It's a good hotel but the parking rates are atrocious (as they are generally in DC). We stayed at this hotel a few years ago and chose it again because of its location. It's in the city center and close to the Mall, about 15 minutes of a nice walk. And it's what you should expect from a Westin, nice room, good service, efficient staff.

We checked in and checked out within 3 hours. Let me start by saying this hotel is in need of an update/remodel. Our room had a spot where the full length mirror once hung but at some point had fallen and it was not replaced. Just old looking and dated. If you are staying here Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday do NOT plan on enjoying any sort of beverage or food onsite. We decided to grab a drink at the hotel bar (that clearly states it is open on the website) only to be told that it’s only open Thursday-Sunday. Okay……and there are no other options open on property. There was also a man in the lobby that was asleep/passed out in the chair when we checked in….when we checked out a few hours later he had moved to the a table in the atrium….still passed out. We pointed this out to the front desk agent as we left It’s not busy…more like a morgue so not sure why they were so surprised when we told them about him. We moved down the street to the Courtyard. If you have a pulse, you’ll avoid this place a d pick another hotel.

My new wife and I chose this hotel because of its convenience to all the monuments and proximity to downtown. The hotel is situated in a perfect location that allowed us to walk for dining, quick grabs from CVS and Black Lives Matter Plaza. The White House is just a few blocks away! The staff were one of the best perks of our stay at the Westin. Kent greeted us upon our arrival and served as the area expert over the next few days. He was excellent at offering hot spots and great dining options. Two thumbs way up to Kent!! The hotel grounds are what I’d expect from the Westin brand since I stayed at Westin Kansas City just 3 weeks prior. It’s a clean property with modern decor. While the restaurant and bar was not open due to Covid restrictions, that didn’t bother me much since Kent had many alternatives available that were within walking distance. If we couldn’t actually walk to a location, there were the bike and scooter rentals available at just a couple of dollars so we had a great experience during our stay at Westin Washington DC central!

Thank you to the Westin Hotel for your outstanding customer service. My experience was pleasant and well received. Upon my arrival, I was greeted with a professional and positive "check-in" by Mrs. Estela Sunga and her colleagues. The courtesy and accommodations were greatly appreciated after a long flight from Southern California. My two day stay was pleasant and exceptional. I will return to the Westin at City Center for my additional business meetings. Thank you! Best regards, Greg Cervantes, President The Native Generations Group, LLC

I have stayed in countless hotels and nights, in almost all of the brands in the Marriott brand portfolio. The amazing service that I received at this Westin during my stay surpassed even my stays from the Ritz Carlton. I'll provide a thorough review of my experience at this hotel during May 2021. I encountered a rather significant service lapse during my stay which would under normal circumstances warrant a bad review, however the hotel staff, specifically Estela made up for it and more. I stayed here for 3 nights with my mother over a weekend and initially was booked into a standard room, but was generously upgraded to a 2 bed studio suite (I needed 2 beds, the suites here only have 1 bed). Chat Feature: Requested extra amenities and extra pillows prior to my arrival, and they were waiting for me when I arrived (no need to ask again!) Parking: Parking is Valet only and is quick and super convenient. You park your car in the front and I had no issues getting my car within 5 min of calling the front desk when it was needed. Check In: I was checked in with Estela, and this was where the service shown. I advised that it was a special occasion for my mom and if she could recommend any restaurants that had last minute reservations. To my surprise, she offered to get us reservations at a nice restaurant (RPM) and was able to follow up via email on the details. Wow! Very proactive. Room: The rooms are extremely clean and of generous size. Many of the rooms face the atrium but this is actually a great thing for light sleepers: it means that most rooms are whisper quiet and you can get a good nights sleep. The studio suites have outside views, as well as some rooms so if this is important to you, make sure to request or book a different category. During my first night, a pipe in the closet was leaking and as a result, the entire closet was wet, as was all my clothes that were hanging in the closet. I had an important event and when i advised the front desk, they immediately sent someone up to fix it, dry cleaned my clothes for free, and make sure I had a set of clothes ready in 20 min in time for my event. Estella and her team made sure I was taken care of. i was offered bonus points and free parking for my inconvenience and they promptly fixed the issue in the room. I was frequently checked up on, given more amenities, and upon check out, received a thank you and apology note with a chocolate box from Estella as a farewell. Food: Closed, so no free breakfast for elites. However, they have a small market and a microwave that people can use. There are lots of local restaurants within walking distance and a CVS around the corner for snacks and supplies. Gym: Generously sized - as expected for a Westin. They have a variety of machines and dumbbells and other equipment. There are even a couple pelotons. Reservations are not required and during my 3 trips to the gym in the evening, I was the only one there. Filtered Water, towels, and sanitizing wipes are available for use in the gym. Housekeeping: Is available on request only. They will clean the room if you ask and will send up any towels, amenities, etc that you need. Overall, this stay, although there was an issue in the room, was 5 stars because of the service provided by Estela. She truly needs to be promoted to be the brand standard when giving service to customers. I felt like I was the only one staying in the hotel , even though she likely helps hundreds of folks everyday.
