With such good reviews the potential for disappointment is there, but no, it was every bit as good as they said it would be. If there was a fault it was the weak wifi - it could not consistently deal with the thickness of the old walls. Top class breakfast in which the crowning glory was the totally unexpected hot...

beautiful setting in a shady, relaxing garden which sets you up immediately for your holiday. Lovely big apartment and a fantastic breakfast on the outdoor veranda - very relaxing and unhurried. Quinta do Caracol is only a short 10 minute walk into the centre down a slight hill but the walk back is very easy even in the heat of...

Fabulous place, apartment bit like an old Irish house, spotlessly clean, beds very comfortable, beautiful fresh orange juice at breakfast (oranges), staff very knowledgeable & helpful (Claudia), my 10 yr old loved the pool & frog ponds, lots of sunbeds, setting is tranquil with beautiful gardens, olive trees, flowers, the owners clearly put a lot of time & effort into...

We only needed to stay one night at short notice due to an overbooking in our house and were so impressed with everything to do with this lovely place. The lovely owner guaranteed a double bed and late check out (something the Pousada could not do!) and said we were free to use the gardens and pool/facilities before we needed...

I must admit I too was a little disconcerted at having to put used toilet paper in a bin, but as rooms are cleaned daily, and there are perfectly good 'outdoor' toilets available this quickly became unimportant. I wish I had come here when my children were younger, so much space with lots of individual, shady areas to sit. Breakfast...

From the minute you drive through the arched gate you know you have entered a hidden oasis. The quirky architecture, the fantastic flowers and trees all lead to a marvelous little gem of a hotel with its own private parking. From the small swimming pool, to the lily pad ponds, water abounds in this wonderland. Large olive trees greet you...

An excellent place to stay if you want to experience staying in a quaint setting with typical small Portuguese houses. The houses are all spotlessly clean with all the facilities to make your stay a home from home experience. The houses are traditional with lots of old relics which enhance the ambience. Margarit, the owner and all her staff are...

Terrific in every way, clean and comfortable., located outside the town, was very good value in an oasis of tranquility. Only went for a weekend but it was great to be amongst different people nearby. Some may think me old fashioned but sometimes one finds a good place for many reasons. It is in a mixed housing area away from...

Located just outside of the town (only a 7 minute walk to the center), this hidden gem is a wonderful place to stay. The property is run by the owners, and is both peaceful and charming. The daily breakfast in their garden area is perfect and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely recommend this property for a couple...

We arrived and were shown to our room. Very rustic but seemed very clean. I used the toilet and was horrified to see a note saying nothing could be flushed. There was a bin next to the toilet to put toilet paper in. For what we were paying I really didn't find this acceptable. We decided to go out to...
