in DC alone. The location is great, and the fact that it only has a few rooms made it very nice. The host, Don, is interesting and helpful. Excellent breakfasts! I had the front room which definitely has street noise but they supply a white noise machine. Altogether a great experience.
