Sadly we booked for 3 nights. It was very expensive for what it was and it was very dated and quite small compared to a motel we used in Nelson. The owners were very nice but.....There was supposed to be free wifi. I managed to download my emails once over the 3 days and only when I was in the...

Motel is very dated but clean (except for cobwebs on ceilings). We were a party of 7, most beds were comfortable, rooms were roomy. Location within walking distance from town and quiet. Friendly hosts. Fruit trees on property, guests could help themselves.

Dated yes, but also comfortable, very clean and friendly - these three are more important to me than a modern looking floor! Quiet too and only a few mins drive from town and the ferry terminal. Our room had a fully equipped kitchen too, perfect for whipping up an easy steak dinner. After 10 days touring Nelson we just couldn't...

Ugh, only stayed here because we couldn't get enough time in our other motel. This place is a joke. Hosts indifferent, room very small and so dated. It was very clean and that was it's only redeeming feature. The cooker was small with an oven and grill with what we thought was a dangerous hotplate that apparently served to heat...

Very clean rooms and lovely smelling soaps. A bit older are of building but roomy. Situated just short walk from town centre and a nice local hotel that has great kiwi meals. Staff were very friendly.

Lovely owners, Pete and his wife Karen were very pleasant towards me and my family. We found nice clean and tidy rooms with comfy beds. We needed to make changes with our booking and found it was no trouble, everything was chilled and easy. Conveniently situated close to town, just a short walk from the high street. Highly recommend to...

Once again I have chosen to stay at the Marlin Motel. We arrived after coming over on a late ferry and found it very cosy to arrive at the motel and the heater had been switched on. The bed was comfortable and the unit was clean tidy. The hosts are really friendly and make you feel welcome. Would recommend this...

After having a bad experience with Hertz car hire (the office was shut after-hours even though we had been told somebody would be there to greet us with our key - stay away from Hertz!), we were stranded in Picton after getting off the ferry late at night. We told the lady in the information office at Picton who rang...

Loved the 1950's patterned carpet - and the carpet on the wall of the main room - yes really... Comfortable bed, had all of the things we needed for a night before getting ferry the next day. Would probably stay again so not as bad as some of the other reviewers thought ;-)

Having spent THE last two months+ in Many motels in Australia And NZ, this was THE worst. Expensive with few redeeming factors. Free WiFi but TV selection limited, despite high price. I guess that when you are near the Ferry to Wellington, you can charge What you want. Poor value for money.
