It is an old hotel, very small room, small elevator, old bathroom (water was never super hot), small AC unit. But everything was clean and working. Perfect if you are staying for one night or two and you don't stay in the hotel during your stay. Located in the Dupont Circle area, very well located for my fun visit with friends. I stayed there for one night. I was on the 4th floor and I didn't hear anything from the bar downstairs.
A very simple and nice place, in the embassy district, near the center of Washington D.C. city. Friendly staff and well kept room, with good cleaning. It is a very good place if you want to reach every point of the capital city both by walking and by subway (the Dupont Circle metro station is only 400m far). Great hotel both for lonely people and friends traveling together. Next to the reception there is a small self-service are with tea and good coffee. In the pub on the ground floor you can eat good food and drink tasty beer while watching a comedy show or a variety show. I liked it!
The hotel is quaint and semi-historic (elevator is the “old style type” with the gate and slide door. It is EXTREMELY small) hotel that is conveniently located (a stones throw from DuPont Circle) which is why this review gets an additional star. The hotel itself is horrible for business travelers because the walls and floors are extremely thin (foot steps from upstairs and drunk folks outside) and sits upon a bar and comedy club. It is an extremely noisy place to stay. The staff is really helpful and friendly, but when I travel on business I value sleep.
If you are in a crunch go get a place this is a good last minute option in terms of price and location but this is not a good hotel. Feels like a very old European B and B. If you pay more than 100 after tax per night you’re paying too much.
My son & I were recommended Dupont Circle as a safe & good area to sleep in DC. We chose The Baron because of its location. We were not disappointed!! But a little shocked to see how old it is 1913. At first, in the lobby, I thought...OK, it has character...I know these old lifts, my son didn’t, so was cool to introduce to him, however, room was super tiny, bathroom had hair in it, the sinks handle stayed in my hand whilst brushing my teeth (although fixed straight away) overall, it wasn’t bad...but I won’t stay there again. Sorry! For the price paid per night, I expected more. Much more. The staff at lobby, really sweet, relaxed & helpful. Thanks guys.
