Excellent hotel, reasonably priced, even during the NAFSA convention. Short walk to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Hotel was clean and staff was most helpful and friendly. I picked this hotel because of the reasonable price, location, and especially the ease of getting to the Metro Silver Line, which is just across the street! I'll stay here again!

It’s a little hard to write this review because it was an excellent stay on all fronts except they don’t provide daily housekeeping service. It is only provided every four days yet we were given one small bar of soap and one small shampoo and no extra towels. Of course we checked at the desk and they didn’t have any shampoo and only one bar of soap so we had to get toiletries elsewhere. On the positive side, the room was comfy and clean upon arrival and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. It was also an excellent deal. We stay exclusively at Hilton’s and have done so through covid and never encountered this problem before.

We recently completed a 5 night stay at this property.
The location combined with price point is what attracted us to this spot. We were not disappointed. The subway station is just around the corner from the hotel. It is only one stop away from Union Station which was fantastic as we took the train in! Next to Union Station is Capitol Hill!
Our first day there the air con in our room was weak. They sent an engineer up to inspect it and offered us another room - which was much cooler!
The staff is super friendly. Every day we were greeted with a hello.
The price point combined with convenient location with the bonus of excellent staff makes this a solid choice for a family looking for a convenient spot with a moderate price point.
Oh - and it has laundry! 2 bucks for a wash and 2 bucks for a dry! A bonus bonus when you're travelling with kids....or just want to wear your favourite shorts again!

The place is a dump. When you arrive, you run a gauntlet of people just hanging around smoking weed by the front door. The whole place smells of it to varrying degrees.

If you plan on doing laundry during your stay, bring your own change. There's no change machine, It also costs more than stated on the machine and the front desk may or may not give you quarters depending on who's working.

There's no room cleaning, toilet paper or fresh towels unless you ask and keep asking. There's a Keurig machine but you have to bring your own coffee. The refrigerator is only slightly above room temperature, so be careful with what you put in there and for how long. There was an iron and board as well as hair dryer. The bathroom vent fan didn't work. There's also a small microwave.

You have to bag your own garbage and they'll pick it up during the day outside your door.

Many buttons in the elevator don't work, but if you stay long enough you'll get the hang of it and can start training the new guests.

Although the room is pretty clean and bug free, the windows are dirty. There's nothing to put your suitcases on except the floor. Our room had no table and one chair.

There's a decent selection of overpriced junk food and soda in the lobby, but the freezer is empty and broken, so no late night ice cream binging.

The tv provides basic cable only with no guide. No pay per view option. No USB ports.

Staff for the most part is apologetic and friendly.

Valley parking is $43.00 per night and the guys are very nice.

The Lilley and cactus was open and we found the food very good.

Wouldn't stay at another Hilton after this.

If you want to pay luxury hotel prices for the experience of a low class seedy motel this is your spot. Definitely do not recommend binging children here as it is not a safe location with the proper security to handle the disturbances. And definitely do not use the valet if you do decide to come here. Paid $50 to valet over one night and a few additional hours the next day, and it took them 45 minutes to retrieve my car.

My husband, daughter, and I booked a double bedroom months ago at this hotel since my daughter has a volleyball tournament in DC. When we went to check in, 4 hours after the check in time, since we had just flown in from Detroit. The staff, and ultimately the manager, informed us that they hotel was completely booked, and they could no longer check us into for the hotel room that we had reserved since there were no rooms with double beds available, and we have to take what they had available. They said just because we booked a hotel and pay a deposit, does not mean we are entitled to the hotel room we reserved. We were not the only people who received this message. The only thing available was a king size bed, but no pull out beds were available. They committed that if we took this room, that the next day once people checked out, they would move us to a double room. For us all to sleep, we slept horizon on our king size bed, with our feet hanging over due to our height. My husband in the middle of the night moved to a chair, and slept in a chair for the evening. We also requested a 3 towel that never arrived, and no one on the service line picked up. Per their commitment, the next morning my husband went down to the desk to have us to get moved to the room we reserved. There was nothing available still, not until a gentleman walked in as my husband was working with the staff person on finding us a room, and cancelled his reservation. At that time, a double room became available. We moved rooms immediately since we had a tournament we had to go to, and we could not be late. Upon arriving back to our room after the tournament, we had to walk up the stairs since the EMS was at our hotel due to the fact that the elevator was not working, and a man was stuck in the elevator. I am unsure how this hotel meets code since the security guard was unaware of where the stair case was located. Fortunately, a staff person was able to direct us and other hotel guests through the kitchen, and up a stair case, that allowed us to go upstairs to our rooms since both elevators in the hotel was shut down to rescue the family stuck in the elevator that stopped working. After returning to the room, our daughter discovered that the shower was not working properly. We called maintenance, they arrived quickly, but the maintenance person said he was the only one working, and did not know how to fix it, and he would return the next morning with another person. My daughter rinsed off. No one came back the next morning. Luckily my husband is handy, and was able to fix the shower temporarily so the family could take showers. The hotel is dirty and non-functioning. We would have moved the next morning, but our daughter was tired and to keep it simple, asked we just stay one day, and then check out after the tournament was done, and we were not in the room long anyways. There are plenty of hotels in DC. I would 100% propose you not waste your money and energy to stay at this hotel, when there are other options.

