I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton, Washington DC in July 2022 after a problem at another hotel. The other hotel was fine, but I switched mid-trip for a different kind of experience, and the Ritz-Carlton definitely delivered. The staff at this hotel, from the team at the door to the front desk to housekeeping, made me feel like royalty with their kindness and attentiveness. The hotel itself is gorgeous - elegant yet contemporary, with exceptionally well-appointed rooms. My Platinum status was recognized and honored. I absolutely loved every minute here. I travel often for fun and never hesitate to treat myself. 56 nights with Marriott this year - I can confidently say that this hotel is the best of the best.
I enjoyed my stay here as the room was very spacious with a comfortable arm chair at the side. It looks newly renovated so I appreciate that as well. I love the bathroom the most as the water pressure from the shower is very strong. I was also provided with the most comfortable bath robe I have tried on for a long time. I also liked that they provided lots of water and apples for joggers in the morning. The only thing that I didn’t like was that the TV took up a lot of space on the study table. Maybe it would be better to mount it on the wall to free up space on the table.
WOW!! What an incredible stay! This is certainly the best hotel I have ever stayed in in Washington D.C., and we travel here often. From the second we arrived until the moment we left, we had a wonderful experience. The room we stayed in was impeccable, there was literally not even a speck of dust to be found anywhere. In addition, all the staff was so helpful! No matter what I needed, they were always able to accommodate me. Truly a 5-star experience! I hope to return one day.
There are many choices in DC for upscale hotels. Here staff is very nice and rooms are very nice, clean and well-equipped. Well, except that there is not a coffee maker and a water kettle in the room. Not to speak of a Nespresso maker. Which in this category should be standard today. Otherwise, a great place recommended to stay when in DC.
Of all the wonderful things that RCDC has to offer, the most noteworthy thing for us is the staff at the Club Lounge. All staff members did an excellent job; particularly worth mentioning for their service are Jenny, Nayana and especially Kathy Turner. We are also especially grateful to Fatiha, also at the Club Lounge. We like to read a paper copy of The New York Times on Sunday mornings; when none was available, she or somebody else may have gone across the street and purchased one specifically for us, probably from the pharmacy. We especially appreciated the array of options offered at the presentations in the Club Lounge. We have visited many of Club Lounges throughout the RC array of properties and these offerings were certainly among the best. Particularly wonderful were the evening desserts prepared by the Pastry Chef, Patricia Serryburton. Most of the offerings were amazing; a few were knock-outs (that’s a compliment). All were beautifully presented. This is a fine hotel; for those who want the addition of the Club Lounge as part of their experience, we recommend the Club enthusiastically. It’s great to have the extra space just to relax, meet friends, read, or whatever—well worth the extra expense. And, with a dedicated staff like the one described above, this Club is hard to beat.…
Very Disappointed with the hotel and front desk service. Please check your bill at checkout because they try to pad it with “other” charges. They also incorrectly charged us for valet parking, different than what was stated on our email confirmation, 75 compared to 34. They charged us for bringing up empty plates. They were supposed to have it corrected on Monday when the finance dept was working, they never did. I had to follow up multiple times. Our room also smelled like Asian food; I believe because there is a restaurant on the main floor. Should have better ventilation. Shower floor not pitched correctly puddled up. Very poor attention to detail. We stayed in room 631 I believe. I called the front desk they completely ignored it. Overall, very poor customer service. Not what you would expect from the Ritz Carlton brand.…
My wife had a work conference at the hotel and through her company's largess, I tagged along. It served as the perfect base for my museum excursions and there are many great restaurants withing walking distance of the hotel. Service was very attentive. I, at least, enjoyed my brief vacation while my wife endured her conference.
Kudos to a caring and exceptional team at the Ritz-Carlton Washington DC. After reporting an issue due to another guest — completely outside of the hotel’s control — the management team stepped up and delivered over and above to correct the inconvenience. The hotel offers a modern and sophisticated luxury experience surrounded by renowned dining options. It has far surpassed its sister properties in the District from both an accommodation and service perspective. Many thanks to the entire team, especially Young Ji.
My issue with this hotel is poor communication and lack of accommodation when dealing with guests. I arrived early and asked for early check-in (I mentioned to the front desk person I forgot to request it beforehand) - his answer “we would not have been able to accommodate that any way”. Wow. Next he says, I will bring you keys to you as soon as they are ready, I told him I had a meeting at 1:30 and was trying to make that work. The room was not ready. In any event, perhaps just giving me and estimate on the timing initially would have been nice. Next, I just called and asked for late check out due to a business meeting & call that might run past 12pm. I asked for a 1pm accommodation. I was told my keys would be turned off at 11AM. I guess that is how the system works? But this is not RITZ quality communication style. Over it. I’ve got the Ritz booked in Maui later this year and I’m sort of questioning that. I guess this particular Ritz is more a machine than really the accommodating atmosphere I expect when booking the Ritz.…
Gone is the "stuffy" decor, and in its place, you will find a modern, stylish, art-deco-focus hotel that is not only luxurious as the reputation of the Ritz-Carlton namesake but a hipper, modernized comfort. The beds are firm but super comfortable and get ready to get lost in the plush comforters, sheets, and pillows. The service at this hotel is impeccable and all their staff is always so eager to make your stay memorable and exceptional.
