Standing ovation for an everyday WOW experience.
All I can say is WOW!! The service is top notch. From the moment we walked in, the welcome we received was excellent. Check in was a breeze. I like to recognize Nabila and Daria first. They took the time to familiarize us we the hotel and the surrounding area. Daria emailed us recommendations in the area. When I asked is there a refrigerator in the room, Nabila said we do not but we can send a mini one to your room if needed. That response alone deserves a standing ovation. The hotel checked on us the next day by text and asked us if still wanted the room cleaned because we slept in. We texted them and the room was clean upon our return. Next amazing experience was I asked for a band aid for my wife and they both asked is she ok. They even followed up with me the next day. Michael Schotens, the Food and Beverage Manager took the time to talk with us in the bar every night. He is an amazing staff member. He recommended us to watch the fireworks from the room during the 4th of July. Great firework display. Other members of the hotel I would like to give a huge shoutout to is: Matthias, who is a great bartender, Ernesto and Kiki at the front desk. Rooms are spacious with plenty of drawer space. The nearest metro station is about a 10 minute walk. If you need a taxi, you can usually find a few parked in front of the hotel. Definitely stop by the bar for a drink, the staff is great. I can honestly say, I cannot think of another hotel in Washington DC I would stay at than the Conrad. Thank you again for making our anniversary trip a memorable one.

    Overall Excellent Stay
We stayed at the Conrad between Christmas and New Years during a family sightseeing trip to the DC area. This was my first stay in a Conrad hotel and overall, we were very happy with our hotel choice. The location is accessible to most museums and attractions in the city. We mostly used Uber during our stay but we did walk back from the Washington Memorial area one day and it was about a 20 minute walk that we enjoyed as the weather was nice. What stood out most about the hotel was the excellent service we received from everyone we encountered. From the front desk and restaurant staff, to housekeeping, valet and concierge staff, the service we received was welcoming, pleasant and consistent. I felt it was on par with what we have come to expect from hotels like the Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons. We had a minor issue with our room during our stay and it was resolved very quickly and with a great deal of care and attention. We booked our stay through the American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts program which included a hotel credit, daily breakfast for 2 and premium wi-fi (which is faster than the hotel's standard wi-fi). I thought this was worth it for the convenience alone of not having to leave the hotel for breakfast. We had the option of having breakfast at the restaurant or using the credits for room service however we opted to dine in the restaurant since we were visiting museums and headed out each morning anyway. The FHR program also includes early check in when available, and a room upgrade where available, however we arrived a couple of hours early and were unable to secure a room until about a half hour before the regular check in time. Additionally, the only room upgrades available are for king bed rooms, so unless you are a party of 1 or 2, a room upgrade is unlikely. While this was disappointing, it wasn't something we were expecting and we also understood that we were staying over the holiday break so the hotel was busy. Overall, it had little impact on our trip. The one area in which I think the hotel can improve is with their breakfast offerings. I don't eat much meat but especially limit beef and pork. However the breakfast buffet (which seems to be a weekend only offering and is a very good value as it includes coffee and juices) did not offer alternate meat options such as chicken sausage or turkey bacon. When I asked the staff about this the first day I was told that there was smoked salmon, however this wasn't quite what I was looking for and I was also a bit hesitant to eat smoked salmon at a buffet where it has been sitting out. The staff was accommodating and brought me some chicken sausage at no additional charge. However, because I didn't want to go through this ordeal every day, I opted against the buffet and just ordered pancakes and eggs from the regular menu for the remainder of our stay. However, as more and more people move away from beef and pork consumption, I think the hotel should consider offering non-beef/pork options as part of their buffet. Overall, we had a great stay at the Conrad during our visit to DC. I would recommend the hotel to others and would certainly return when I'm back in the DC area.

