Most gorgeous cottage with open fireplace. Best bed that we have ever slept in. Lovely garden setting. Did not use the outdoor bath due to rainy weather but this would be fun! Plenty of firewood and kindling replenished daily. Ideally suited to family of 4.

I stayed in Kokopu Cottage for two nights and it was lovely. I booked it for the outdoor bathtub and it was heavenly. I didn't know how to light the fire to heat the water so Wendy and Mark helped me out with that and I had a lovely hot soak in the cool evening breeze. It was a divine... More

In April 2015, my husband and I spent the first few days of our honeymoon at Kokopu Estate. The experience was magical. The property is lovely and sprawling, with fruit trees and a sheep pasture. We stayed in Potager Suite, which is upstairs in the main house. The suite was well-equipped with a tea kettle, a huge bathtub, matching bathrobes,... More

The location is remote and rustic though not hard to reach. Owners are helpful and willing to assist. We stayed couple of nights here and loved the quiet location. It is ideal for a good rest and relax.

We stayed in the quaint Kokopu Cottage for 3 nights. It had a rustic feel but was well kept and clean with a very comfortable bed, comfortable couches and lovely log fire. We didn't have any issue with hot water and found the shower great. We loved the fantails and the geese wandering around as well as the little stream... More

This is a B&B in a beautiful setting and has great views from the top of the hill. It is approx. 5 minutes drive to the town for supplies and meals as cooking within the cottage is very limited. A microwave toaster and elec. skillet is it... so no gourmet cooking. The bed is comfy but I would describe the... More

We were celebrating a wedding anniversary and had only ever had a day trip to Akaroa so decided a weekend away would be a good opportunity to explore. We couldn't have chosen a better place. We opted for the Gatekeepers Cottage which adjoins the main farmhouse, but is completely independent. It was delightful with all the necessary amenities and touches... More

We stayed a week. The estate is in a beautiful estate but it is a little far from the village, so it's not convenient. The room looks beautiful, a country feel, but not very clean. The frying pan still has the leftover grease and food bits left by the previous occupants and all the plates etc were very greasy and... More

We stayed three nights in the Gatekeepers Cottage at the end of March towards the end of our touring holiday around New Zealand and were impressed by the tranquility of the place - all we could hear was the trickle of water into the goldfish pond and bird song. The cottage is ideal for a couple wanting peace and quiet.... More

We initially booked 2 nights at Kokopu Estate but extended our stay as we enjoyed the accommodation and the area so much. The extension worked out without any problems. We stayed in The Gatekeepers and the Kokopu Cottage – lucky us; both accommodations are really great, but have a different purpose. The Gatekeepers Cottage is perfect for shorter stays where-as...
