Jonathan and his staff have created a magical oasis on a magnificent island. From the moment you walk in the door you realise the Boatshed is very, very special. By the time you leave (which you won't want to) you appreciate the level of detail, care and planning that has gone into creating this wonderful place for your enjoyment. Unless... More

Having stayed at The Boatshed a number of years ago, we were hoping that it was still world class. We were not disappointed...the room, the food and particularly the staff were top class and we look forward to a return visit in the near future.

I can't say enough about this magical place. We stayed in April for the last 4 nights of our honeymoon. You feel like you are staying at someone's private luxury beach house. The staff and service... amazing. Rooms... breathtaking and having dinner there cooked by a personal chef with ingredients grown in their garden. Nothing beats this place!!

We have been lucky to stay at the Boatshed on two occasions, and we always meant to write a proper review for everyone's benefit. The first visit blew us away - the understated wonderfulness of everything, cool and interesting design, so many subtle details that just work, having your wishes anticipated, brilliantly simple food, outstanding local wine (Obsidian Chardonnay) and... We stayed in the Boatshed for our honeymoon and we had an absolutely amazing time. The owners were really friendly and helpful, pushing the boat out to ensure that we had a really special time. We were treated to delicious fresh snacks when we arrived and given excellent advice on how to spend our day (white sand beaches to ourselves... More

We only spent two nights. Wish we had stayed a month. We went upscale and rented one of the entire homes (cottages). Everything was perfect from the moment you arrived. The soft music vibe, the openness to the sea, the inviting staff, the gardener and owner. The breakfast was custom made daily farm to table (feet from the veggies) and... More

This venue presents a real problem. I am usually the harshest of critics, something must be exceptional for me to give it 5 Stars. Well what do I do? The Boatshed changes everything. Can I give 10 Stars?! If 5 is the maximum then everything else needs to move down 1000%. The accommodation, the food, the service, all perfect. There... More

Just back from an overnight stay at the Boatshed. We were blessed by the weather gods and had a perfect few days on Waiheke. We stayed in one of the 3 'boatsheds' and loved it. Compact but it has everything you need and is very tastefully decorated. Loved the Cape Cod chairs out front which were completely private. Didn't think... More

We recently stayed at the Boatshed for 3 nights and we really enjoyed everything about it. We travelled to Waiheke Island by helicopter from the airport and it was a spectacular flight - highly recommend this as a way to arrive. On arrival at the Boat Shed we were greeted with a cheese plate and a glass of wine -... More

If you are going to Waiheke Island of Wine consider staying at The Boatshed. I was looked after like a queen and loved my room and it's comforts - liquorice allsorts and Anzac biscuits :) Thank you Jonathon, Victoria, Lily, Fred and staff for making my stay so memorable. Breakfasts were delicious as was lunch and dinner. The view is... More
