Family of 5 (2 adults 3 children 14,11,5) staying in a 2 bedroom room. All kitchen facilities and bathroom. This small complex has undergone renovations. The rooms are very comfortable and have new modern decor. The owners are warm and welcoming and also own a restaurant a few doors down called the Thirsty Pig (discount for staying at the motel).... Not a fancy place to stay but was perfect for our needs. It is run by a very sweet couple who was more than happy to help with directions and suggestions. Great location near everything you would want for food, drink and entertainment. Also very easy walking distance to the ferry to the North island.

Friendly staff at check-in. Rooms are dated but clean. Within seconds of walking to shops and bars. Given a discount to the Thirsty Pig ... good lamb roast! Great place to stay overnight, though rooms can be a bit noisy if windows are left open. At $130 the room is good value. If you are looking for higher end accommodation... More

Clean and tidy place to stay in Picton's main street. It's very close to a number of good bars and restaurants, and at the end of the street the waterfront and a great playground. Didn't expect to have to clean the wine glasses before using, but otherwise was really good.

My partner and I stayed here the night on the 26th and enjoyed it! Picton had some stunning weather which made it even better. The owners were so lovely and we enjoyed playing with their gorgeous dogs! My only gripe was that the water pressure in the shower was really average, and the bed was a little bit hard for... More

We were in Picton for only one day as we were on a cruise. However, the minute we walked in the door of The Thirsty Pig we were made to feel SOOO welcome that we stayed for much longer than we had intended. We understand that the owners have only been there for a short while but what wonderful, welcoming... More

one night stay following ferry crossing. The unit was clean but dated. The shower was very poor. Only a small heater provided which we had to keep on through the night as weather was appalling. Staff were helpful and friendly Parking on site was a benefit as we were travelling with a large camper van

First place I've stayed where I've taken my shoes off and let my feet touch the floor. Superbly clean room, comfortable bed and little details that make it a home away from home. But beware! If you're not used to being charged for early check ins take note that they do here. And they don't tell you about it until... More

The proprietors were very friendly and our dog was welcome in the "dog unit". This was down an alley and out the back of the complex, looking at another alley, old sheds and the building next door. It was considerately fenced off with a water bowl and lead supplied. The unit was very old, very cold and scruffy. We appreciate... More

We arrived in Picton to find our evening ferry sailing canceled, so we urgently needed to find a place to stay for 3 people and a dog at very short notice. Thank goodness for this place! The couple who run it are very friendly and helpful, we made the booking over the phone and arrived a few minutes later. There... More
