My wife and I celebrated our anniversary in DC this year as she wanted to see the cherry blossoms. The Mansion was recommended to us by friends, and it didn't disappoint! H, Ted, and the entire staff was amazing in their efforts to make us feel at home during our weekend trip. The Mansion just has a feeling that is...

Reading about the history of these homes is the most interesting thing about this Museum. There are hotel rooms in the homes, but we did not stay there, nor would I. Rooms, halls, closets, bookshelves, even bathrooms are cram-packed full of junky, bad art and bad knick-knacks. Popped for the $30 tour on Groupon with a glass of cheap champagne...

Hi jdandkdtravel, Starting with the cost, your review is not accurate. Your tour was only $18, and included a glass of champagne. Its a shame you left so quickly. The day you were here, you could have seen one of the most famous rock legends and his band, writing music, in one of the common rooms. The Mansion and O...

Normally we appreciate constructive feedback but this guest tried to scam us for a free stay and we didn't allow it. We are not a standard hotel, we are a unique experience — a 5 star property — because we give more, have great rooms, and as they said, our staff is first class. They arrived at 9am (check-in is...

I bought our tickets at Groupon while trying to look for something to do. This was a great find. We did the champagne tour. This tour was truly unique. The mansion is a combination of a hotel, museum, and mystery tour. There were over 70 hidden doorways and we could only find 7. This was a great way to spend...

Who does not love hunting for secret doors and passage ways?! We were there for two hours and found only 3 but I will return and find more for sure!! Great music memorabilia and political kitch too! Rooms were elaborate, theme filled, and fun. Staff extremely helpful and we were lucky enough to run into owner who shared several demo...

The Mansion is a unique stay. There are antiques, art, musical instruments, hats, secret passages and more. We loved the Champagne Tour and the Hidden Door Hunt. Our room was completely private. However, we loved chatting and jamming in the public rooms. The mansion is nothing like a hotel. It's more like staying in a museum/very rich townhouse. It's a...

If you've ever wanted to visit the Clue gameboard, or spend the night in an Agatha Christie mystery, this is your place. With guitars. Lots and lots of guitars. And musical nuggets. Studio tapes of the Doors, Beatles and Bruce working out lyrics in real time. Fascinating. The rooms are kitschy and rambling, but the whole experience is really, really...

The Mansion is a museum, an events space and a hotel. How does it stack up as a hotel ? Well if you are booking you know it is not a conventional hotel - rooms stuffed with curios, no restaurant or guest amenities. All that is fine and indeed welcomed. My problem with it was perhaps mainly with the room...

Who wouldn't love a big old mansion full of secret doors? The house is filled, top to bottom with unusual collectibles and secret entrances. Everything is unique, down to the bathroom fixtures. The scavenger hunt was a lot of fun!
