Very nice rooms and comfortable bed. Good location near lots of interesting attractions. Staff was nice and bathroom was large with separate shower and bath, which is always great. The destination fee is ridiculous though, and includes such "amenities" as ice water with some fruit in it. Gym is a bit small and could use some Peloton bikes.
The Sofitel is charming and situated in a beautiful part of Washington DC. Restaurants and monuments are easily within walking distance. There is a very European feel to the hotel and staff were welcoming and helpful. There is a lovely bar and restaurant on premises. Nous reviendrons❤️
Enjoyable to revisit Sofitel Washington and see business recovering. While COVID restrictions have been lifted, COVID restrictions continue with some services, paper and plastic cups in rooms and empty minibars. Minor maintenance issues required in some areas. Looking forward to full service on the next visit.
I arrived late one evening at the hotel only to discover that I had forgotten to pack my cell phone charger. Brycen went above and beyond the call of duty by going to his car and bringing me his cell phone charger so I would not be inconvenienced.
I stayed at the Sofitel in Washington DC (Lafayette Square) from June18th to June 20th 2022. My stay was short but enjoyable. The staff at the Front Desk, Opaline Restaurant and Concierge Desk we’re excellent and attended to our needs. (Sorry I did not get their names). It was in a very convenient location for walking to the Museum and other tourist sites. I have stayed at Sofitel Hotels in Europe previously so I was familiar with the brand. I would rate the hotel a 4.5 stars. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is because it does not have a spa, pool, slippers (a very plush bathrobe was provided) and access to a microwave oven which is customary for 5 star hotels I’ve stayed at in my travels.
I am not one to write a review but when someone goes above and beyond we have to do it. Brycen did an amazing job from the moment we walked in. He took the time to get to know how our day was going and made sure to address all questions. He had a great vibe to him and all I could say is that I’ve been around the world and the level of customer service he displayed was second to none. Thank you tons!
Sofitel is a great hotel with amazing staff. I highly recommend staying here while in D.C. Shout out to Reggie…. Thank you for taking such pride in your work. I hope you know you are appreciated. Thank you!
Stayed for 3 nights in June of 2022 in a suite with two queen beds and a pullout at $600 per night. But, we were informed this included a free bottle of wine (we had to call for that and a small half bottle was brought up). Arrived first day at 2;30 and asked if possible to check in a few minutes early. Receptionist, Lindsay, seemed almost happy to tell us that wouldn’t be possible and must wait until agreed upon 3 pm. Just after 3 the room was then ready. On that Thursday night the hotel was not at all busy, nor was it over the weekend. Beds had no sheets under comforter so we called front desk and asked that sheets be put on. After a few hours they came up and put them on, making a bit of a mess of the beds. Called for room service or restaurant menu and was told to scan the sheet received on check in, which I had misplaced. Front desk said to get menu off of their website. I checked website while on phone with Lindsey, no menu there. She said she would send someone up with it. Told her not to bother. On last night had to call housekeeping again for bedsheets (again Lindsay). A maintenance guy was sent up with one sheet, he went back when I told him we required two. On his return told him we’d make the beds ourselves! While a lot of the staff are great, the few that are not really stand out with their indifference to their clientele. Can’t recommend this place when there is a lot of competitive choices out there.…
We loved the Sofitel! It was close to the White House and the location was excellent. It was very clean and lovely. The bed slept great. We loved the hotel restaurants. Coffee in the lobby was also wonderful in the mornings. I would definitely stay here again.
What a wonderful weekend. One of the highlights of our trip was our stay at Sofitel Hotel. The location could not have been better and the hotel itself was lovely and the entire staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. I do want to acknowledge one special staff member who greeted us when we arrived and welcomed us every time he saw us, never forgetting our name. This is staff member is Mazimba, and he is a treasure.
