Our family just loved our 2 night stay over New Years at Delamore Lodge. The staff were friendly, very accommodating and well organised. The refurbished 2 bedroom house was perfect for our teenagers and provided enough space to enjoy our holiday without driving each other crazy. The food was extremely consistent, delicious and creative. Nice touches with shortbread and brownies on tap at all times! Stunning views and weather…..memorable. Highly recommend for something special.
WOW! What a beautiful location. Stunning views! Beautiful lodge and room. THE FOOD! Delicious - we chose the 5 course and didn’t know what we were having for each course. Each dish was incredible. To make my surprise getaway even more spectacular, my partner proposed to me during our time at Delamore Lodge. A memory to never forget. Thank you Sarah for being the best host. Thank you to all the staff who made it so special. If you want a touch of luxury and special - this is your place!
Delamore Lodge is a beautiful Italian inspired luxury property with four guest suites and two-bedroom apartments. The lodge is located on Waiheke island, 35 mins ferry ride from Auckland ferry terminal. You can relax in the deep jacuzzi, or sauna or hire e-bikes to get you around. The surrounding area has some fine dining options as well as great winery called Mudbrick for tastings. Delamore Lodge offers a fine dining degustation dinner with 6 courses, which was amazing! Such a spectacular private place to relax, unwind, enjoy the evening canapes and drinks while enjoying the view out to the bay. Perfection!
We recently spent a fantastic weekend at Delamore Lodge, complete with helicopter transfer. It is a wonderful place: great location, superb views and wonderful rooms. It was, however, let down by the small things, mostly service-related. Staff were lovely but thin on the ground. Sarah (the manager) was great and super helpful, but she was let down by the chap helping her and could have done with some extra support. Some things were well done (spa, massage treatments, breakfast, room fit outs), but here’s a few examples of what you don’t expect for $1.5k per night: - Gin & tonic came with flat tonic and no lemon on the 2nd night. - They had a very limited drinks selection eg no malt whiskies, Baileys or Aperol. - Dirty dishes in the room from lunch / canapés weren’t cleared away until the next morning. - There was no turn down service. - The taxi they’d ordered for us was booked for the wrong time (they fixed it well though). - the first night we were served (delicious) canapés on the terrace. The second night we were told we would get them in the room - no choice offered. - The nice French chap got very confused with bookings and kept insisting he’d booked us into Oyster Inn at the wrong time. The helpful chef pointed out his error. - Another couple experienced similar issues - they could never get a beer (only 2 types available apparently) and had to go fetch a lemon and cut it themselves. These little things were niggles and didn’t really detract from what was a wonderful weekend. They became quite amusing... What’s annoying is that they are really easily fixed (better / more staff and a bit more care). The owners need to give Sarah some more support if they want to keep it at the top of the ratings. Or lower the price to meet expectations. It also needs a bit of a refurb as some of it is looking tired. We were lucky enough to have been gifted the experience so only had to pay for one extra night. Others weren’t so fortunate...…
Our cruise holidays in ruins due the Corona virus, we decided to try to recoup our vacation. Booked at Delamore Lodge, OMG what a great choice we made. The lodge is beyond beautiful with extraordinary views, excellent food and the owner is warm and so accommodating. Lots to do despite the slowing down of tourism on Waiheke. If you are stuck in NZ or can’t go away on holidays, this’d is the place to come!!!
