The Ozadi Hotel is located just outside Tavira centre on the N125 main coastal road. The hotel was recently refurbished and has a large outdoor pool area within its own landscaped grounds. We had dinner in the Orangea Restaurant and the food and service was excellent. I ordered the suckling pig which came with mashed potato and rocket lettuce. My partner ordered the prawn risotto. Both dishes were well prepared and served - with a smile! Thanks to Joanna in the restaurant for making our visit so memorable. We have already recommended this hotel and restaurant to our friends.
Hotel is €8 taxi away from Tavera, but they have a free shuttle service. €50 taxi from Faro. Lovely clean and friendly hot. Big bed rooms and bathroom which are well equipped. Bed were very comfortable and cleaned very well on a daily basis. Breakfast is 5 star with a huge choice of Fruit, Fry, cheese, meet, fish and pastries which were well stocked constantly by the staff. Two pools, one for toddlers other was great for a swim or play in. Loads of sunbeds and places to sit around the pool with memory foam type beds on one side. No need to get up early to reserve a bed as there was plenty available. Staff on hand if drinks were required or just walk up the stairs and sit in the restaurant. Kids club available, at the pool, and in the evening with staff very friendly and attentive. Had dinner there which was delicious and good value but menu was a little limited for a long stay. As the weather was 33 degrees and our first time in the sun we didn't go to the beach. Some nice touches such as flavored water available in the foray which was great to stop you dehydrating.…
I chose this hotel as it was reasonably priced with free parking and close to the main motorway to Spain. I was very pleased with it, my room was a single, nice toiletries, minibar and nespresso machine. I didn’t have dinner in the hotel but did have breakfast, the breakfast was fantastic, orange juice that was very tasty and a beautiful fresh fruit salad as well as the usual eggs, bacon, pastries etc. I couldn’t fault it and it was much better than some of the high priced business hotels I stay in for work. The pool was good and the hotel surroundings were very nice, breakfast is served on the 3rd floor and you can dine outside with views to the sea. I highly recommend this hotel and plan to visit with my wife next time as this trip was to watch football in Seville.
We had a great stay at Ozadi last week. The pool and rooms were lovely and the staff were really friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We really enjoyed the food and would definitely recommend it as a place to stay in Tavira.
Fantastic, peaceful hotel. The hotel common areas, pool and our room were exceptionally clean. The room we got was very spacious. The food in the restaurant was delicious, especially the tapas. Most importantly the staff were outstanding, from the receptionists to the gardener, everyone greeted us with a smile and a hello. They went above and beyond, nothing was too much trouble for them.
Excellent hotel - we stayed here 5 days and had a great stay in April. Facilities excellent - pool was really nice after a day at the beach. Breakfast buffet was super as was the hotel restaurant where we had 2 very good dinners. staff very friendly and helpful. Nice quiet spacious room. Hotel in very good location but car advised. Perfect for trips to Praia El Barril, Praia verde and the town etc.. highly recommended for family stay.
