2 night weekend august stay 7pm arrival check in was busy but moved fast. 9th floor king club room so no need to take elevator to reach the lounge. Room was big and spotless with fridge and bathroom was huge. I requested extra towels and toiletries and they were waiting. Best part of hotel was the club lounge staff, they are all competent and entertaining. Lounge offering were fine, I met the chef as he came up to check on everything. The doormen never forgot to open the front doors and its nice that everyone is always offering cold bottled water since it was so hot and humid. We took the circulator bus to union station after checkout on Sunday ITS FREE! i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

A great hotel in a great location. Super friendly staff, nice amenities and great workout center. Has a restaurant but a bit pricey. We prefer one of the many coffee houses close by. Love the cookies they offer each evening with the recipe from each president. Nice touch! Close the many things on the west end of the mall and Georgetown.

The concierge was superb, gracious and efficient (I believe using staff names in reviews is not allowed, alas) Also the valet team was fantastic Overall I liked the hotel, although the area around is generally a bit soulless One thing I found strange was the reception staff loudly offering a welcome glass of Prosecco to some guests checking in, but not others (I was not offered a glass, but I am only a Bonvoy Gold and maybe it’s a status thing)

Absolutely worst check in experience I’ve ever had. As a titanium member, they didn’t want to give me a suite upgrade (they tried to sell every guest checking in on a $250 suite upgrade), so they didn’t except my rate code. I left and went to the Park Hyatt where they upgraded me to a junior suite because I’m a Hyatt Diamond member and accepted my ID. The Park Hyatt is a way better property anyway, so I shouldn’t have ever booked at this Ritz.

I am usually disappointed in 5 star hotels because they seldom match my expectations. I had extremely high expectations, but they were surpassed by the Ritz-Carlton in D. C. Every want is anticipated, and provided for by genuinely respectful people. This was a perfect couple’s getaway.
