We stayed here a couple of weeks and found the hotel staff very attentive and courteous. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and roomy. Everything is well-maintained and in good repair. Pet-friendly, well-functioning WiFi and in a good location for local eats, coffee, groceries, and public transportation. Great to have the fridge and mini-kitchen but a few more pots/pans would be helpful. Breakfast is plentiful and varied but not super tasty. Too many disposable plates, cups and flatware, given they have enough reusable stuff. They offer snacks and drinks Mon thru Wed which is a nice touch. Two elevators required to get in and out - one from room to lobby and another from the lobby to the street level, and this is an irritant but it's likely for security. Parking, like everywhere in DC, is prohibitively expensive. Great place to stay.

My wife has decided that this hotel was unequivocally the best hotel we've ever stayed at. We're now driving back home to Miami, and she's looking around the hotel, which isn't bad at all, and sighing with regret. From the front desk, to the valet, to the breakfast....this hotel was amazing. Our room was silent. There was construction next door, maybe 30 feet from our window, and we didn't hear a single thing. We had the king room, so we had a king-sized bed and a sofabed for our son to use. The kitchen was nice, and there's a grocery store that's a 3 minute bus ride or 10 minute walk away. For an 8-night stay during the 4th of July (July 2-10), we paid about $1800 for the room. (I don't know if that's "mid-range" or "luxury"; for our finances, it was borderline luxury.) It was one of the cheaper places I found in DC for that time period, but there is nothing "cheap" about this place. Everything felt upscale. The parking, after tax, came out to $50 a day, but we used the Metro for everything and only used our car when we went to the Udvar-Hazy Space Center in Virginia. We also appreciated the smart tv that allowed us to sign in to our Netflix account. (It automatically clears your info when you check out.) Tip: if you're planning on using Metro to get around--and you absolutely should!--the nearest entrance isn't actually across the street. When you exit the hotel and go to your left, instead of crossing the street, turn left again. Walk to the end of the building, which is the next street down, and turn left. This is the same Metro station, but you don't have to cross the street. There's an elevator at this spot, too, in case you have to use one like I did. When we vacation in DC again--and I'm sure we will--we will definitely be staying here.

Very much enjoyed my stay at the RI Navy Yard. Relatively new with Marriott's very modern decor. Loved the huge step in shower! A huge number of places to eat and drink within walking distance. Will stay here again. Only complaint is a very short Evening Mixer that seemed to start late IMHO.

We are Marriott family loyalist and have stayed at a fair number of RI's. This one is the best we can recall. As frequent DC travelers, it's on the top of our list. Pro's: - The room was immaculate. Super clean and in perfect repair. You'd think it was brand new. - Location for us. Navy Yard neighborhood is near where we do business. One block from the metro. - Food service well above the RI average. Nice full breakfast buffet. M-W snacks and drinks were plentiful. Tu grill night was a meal. - Super friendly front desk staff. - Offer the green choice to skip housekeeping for points. Made good on those points (about a 50% proposition in our experience with Marriott hotels that offer it). - Grocery store is about a 4 block walk; extremely well stocked (Harris Teeter). Other notes: - Parking is pricey, like everywhere in DC. $43/night. There is a 24-hour garage within a block. Don't know the pricing or relative safety for overnight parking. We had a terrific stay. Definitely be back!

There was construction of a new building going on next door. Unfortunately they started working at 6 am. I had visited several cities on my trip and Washington DC was my last stop before going home. I was exhausted and was hoping to sleep in Friday, but the noise was too loud. I hoped the construction workers would be off on Saturday. That was also not the case. Aside from that, all other amenities were great.

Jose R, Thank you very much for your review of the Residence Inn Washington Capitol Hill/Navy Yard. I want to apologize for the construction noise you experienced during your stay. During your stay with us the District of Columbia was installing sensors in the bike lanes outside of the hotel. I hope that you will give us another opportunity to exceed your expectations on your next visit to Washington, DC. Travel well, John Chisman, MBA General Manager
