Great location but the taxi driver from the airport couldn't find it and dumped us quite a walk away :(
The room was fine (there was some noise from the street). The communal areas were kept clean.

Staying at Hi Washington DC for me set the benchmark as to what Hostels should be. The staff were absolutely amazing - approachable, friendly and quite knowledgable. There was free breakfast available every day of just about every kind of food you could possibly think...More

Hello, Sharon! This is Mark, and I work at HI Washington, DC (HI DC). Addison B had some very helpful advice. We have groups, large and small, stay with us from around the world, including Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. If you have 10 or more travelers, you'd want to speak with our Group Sales Manager, Nich. I'd enter his phone number here, but Trip Advisor does not allow that. However, you can click our dial the phone number at the top of HI DC's Trip Advisor page, next to our address. Have a great trip to our nation's capital! ~ Mark

Hello, PeterYibo! My name is Mark, and I work at HI DC. We do allow 16- and 17-year-olds to stay at the hostel, but we need documented permission from your parent or guardian (we have a form called a Minor Authorization Form). You'll need to contact us directly to receive the form. I'd type the address, here, but TripAdvisor won't allow that, so just check up at the top of the page.
And, yes, you can purchase a Metro pass close to the hostel. Metro Center is 4 blocks from the hostel where all Metro passes can be purchased. Have a wonderful trip! ~ Mark Schneider, HI DC General Manager
