Acapella Lodge is a charming B&B with stunning views of Akaroa harbour set on the hillock of Smith Street in middle of the town which is just a 2.5 hour drive from Christchurch. The owners of this lovely accommodation are Linda and Ray Shoebridge who are very friendly and will most certainly make you feel at home, this was aptly... More

we stayed for 2 nights , taking advantage of the special offer which included a sail up Akoroa Harbour on Ray's yacht to view the wildlife. As soon as we arrived Linda and Ray were plying us with a glass of wine so the hospitality is second to none ; Comfortable bed and spotless accommodation; unfortunately the weather was wet... More

We were weary travelers but as soon as we approached the front door of the Acapella Lodge the weariness immediately began to melt away. We were delighted by a personalized welcome note that was posted at the front door. Linda, our lovely hostess, ensured we were well oriented to our new surroundings giving us a tour of the spacious and... More

Full run of a beautiful home is provided and our social evening by the excellent pool, enjoying a convivial drink, in a magnificent setting, also greatly enhanced our stay. All of the facilities could not be faulted and the proprietors go... More

Akaroa was my first port of call on my South Island adventure. After a pleasant drive (coastal route) from Christchurch I arrived in this sleepy seaside haven. From the warm greeting from Linda (and the complementary glass of red) to the amazing gardens that look out over the bay and then to the house itself. It is an amazing piece... More

We arrived in Akeroa on a beautiful sunny afternoon in late November. All the accommodation we had considered was full and we were directed to Acapella Lodge by a local hotelier. We had few expectations – we just wanted somewhere decent to stay. Then the surprises began! We were met at the gate, given a glass of wine,& an invitation... More
