We are a modest middle class hotel. Built in 1890 and put to a new use as a bed & breakfast; enjoy the charm of our landmark hotel in a friendly, informal atmosphere. Only an 8-10 minute walk from the train station, we are the perfect base to explore the region, close enough to enjoy the best views in town of the Staubbach falls but far enough away to stay dry.
The staff at Hotel Staubach were wonderful. From the moment we walked through the front door, we felt welcomed. They were very helpful with recommendations for restaurants, must-see villages, and tours. The rooms were all very clean and had beautiful views of the mountains and Lauterbrunnen. One day after I left, I received an email stating that I had forgotten my medication in the nightstand. They were kind enough to ship it back to America, at no charge, which went above and beyond all of my expectations. I cannot thank them enough.

This was my second stay in this hotel the past seven years and it still surprises me. The free breakfast serves a variety of swiss food, bread, cheese, bacon, hard boiled egg , corn flakes. etc. The front desk even loaned us a pair of umbrella so we can still enjoy our walks in the rain. Adam, who was at the front desk was so kind and helpful and gave us more information/tips to make our stay more enjoyable and relaxing.

We booked a room facing the waterfall with a balcony. The view when you wake up is stunning. You definitely do not see that every day. The hotel is near 100 years old and so there is no need to try and make it modern. I really feel it would mess up everything. The welcome drink with staff was a nice touch. The shower was comfortable with good pressure and hot water. I appreciated that the hall/bathroom area could be closed off separately. We wish we could have tried breakfast but had to leave in a rush. This hotel was exactly what we were looking for

We've stayed here before and wanted to take our friends here for their trip to Switzerland. Lovely place in a lovely location. Rooms were great with connecting balconies and a tremendous view down the valley and of the larger waterfall. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good and the location is great as you sit and look out at the mountains and the waterfalls. Very easy access to the train-station and numerous restaurants. Great easy hiking up the valley from the hotel. I really liked the fact that you can get coffee or tea downstairs all the way till 10 at night. We didn't move our car the entire time we were there because everything was so convenient. This is the only place we would stay when in this area and it should be the only place you stay also.

Hotel Staubbach was amazing. Great rooms and wonderful service that made us feel so at home. The view of the Staubbach Waterfall from the balcony is breathtaking. My only recommendation to the management would be to add another set of pillows that are firmer to the rooms. Finally, the breakfast is amazing; it has a lot of variety and left us feeling full and satisfied—ready to take on our hiking in Alps which is easy to do because the hotel is not far from a train station that can take travelers to some great hiking spots with trailheads at over 2000 meters.

This is at best a 2 star hotel If you like being woken during the night by a bell from the church right outside, by then, by all means, choose this hotel. The beds are horrifically uncomfortable. The pillows don't even qualify as pillows because they have no role stuffing to them. There are no TVs. The hotel invites you to use the refrigerator to store things such as beer and other items I chose to store four beers in there and they were gone the next day. Owner took no accountability for it and didn't even apologize when you invite people to use an amenity then you better make sure it's safe from people stealing from it. The others also posted this ridiculous sign saying don't let water run on the floor or you would pay the damage. Please see photos. Newsflash you can't damage tile with water.🙄…

Within sight of the Staubbach Falls, the hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the Lauterbrunnen valley. It is quintessentially Swiss in its style with clean and spacious rooms. Breakfast was plentiful and the 24hr free coffee and tea was a nice touch. On a side note if you are a Bond OHMSS fan for which Lauterbrunnen was a key location the hotel is in scenes where Bond and Tracey are trying to evade Blofelds henchmen, which is a nice extra

We had a wonderful stay! Perfectly located within short walking distance to train station and the waterfall trail. We booked a family room for our family of four which was two connecting rooms and one bathroom. The rooms are very large so we had plenty of space to spread out. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Switzerland. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Special mention to the young staffer who let me into the luggage room several times while we waited for our room since my family kept forgetting stuff. I didn't catch his name but he was amazingly friendly and didn't mind my multiple requests! I highly recommend this hotel and Lauterbrunnen in general. It's a beautiful location and we can't wait to go back!

Location of the hotel is excellent. 10 mins walk from the Lauterbrunnen train station. The rooms are big and we had a huge balcony overlooking the Staubbach waterfall. Both the room and washroom were big. We loved the staff who were extremely helpful and they have a lovely ambience in the restaurant on the ground floor with the waterfall view. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Switzerland.

Very friendly and nice old hotel. An excellent location for hiking Lauterbrunnen and taking the railroad to the Jungfrau. We spent 3 nights here and found the staff very friendly and accommodating to our needs. The rooms were clean and roomy.