A full service luxury experience for business, or pandemic lockdown
High-gloss, modern luxury hotel that is all marble finishes and yawning spaces. There's a contemporary freshness in how the property is styled, so if you prefer a clean, minimalist look, you'll be very happy here. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, with very comfortable bedding, ample amenities of bathrobes, and soaps, and lots of power points, including USB ports. The gym is an enormous space of floor to ceiling windows, offering cardio machine varieties, as well as free weights, kettlebells, and machinery. The room service dining offerings are outstanding, and among the best I've ever had. Strongly recommend the roast chicken rigatoni. However, once the Covid19 lockdown commenced, hotel services were reduced; gym and all public spaces were closed, and on premise dining came to an end. The staff however went above and beyond - they were consistently proactive in informing me about what was happening with the property's plans to stay open, and kept me well furnished with latex gloves, bottled water, and even brought me gym equipment to use in my room. Thank you in particular to Vera, Christina, Jez, and Carlos. Not just great staff and pre-emptive servicepeople, but genuinely kind individuals.

The hotel’s facilities are very clean and so are the rooms. The bed was very comfortable. The only thing that I was lacking was a mini fridge in the room. The bar downstairs serves great cocktails and high quality bites.

Quite honestly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. A few shout outs to Jimmy, Ernesto, Zach, and Carlos went absolutely above and beyond to make sure we were fully accommodated! Our weeklong stay was perfect and very comfortable. Luxury products in the bathrooms, nice robes, nice bar/rooftop, everything was just excellent!! I would 100% stay here again. Very central location close to everything. Hotel staff gave us great recommendations and was always so welcoming, I don’t think I opened 1 door for myself.

A surprisingly bad stay at the Conrad this summer. As Hilton Diamond members we often stay at Conrad properties and this was by far the worst. The Bad - * Dirty dishes outside of room upon arrival. * There was no Concierge on duty for the duration of our 4 night stay. We were told he was probably out on the floor and so we checked back repeatedly only to be told later he was "off for a few days". Subpar for this level property. * Needed to call Security twice to complain about the belligerent guest in the room next door at 3:00 am. I understand this is out of the hotel's control however they admitted not even giving the guest a warning or addressing the matter. * Housekeeping rang the doorbell twice before 9:00 am while the "Do Not Disturb" light was on. We had arrived after 1:00 am so this was especially frustrating. * Very long lines at the check in desk at check in time with only one Employee at the desk. Good - * Nicely appointed, modern rooms * Comfortable beds * Good location

The room was excellent, very large and well appointed - hotel is also within walking distance to all main attractions. The Chief Concierge - Jeffrey Morgan also deserves a special mention - he was really helpful with a matter of lost luggage (not a hotel problem) - we was 5 star.

First day at the Conrad, booked via AMEX FHNR and I’m Hilton Diamond, yet get a basic room, and rooms not ready till about 5 pm. And AMEX FHNR says 12 pm subject to availability. They casually mention upgrade and early check in as well as lounge access not possible because we fully booked. My question- if you were fully booked- why are you offering 3rd night complimentary to get business. The hotel seems empty and of course we cannot check if they actually fully booked. But this hotel is a no go as is very very basic and don’t rely on your Diamond status or anything else. The previous reviews stress on the fact that they ask for extra payment for upgrades and actually send unsolicited emails for this. Very true. Be very very careful here. Not worth it. We still waiting to be checked in and yet- nothing. But if the hotel was fabulous and luxurious you could still tolerate it- very budget and run down!

Had a great stay here. Jimmy at the front desk was wonderful and went out of his way to get us in the Sakura Lounge. They were at full capacity so weren’t sure if we could be upgraded. It was an additional 170 per night for the lounge but worth it. Marco, Mimi, Ernesto, and Tom were a pleasure, everyone in the lounge was can’t remember everyone’s names forgive my brain. Sakura Lounge was open 24hrs, they served daily breakfast and themed dinner and unlimited beverages and light snacks. We had a whiskey wine tasting here, pretty chill. During our stay we visited the National Museum of African American History. We can’t wait to return. Until next time.

While the hotel and service were excellent overall, and most of the staff were absolutely amazing, the hotel sent me an email prior to my stay offering an expensive upgrade and a text upon check-in offering a food and beverage credit. When I checked out, it turned out that the offer a food and beverage credit was a mistake, so I was charged for food and beverages the hotel that had told me would be complimentary. Both the email and text were unsolicited and given the fact that the hotel did not honor their offer, I didn't appreciate being contacted in this way. I was essentially offered a meal credit but then after my stay the hotel said that the offer was a mistake and so I received a big bill. It was a surprising and disappointing way to end an otherwise very nice experience. I'd advise others to be wary of unsolicited emails and texts from this hotel.
