This is a beautiful place to stay when visiting Trinidad. The hosts are amazing, really went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable and welcoming stay. The owner’s son speaks English and recommended great places for dinner. The rooms are very comfortable and the outside patio is enchanting. Magical location. Highly recommended! Can’t wait to return.

Deborah and Jose, and the rest of the family and staff were so welcoming. The hostal was beautiful, the food delicious and plentiful, and the accommodations clean and comfortable. The interior courtyard is a bonus, which we saw in an evening thunderstorm and sunny mornings--a stunning place to begin and end our days. Jose takes great pride in his craftsmanship and hard work restoring this home, and gave us a tour of new rooms under renovation. Excellent amenities and we learned a bit about how things like water, and water pressure work in a place with a very different infrastructure than what we have in our city in the U.S. For an old building nerd, and a former metalworker, we really connected with what Jose and family have accomplished in bringing this 1850s home back to life and that made for a memorable stay in Trinidad for our first visit. We would book another stay should we get back to Cuba.

The family has been gradually renovating this mansion from the 1840s, one room at a time. I stayed two nights in their first room and was totally charmed by the exposed brick, beautiful tile, and the sound of rain on the roof. The bathroom is nicely done. We had a sumptuous dinner, and breakfast consisted of plentiful (and beautiful) fruits, breads, coffee, juice, and eggs. The location is great, just off Rosario Street that leads to the central plaza. Carlos showed us improvements planned or under way, including rooms upstairs and a rooftop deck. The casa will be even more special then.

The owner family are great people. They are very helpful in all means including support for transportation. They serve great breakfast, the house is so beautiful and the rooms are comfortable, clean and very well working air conditioned. We had great time with Jose, he is intellectual as well.
