A fantastic little chalet with probably the best views of the Lauterbrunnen valley. Owner Elsebeth is friendly and good-natured. It's perfect for BASE jumpers, complete with carpeted packing area downstairs and a short walk to the gondola and station. The kitchen is well-equipped for preparing meals, which is ideal for jumpers on a food budget. Everything is kept clean and... More

I stayed here for a week in July 2015 with my 11 year old twin daughters and 12 year old niece. We were able to get a room with four beds with doors opening out onto the balcony. We had our own sinks, but the shower and toilet are shared. We would take the train each day to a different... More

Had a great holiday with Goldhill Holidays. Great fun for children as well as adults. Very Organised and lots of choice regarding daily activities. My son loved the walking, outdoor pool, great playgrounds. Transport was fantastic as was included in the price. This included trains and lifts in the Jungfrau region. Great stay at the Chalet Im Rohr. The landscape... More

Fantastic location near waterfall, friendly owners, spacious room, very clean, sink in room. The hotel is old, walls are not noise proof and the floors creak loudly when walking around (this is not great at night) however the benefits of this place outweigh the negatives. I would stay here again.

The hostel is in a very old chalet building. It is quirky and has lots of character. But for the price (especially because things are expensive in Switzerland), it is very good value for money. The kitchen has all that you need to prepare meals, there is a large dining area and a smaller lounge area. I was worried about... More

The Im Rohr is such a great place to stay. It is an old traditional Swiss chalet with great views and all you need to feel at home. Loved the balcony with the views of the cliffs and waterfalls. Very nice kitchen and dining room with all you need to cook your own food. Shared bathrooms and showers are nice... More

For the money, you can't beat this place. Almost everything in Switzerland is grossly overpriced IMO, and staying here can provide one of the rare occasions that one doesn't feel ripped off. It's not a "nice" hotel - it is a very old building with creaky floors, shared toilets, weak wifi, and caved in century old beds.... but it's cheap!... More

I love going and coming back everytime to the Chalet. It's a very traditionnal swiss Chalet, yet super comfortable and cosy. The scenery from the rooms is amazing and the location is ideal (center of the village). Can't find a better deal in town ! Staff is super friendly. I would recommend the Chalet for couple, family and friends on... More

I spent a night at Chalet im Rohr in June. I was initially planning to spend two nights but then a friend invited me to spend a night with him in Bern. So around 10 am the second day (check out time is 9 am), I asked Elsbeth (the manager and owner) if I could leave a day early, and... More

Elsbeth runs the inn and was so very welcoming. The inn in very comfortable, quiet and has an unbelievable view of the valley. It's only a 10 minute walk from the train station in Lauterbrunnen. The rooms are furnished comfortable with basic appointments, a kitchen and dining area are available if you choose to cook. There is no reason to... More

“Not all rooms have balconies I think. We stayed in Room 33 (has a shared balcony), opposite it was a toilet that was mostly used only by 4 rooms (if all occupied, toilet was always free whenever we wanted it). It has a lower ceiling at the beds, and you can hear people walking on the floor upstairs. Room 33 is at the front of the building.”
