We booked here due to how beautiful the pictures looked and due to having a pool. Well, how misled we were, it was more than disappointing! The pictures on the websites do not reflect the real place which is run down, lack of facilities as not even a kettle for a hot drink. This place certainly needs a refurbishment and to think I paid €107.60 for one night. I was only grateful it was one night and could not check out quick enough! I certainly would not recommend! However, visiting Monemvasia was worth the pain!

The hotel is located in a nice position. It has a nice salty pool and apartments with splendid view. However they need to work on their rennovation, which I know it should start around Oct 2018. After that rennovation I am sure it will be very good as it has lots of potential.
Workers are extremely friendly!

We informed the administration that we will arrive late due to several obligations we had to fulfill at work! They said it is ok and we are welcome anyway! We thought everything was arranged but they had other plans unfortunately, since they decided to give the room we have booked to someone else and put us in an obviously smaller and generally not a good one room! Since it was late, next morning we went to the reception to complain, hoping to get a good answer and the room we booked back. The officer listened to our claims (he was kind and polite), admitted though that the room was not the one we have booked and after 30' he came back with a great proposal from administration, he said "...the only option you got is to wait another day and then move to the room you have booked..." They didn't propose any money back or even a discount!!! As you can imagine we packed and left ...!!! Thank you for the amazing memories...!!! P.s. The room we had to spent the night was improperly cleaned, the plugs were old, bathroom full of mouth, tv screen 17" ...

We just come back from Monemvasia. I chose Doka Apartments because I wanted to have space, children can play and have private parking.

Douka Apartments is an apartment complex located a 7-minute drive from the village center of Monemvasia. Not suitable for those who have no car. The complex has a swimming pool, sports grounds and sufficient parking for tourists.

Our apartment consisted of two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and bathroom and a large terrace whit sea view. The living room was equipped with a fireplace.

The complex is managed by an american - Peter - who is a very pleasant and helped us very much in our stay in Monemvasia.

We have stayed at Villa Douka twice. This first time we drove up to check for vacancies in 2008, I was certain the rates would be high. Instead, for 35 euros, we got our own spotlessly clean little apartment. They have a lovely pool, basketball courts, etc. for recreation - all very well maintained and clean. The staff are courteous and helpful. It is a 5 minute drive to Monemvasia for restaurants and site-seeing. Monemvasia is beautiful in the evening. Restaurants have tables all along the water and we saw 2 enormous sea turtles that apparently visit daily. We stayed again in 2010 and the premises are still spotlessly clean. We hadn't made a reservation and the little apartments had been booked for a wedding so we stayed in a family suite. It had a kitchen and bathroom separated from a bedroom that would easily sleep a family of 4. The cost was 60 euros. All in all, the location is perfect, there is a small beach within walking distance, the scenery is beautiful and the accommodations basic but VERY clean and comfortable.

A friend and I booked this as we planned our last min Greece trip. As students, we were looking for a cheap accommodation and stumbled upon this and we were quite reluctant to book as there are so many mixed reviews online....So now, after staying there, I can finally put a review in my own words and try help those who wish to book and who are sitting at the computer at 1am trying to find out if the accommodation is worth it at the given price... Let's just remember... If you going to pay cheap, you not going to get luxury comfort! So if you paying a lot less, don't complain that the bed is too hard...

Douka is located 10 mins away from actual Monemvasia. So it's pretty easy to get to with a car. Literally one road! The man who checked us in was super super super helpful and kind. You can park your car RIGHT OUTSIDE your room! The swimming pool is HUGE and beautiful with the bougainvillea surrounding it, and the pool also has a diving board! The pool gets to 3m deep. The pool also over looks the ocean which is just seperated by a road! We swam here (around rocks) instead of trying the actual beach which is a 10 Min walk away from the hotel.

The room is average (obviously). We had a double bed AND a single bed. It was indeed very clean! There were extra pillows and thicker blankets in the closet if needed! The bathroom was newly renovated and actually really really great. The shower pressure was awesome and the general modern-ness of the bathroom was fantastic..

Avoid the ''hotel'' especially during winter period. Terribly COLD!!! No heating. Floor is ice cold. The pool looked very dirty. Everything needs renovation. Hot water stopped. Small TV. Bad and old looking dishes. Beds are hard. We regretted we paid even this small sum of money. This is the case when cheap means BAD.

Though the rooms are larger than average sq. meters from others, still there is to far away from a good descent clean room.
- rooms were not clean at check in
- cleaning service was once per 3 days, and only thing was taking out garbage and only fix up the beds
- towels... Not even use them. For our good luck we had ours with us
- the bed was cracking on any move...
- in our 4 nights stay, bed sheets were never changed
