LIKINIA Hotel is a newly built hotel located inside the historic Castle of Monemvasia in the Southern Peloponnese. The stone built hotel, which has been constructed with absolute respect to the historic surroundings and architecture of the Castle, is offering a very pleasant and relaxing accommodation to its guests, thanks to its comfortable furniture and modern equipment. All the architectural elements were preserved during construction, such as arcs and cisterns, while there has been a wonderful combination of marble floors in each room and marble walls in their bathrooms. Its beautiful construction, its bright rooms thanks to their numerous windows, and its tasteful furniture are making LIKINIA Hotel a jewel for the Castle of Monemvasia. LIKINIA Hotel is located in Chrysafitissa Square, which is adjacent to the southern part of the Castle's fortification, just above the sea. Thanks to the hotel's proximity to the sea, most of its 4 suites and 12 rooms have a beautiful sea view and its guests may enjoy the coolness of the sea breeze through its numerous windows.

A beautiful oasis tucked away in the quieter part of Monemvasia. Immaculately clean rooms are dotted around the reception in conversions of these ancient buildings. Parking is on the road leading up to the main town gate, and is about 1km walk along narrow cobbled streets to get to the hotel, so pack light !!! Breakfast is good and varied, and Monemvasia despite its picture postcard appeal was not overrun by tourists in mid October. A wonderful 2 night stay. To be recommended!!

I will never be able to say enough about this fabulous hotel. Dear Alex met me at the entrance of the castle while my husband parked the car. Alex grabbed all 4 of our bags, refused to let me carry even a backpack. Walked all the through the cobblestone path all the way up and down stairs to hotel like a pack mule who was as strong as an Ox.
He was charming, helpful, hardworking and went above and beyond every day.
We absolutely loved our room and then met Voula who offered us an upgrade if we wanted. We wanted. The room was spectacular, with a stunning view, a balcony with a wrought iron Greek key.
I stared at both the balcony and endless sea from my bed for days contemplating Greece’s history, my family’s history and how I could move back to this amazing place.

A little Angel Maria snuck into room every morning at breakfast to change towels, fix the bedding which has beautiful Snow White crisp sheets and a very comfortable bed. The whole staff made sure we had everything we needed, (this kind of service is no longer my experience in the states.)

The morning breakfast was always fresh, filling, lovely with yogurt to die for, egg omelette or eggs and tomato, anything you could want.

Voula helped me understand the work ethic I inherited from my family, she never stops, she runs an exceptional hotel and I cried when I left because it felt like I was saying goodbye to my Yia Yia.

This hotel is worth spending days and days at, don’t hesitate for a moment. I miss them all. 🙏🏼🙌🏼🥰🏺🫶🏼🇬🇷

Beautiful Hotel in the heart of the old town/Castro Monemvasia.
Owners were very friendly and provided wonderful service.
We were upgraded to a family room and a triple for the same price as two triple rooms. The rooms were beautiful with very tasteful furniture and windows looking onto a picturesque courtyard.
Breakfast was excellent with great service and again in a very atmospheric part of the courtyard with flowers and light streaming into the covered area where breakfast was served.

Staying in Likinia’s meticulously restored castle suite was nothing less than MAGICAL.
Besides the interior beauty of the room, there were great views of the sea and the other structures that make the castle. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The breakfast on a flowering private terrace with views of the sea and castle, was delicious and included many homemade item featuring the local fruits and veggies.

Likinia is a longer walk into the castle than some other choices….we simply emptied out one suitcase and took enough for our short stay, so the longer walk was not a problem for us. Wearing good shoes for cobblestone walk also helped a lot.

The view from the hotel room was one of the best during my 2week trip in Greece. The owner was kind to fill my bottle with water. The breakfast was home made dishes with fresh orange juice. As the room on the first floor with a open plaza towards the ocean, it was a little bit lack of privacy.

The place is just magical! The hotel Likinia is placed inside the castle, in a very nice setting, with very tidy and clean rooms. The owners and the staff are super friendly and hospitable. The room that we stayed, had high quality mattress, a fireplace, and little windows that we could admire the view of the sea. Also the breakfast is delicious, with fresh orange juice, omelets, sausages and many more options to chose. We strongly recommend Likinia and we will definitely visit it again in the future!

A wonderful gem in the fort of Monemvasia !!!
Clean rooms with very friendly staff Maria and Alex !!!

It's a little walk through the fort .
My advise is if you stay in the fort bring a carry on luggage or a small duffle bag ...

Breakfast was fantastic with many choices all prepared on premises !

This hotel is amazing! Great views, with a 4 minute walk to swim/snorkel. They include a great home cooked breakfast, and the owners/staff (Alex) are very friendly and they hustle to help you in any way possible. Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. We booked one room but upon arrival were offered a better room with a patio.

It is an amazing accommodation in the castle of Monemvasia. Access was easy from the portfolio for dives to the afternoon evening walk. The room very comfortable clean and cared for in the traditional style of the castle. Breakfast simple traditional and very delicious. The service is perfect and fast. I highly recommend it either for families, couples or individuals who travel alone.

We stayed for two nights at the start of June. We were warmly welcomed and our room was one of the nicest I have ever stayed in. We were in room number 1 with a small balcony and an uninterrupted view over the water. It had all of the amenities you might expect and there was a lot of space. Breakfast was all home made and traditional, the coffee and orange juice kept coming and the seating area where you eat breakfast was just beautiful. It's a lovely hotel in a unique location with warm and generous hosts and we absolutely loved staying there.

Hello, how long from the entrance to the town to walk to the hotel?
Answer from Richard B
Camberley, United Kingdom25 contributions51 helpful votes
It’s about a 10 minute walk through the cobbled streets from the main entrance. Car parking along the road to the entrance is possible - although that does get busy. There is a bigger car park as you cross the bridge onto the island and you can park here for free and it’s a 10 - 15 minute walk to the entrance to the town gates.

Hello, if we were to book a room here, where would we park the hire car?
Answer from Gaby A
Milan, Italy49 contributions49 helpful votes
You will park outside the castle along the road. There is no parking nearby, you have to find a spot by the edge of the road. If you have luggage, you better drop them by the gate of the castle and go back to find a place. Sometimes it is not easy to find a place.
