Stayed as a family of 4. Hotel was very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Ideal location for visiting local sights. Stone throw from the Whitehouse and great views from the roof top bar but make sure you book in advance as was quite busy. Only downfall was the bathroom in the room wasn't very user friendly for 4 people and no private area available to get changed and shower without everyone else hearing and seeing what you were doing. If it wasn't for this issue I would have given a 5 rating. Would definately go back to the hotel if visiting again

This two night stay was a business trip that i was able to get my wife along for. We never had the opportunity prior due to having small kids. But is so turned out that we could have them looked after. After reaching out to the hotel to inform them of the additional guest we were able to check in sooner than I had expected. Great on such a scorching day.The suite we were given was simply perfect for us and not only very spacious but had the best views of the local monuments. I never doubted the location but the longer we stayed I more and more realised we hat picked a great spot. The staff front front office to house keeping were present , engaged and delivered on all things I would expect from a hotel in this star bracket. Discovering a well equipped gym was a great bonus as well. The property had a terrace bar that was perfect for my lunch meeting. The upstairs rooftop bar VUE had killing view and again perfect setting for thew meetings I had latter that evening. That evening we found a real gem of a restaurant that was walking distance. We had a great night sleep. A hotel bed is always a worry a point of difference for me and my wife. We prefer the opposite. But we sleep well and the bed was deemed great. The following day we explored the city but foot. As most things were in walking distance and the heat was really pressing down it was a blessing to be Abel e to come back and take refuge in the cool lobby and have a drink at the lobby bar. Another day of meetings was ended with a nice dinner off premises. We had an early night and enjoyed our room a bit more. This was a great two day stay. We now have a place to return to when we come next. We are impressed to the point that we feel we owe ourselves to return as the city has so much more to offer. Thank you to all that made our stay so memorable

First, let me start by saying THANK YOU to Andrew(manager), Kim(concierge), and Mary(front desk). The three of you helped me pull off the birthday surprise I planned for hubby. These three are the epitome of what customer service is and should be. Every employee we interacted with had a smile on their face and was very approachable. Next, the view of the memorial from our room was awesome. Not only could you see the memorial you can see all the planes that were taking off. :) The location of this hotel is excellent, centrally located, and everything is within walking distance. The hotel breakfast was good, the food was hot, and the service was quick. The VUE rooftop bar/restaurant was amazing. The views, the vibe, and the drinks it was perfect. The dinner vibe is more conservative than the rooftop night vibe, but they were both great. Thank you Hotel Washington, see you soon!!!!

The images online did not give the hotel justice, as I was quite delighted at the quality of my Deluxe Queen Room for such a competitive price in the center of DC. Everything was beautiful and spotless, while housekeeping were amazing. Whenever I went out for the day i would come back to a cleaned and organised room with my items exactly where I left them. Overall excellent hotel and experience with the perfect location.

Had a great dinner at the VUE rooftop. Omar was our server - he was one of the best servers I’ve had in a while. Very hospitable and kind. He took great care of us and honestly he deserves a raise for sure!

CUSTOMER SERVICE: I originally booked my hotel room in April for a July vacation. After a long day of travel with a friend and co-worker (~18 hours), we arrived at the hotel only to be told they didn't have any 2-bed rooms. The receptionist asked if I was able to book a room with two beds. I was confused, since clearly I was, or he wouldn't have seen that was what my reservation was for. He asked if I booked recently, and I advised I booked in April. He was surprised and agreed they should have held a room for me. He and another receptionist talked at length in Spanish in front of me trying to figure out the problem, which made me feel uncomfortable. It took about 45 minutes of standing at the front desk to figure it all out. At the end of the day, they put us in a king suite with a roll-away bed. I accepted this, mostly because it was late and I was really tired and just wanted a bed. I found it interesting that not one time did anyone apologize - for anything. For messing up the booking, for the amount of time it took to sort it out, or for having to resort to a roll-away bed. I'm not saying the staff wasn't nice - they were, but they fell short of my expectation for customer service. They also charged me full price for the room I originally booked, which I don't think was right, either. There should have been a "Sorry you have to sleep on a roll-out bed" discount. HOTEL CONDITION AND LOCATION: The condition of this hotel was pretty nice. I found it very clean throughout. The location is tough to beat, being about as close to the White House as you can get. There is a convenient metro station a couple blocks away, as well as a Walgreens and CVS and many places to eat. My friend advised the king bed was comfortable, the roll away was what you'd expect. HOTEL DEMOGRAPHIC DRAW: The hotel had a steady draw on weekend nights for two of their bars, one of which that has an amazing view. During my stay, that crowd seemed to trend younger. I saw a lot of college-aged groups coming and going, which tended to be a little louder than your average bar scene and crowd. RECOMMENDATION: I often travel to DC and have reviewed many hotels. I was disappointed with the customer service on check-in. Not only did the hotel not honor a reservation I made 3-4 months in advance, they also failed to offer a discount for the inconvenience of their mistake or making me wait for so long to get a room. They also missed plenty of opportunities to apologize. I'm sure the hotel thinks the suite was a bonus, but it didn't feel that way for me sleeping on a roll-away bed. I will look elsewhere in the future because of my customer service experience, but did love the convenience of the location.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience the minute we walked in. It was raining when we arrived and the valet guys brought us umbrellas to walk us to the front door. Kim, from concierge, gave us great advice on how to make the best of our time site seeing. Rob was also very helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. If your up for the night scene then their rooftop bar/restaurant is amazing! Great views, drinks and music! I would highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in DC.

We arrived after getting stuck in a terrible storm in NJ, so we were drenched when we left the car at valet parking and entered the hotel. We were a group of three adults. The receptionist at check-in was curt, took one look at us and said "we are making a change to your room class ..". We had booked a Superior room, but were obviously downgraded to a base quality room. The room had no proper windows - frosted glass that looked over an interior well. When we entered the room the TV said "Welcome Kimberly". No one in our party was called Kimberly. The room was tiny, and really not big enough for three adults. The reason we booked a Superior room with two queen beds was because it was larger than the standard room. The bathroom had the creepiest wall paper imaginable - a peeping Tom. Yuck. After dinner we decided to have a night cap in the hotel bar. The cocktails were eye wateringly expensive and badly mixed. We all work in hospitality and know how to make and serve cocktails. This was not it. Overall, a very sub par hotel experience. Would not recommend this hotel.