We had to change rooms twice for different reasons. When we asked for towels to bathe, we were told there weren’t any clean towels available. The toilet didn’t flush in one room and the tub didn’t drain in another room.

One of the elevators was broken during the stay and it made getting to the room very difficult. There were homeless people in front of the door blocking the entrance. There was a half gallon of milk left in the fridge from the previous stay, which gave the room a smell. I am concern that the room was not cleaned throughly due to the fridge not being cleaned out. The bathtub kept backing up during showers which made for a puddle of water accumulating. As a vacation, it was very disappointing and made for a less than pleasurable experience. The amenities were also dirty! The hot tub was dirty and also lacked cleaning. The cleaning people did not come and clean the room or replace towels or take the trash. My husband had to go downstairs to get towels for my family and due to the broken elevator it took a very long time. It was very disappointing as a person who is a faithful Hilton customer, it was beyond disappointing.

Racially profiled and discriminated on for being Latino.

We asked for early check in and got denied while another person from a different race (African American) was allowed, while waiting we asked if we could have ice and water for our children, they told us ‘no’ the hotel for not provide ice or water.

We reserved the pool at 1pm, we got to the front desk to pick up the key at around 12:50 to find out our reservation had been given to someone else.

The straw that broke the camels back, we went to the pool and the jacuzzi was cold. We called and asked if the jacuzzi could be turned on and we were told it was off due to COVID. HOWEVER, a person from a different race (African American) came to the pool, noticed the jacuzzi was off, called, and they turned it on for her!!!!

We asked for towels, there are four people in our room and they only gave us two towels stating the hotel was out of towels.

Additionally, my room was tidy but not clean, my room did not have the clean seal like how it’s advertised.

Truly a horrible experience, I paid for the hotel experience when I could’ve paid half at an AirBnb.

The location in downtown was ideal. We have loved other Hilton Garden in locations in other Downtowns in the USA. However, this one for us was a disappointment. When we walked into our room, it smelled of old building or old pipes, or humidity. Maybe this was a remodeled old building. We proceeded to turn off the air conditioner, open the windows to air the room and that helped. However, once we closed the windows and turned on the air conditioner, I noticed the bad smell coming from the A/C unit. We also didn’t like the clientele/guests. This was an affordable option in Downtown, but we will definitely invest in other more upscale hotel option in Downtown next time. Also, there is a church close by and the bells ring every hour non-stop. Therefore, I was not able to sleep well. I think the walls and windows were thin enough to hear the after midnight city commotion from the 11th floor as if the windows were open. I do have to say that I observed that the lobby personnel were attentive to the guests helping them with their luggage and greeting them. Kudos to them.

Since valet parking is expensive and street parking non-existent at the hotel, using the Metro (DC Subway system) is your fastest way to get up and about DC. There is also a bus called the DC circulator which has various pickup and drop off stops around the national mall. So, if you get a Smartrip card (the DC rechargeable metro transit farecard) you can basically use the metro subway to one of the DC Circulator buses and hop on and off to the various monuments. Check out the metro wmata site on the web and plan your trips, or you can use the googlemaps. The DC transit system is very safe day and night just in case you have concerns about using public transportation.

It does depend on what airport. I don’t believe the hotel itself offers any sort of shuttle service. I flew in and out of BWI this time and took a cab from the airport...about $100. Took a train back for $7.
