Beaufort house by far exceeded all of my expectations. To start, the house is magnificent and in prestine condition. Whether you are enjoying evening drinks, a warm shower, a sleepin or a magnificent breakfast in the breathtaking dining room you are in for a treat. The only thing that exceeds the house itself is the warm and genuine hospitality offered by your host, Sharon. You will not be disappointed.

Please do not miss this exquisite B & B on your trip to Akaroa, which is a quiet, delightful seaside town away from the hustle and bustle of Christchurch. We stayed two nights and would preferably stayed three. Our room was perfect. The bed was soft and comfy, our bathroom well-lit and appointed. Heated towel bars, soft towels. He surrounding gardens are private and lush, featuring hydrangeas, wine grapes, and fuchsias. Sharon and Noel are the most delightful hosts — full of amazing stories, good travel advice, and witty repartee over wine or the beautiful breakfast spread (complete with Manuka honey and homemade jams).

Stayed here twice about 2 weeks apart. The first while on a motorcycle tour, and secondly returned with my wife after the moto trip. The reason of course were the hosts, Sharon and Noel. As others have mentioned the Victorian house is beautiful and the property has a huge unique tree (only 2 in NZ) plus a small vineyard up the hill. Loved the conversations with the other international guests as well as with the hosts. As also mentioned by others, the breakfasts in the formal dining room were a delight to say the least. Edith Piaf singing quietly in the background was an added treat. Great wine and treats at cocktail hour too -- Beaufort House's own Pinot Noir!

A beautiful B and B up the hill in Akaroa away from the crowds. Beautifully decorated, our room though small had a sunny balcony and a perfectly adequate bathroom. Breakfast was an exceptional affair in the beautifully set out dining room with every attention to detail. We also enjoyed a great early evening drink with all the other guests, an international crowd, on the terrace, accompanied by delicious nibbles.Essential to book as it is not such a well kept secret.