The positives The pool benefits from a large swimming pool and modern restaurant - both modern and clean facilities Whilst the location of the hotel is not great (about half an hour walk from Tavira), the place of Tavira is a lovely town with great places to eat, so we recommend visiting Tavira, although not this hotel Awful breakfast experience In the morning, about 5am, we were woken by loud noises coming from the breakfast room at the top of the hotel I ordered the fruit option, which was a few pieces of tinned sweet melon under cling film The small coffee machine tasted like acid. Other guests also commented they couldn’t drink it, but the staff claimed the machine was working properly We paid 4* prices and at no other hotels (including 2 and 3* ones we stayed at) during the period in Portugal was the breakfast so poor. Poor dinner options and service Online, a buffet restaurant was advertised but this was not open when we arrived, the hotel didn’t notify us or update the information. Because the hotel is not located in Tavira town, we were therefore limited to eating on site The Bistro refused to serve us a main meal, and instead we had to have tapas. The waiters were inexperienced and did not understand our order, so twice we were bought the wrong dishes. At the end, we were even given the wrong bill - at a lower cost which we sent back and paid in full, out of respect for the hotel, which was not reciprocated for us later on! It was disappointing that dinner options were so limited. We wouldn’t have chose a hotel outside the centre of Tavira had we known this Facilities closed due to Covid and we were not notified in advance When we arrived nobody was at reception, we had to wait to check in The main buffet restaurant was closed The Turkish bath and fitness room was not working The breakfast room was closed and was served in a make shift room on the top of the hotel Poor location The hotel is about 30 minutes walk from Tavira with little to see or do near it. The walk to Tavira is not easy as it is along roads rather than pavements. We knew this when booking the hotel and expected the on site experience and restaurants to compensate for this. Unfortunately it didn’t. The cost of the hotel was more than more centrally located hotels with better dining and service options. Dishonest management After our first night, we had to leave the hotel and did not stay on two extra nights as we had booked for. When we spoke honestly to management to try and rectify the situation, they assured us in person as we left that our booking (via a travel aggregator) would be refunded. However, the travel agent has since told us that management have refused to pay the refund. Considering our patience with the situation and willingness to pay in full for the stay and meals we had on the first night and were not up to expectations, this felt very unfair and dishonest. In summary We understand that the hotel was likely facing difficulties during the Covid period, but we stayed in a number of other hotels across our 2 weeks in Portugal and none others were as poor as the Ozadi in terms of facilities open, food offering, and customer service. We recommend that management keep guests up to date with facilities that are available, especially being in an out of town location, and ensure service levels are maintained (e.g. polite, trained staff who speak foreign-languages). In addition, management were dishonest in dealing with our booking and refund, so I am sharing the review to warn other travelers!…
I wont lie, I haven't travelled the world much at all so I don't have much to compare this holiday with. But I have to say that our stay at the Ozadi was simply magical. We were treated so well, the hotel was beautifully clean, well organised, the staff were wonderful and so helpful. The food was just amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was a well organised buffet, I looked forward to it every morning, and the view from the balcony at the breakfast restaurant was stunning. The room was perfect in every way, we were on the sheltered side of the hotel without the sun, but that proved to be a plus in the heat we had even in October! And the view from the balcony was just breathtaking. The pool was lovely, a bit chilly but a welcome break from the heat. I can not fault the Ozadi at all. The whole experience there was wonderful. We will return.…
We understand it’s out of season but poor. I.e. gym above a bedroom so only allowed to use in certain times, breakfast and gym only in time slots, never been to a boot camp but I’m sure there is resemblance. The guy behind the front desk was rude, when asked about certain services, his answer was we are not going to open these services for you specifically, you are not VIP. Been coming to Tavira for many years , first time poor experience in a hotel supposed to have a good reputation.👎
The Ozadi Hotel was an excellent choice we made. It is less touristic than other places since it is not close to the beach (we recommend to rent a car, it is neither close to Tavira). Hence we experienced a really good time over there. The rooms are nicely designed and well maintained. The cleaning is excellent, nothing to complain about and the cleaning ladies are really fast and early birds, we appreciated that. The bed is cozy and comfortable, the bathroom spacious and enough space for your accessories. The balcony has two chairs and a table for nice Apero or late drink outside. The hotel is well designed, cozy and stylish. Everywhere well working WiFi! The restaurant for dinner is located in the new part of the hotel close to the pool while the restaurant for the breakfast is on the upmost floor with a perfect view over the area. The pool is clean and excellent maintained. Sufficient sun-beds and umbrellas are available. There is an additional terrace with some lounge chairs. In general they did a great job refurbishing this hotel. The staff is friendly and attentive, maybe some of the guys could be more attentive during breakfast, which is self-service. However, breakfast was the only downside since it was each day the same, really the same. No change in eggs, meat, sausage, fruits, bread or anything else. No show-cooking. Since we travel a lot we know, there is space for some improvement especially for good coffee and show-cooking. However, in general it is a really good hotel, to be recommended.…
