We stayed one night at the Bastione Malvasia Hotel in the end of February 2020 ... and we were immediately taken by the location, the blue sky, the breathtaing sea view and all the history this place is surrounded with. The room met perfectly our needs (two adaults and one teenager) and the breakfast with the freshly made orange juice was delicious and more than enough ;-) Please be informed that you have to park your car outside of the town walls and you have to carry your luggage to the hotel because there are no drivable streets and/or walkways with a flat underground within the old town of Monemvasia (depending on your phisical condition it takes between 5 and 10 minutes from the town wall to the hotel) ... all walkways within the old town consist more or less of historic stones.

The room had a great, open view to the sea. The people were very polite and helpful. The room and the hotel were clean. The breakfast was full and delicious. I totally recommend the hotel. The Café Malvasia (café of the hotel) has a wide menu and the view is also majestic!

Our two night stay was perfect . We stayed in room #2, with amazing views out our four windows. The room was spacious, spotless and comfortable with a few bottles of water for us in the refrigerator. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, filled with delicious items that would please any traveler. One of our favorite things is the patio, providing an amazing view of the sea. It was such a pleasure to relax there at the cafe tables after our arrival , enjoying a cool drink and soaking up the late afternoon sun. We had a wonderful stay, the entire staff friendly and helpful at all times. Because the hotel is at the far end of the castle, it is pleasantly quiet in the evening. The signs directing us to the hotel were clearly marked, so once you get to the Square, keep walking!

I was given a very nice room with a great view (double superior balcony). Since one can’t drive to the hotel, they had someone meet me to take my luggage up. (Tips should be given). A reverse trip was made when I checked out. It’s right in the heart of the area. Service was very good. The only thing that could be improved on is more selections for breakfast

A very unique experience staying in this walled town on an outcrop in the sea. You have to leave your car at the town gate and carry your bags down tiny cobbled streets to the hotel. The hotel is tiny with many stairs but very different. We had a small perfect room with a tiny bathroom but the views of the town walls and the sea from our tiny balcony were wonderful. A great experience but it does have accessibility drawbacks.
