I stayed at Ruth hotel for 2 nights together with my family. We stayed in gallerihuset in room 24&14. The room was great, good beds and enough space. The wifi was good and the only thing that did not work in the room was the door lock, bad system! The restaurant (brasserie) was overpriced and very noisy! The service was...

Dear Elisabeth R Thank you for taking your time to write about your experience from your stay. Obviously it is not pleasant reading for us but we must admit that you are right and let me start with apologizing for not having met your expectations for staying at Ruths Hotel. It is not meant as an excuse merely an attempt...

Spent 2 nights here for Easter holidays. We had one of the appartments close to the main building. Standard ok, but a bit of a 'camping' feeling, clearly not according many reviews on TA and price level. Biggest issue though is the lack of service, esp. in the restaurant. Probably diffucult to get qualified people for high season, but breakfast...

Stayed for 2 days. Everything I wanted in a hotel in such a remote place. Well-above-average friendly staff, even for Denmark! The hotel's Brasserie is NOT to be missed. Recommend booking as it can get very bus on Friday/Saturday evenings. Parking was on premise and free. Stayed in a room in the Strandhuset which was absolutely adorable and had everything...

Ruth's hotel is located in Gl Skagen (old Skagen), right among the sand dunes and is in a great location to enjoy this beautifully Danish village. It's a few kms from the main town but has cycles you can hire to cycle around the area. The restaurant is lovely and the breakfast expansive. The staff were generally excellent. Had laundry...

Lovely location and a wonderful hotel and restaurant. The staff is extremely helpful. My room was made up with hypoallergenic bedding, per my request when I made the reservation. They also mailed back my husband's lost prescription sunglasses (to the U.S.) at no extra charge to us. We extended our stay by one night and they gave us a discounted...

An amazing place. The location is breathtaking with sandy, beautiful beach right 2 min walk from the hotel. Sandy dunes, stunning views. The hotel has a very scandinavic feel to it but naturally of course, without being too overstyled. Very simple cosy interior of the lounge, good braserie but the menu needs to be improved with vegan tasty options, not...

Stayed for four nights with family in one of the artists cottages. The rooms work well for families with stylish design in clean white, nice big tvs and big jacuzzi bath and indeed a small kitchenette. Posh toileteries and two kites for the kids. Nice touch In the main hotel the kids were allowed to use the pool from 4...

We keep coming back. This Hotel is high standard, all the small details from a nice duvet, choice of pillows, fresh local products for breakfast etc. And the service is always with a smile, and no problems. Great ambience. We prefer the rooms in the main building, going outside is nice but not all the time. And during summer don't...

Spend 2 nights at Ruths hotel. Lovely room, great bedding and atmosphere. Staff down to earth and polite. The hotels has all the right things for a 5-star hotel. Unfortunately the breakfast restaurant and the Brasserie restaurant is understaffed - they simply cannot live up to the standard the are trying to set due to lack of staff to keep...

I don't know how many times I've stayed here, but I have always loved it. The rooms are lovely in the spare but tasteful Scandinavian way. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. (This time I shipped in an Apple computer monitor in order to work on my book and a printer. I moved twice. Each time the staff moved...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Ruths Hotel is a historic seaside hotel located in the heart of a idyllic village called Gl. Skagen that is surrounded by dunes with lyme grass and rose hip bushes and also the beach with the legendary sunset plaza on the Top of Denmark. The hotel itself consists today of four buildings with rooms and apartments designed with Danish furnitures and typical Scandinavian beach side hotel style, an underground parking garage, conference facilities and romantic banquet facilities - all within 200 meters. In the main building of Ruths Hotel is besides the reception also a wellness and spa area with a heated therapy pool, exercise machines, sauna, steam room, massage shower, and the option to book massages, beauty and fitness treatments. The culinary experince in a cozy setting can be enjoyed either in Ruths Brasserie or Ruths Gourmet with our gastronomic head chef Dennis Juhl. Between the two restaurants is our lounge, where a cup of coffee with some exclusive pampering of the sweet tooth can be enjoyed by the crackling fire from the fireplace. Despite the fact that we are a five-star hotel and many describes Ruths Hotel as a luxury hotel, we actually don't strive to give a luxury experience. We want to give our guests a five-star experience of exclusive life enjoyment, and it is with this exclusive pampering that you will experience how the heart rate drops by 10 beats, the body is forced to relax and you will achieve a sensation of presence and time for each other. We can not help it - It's in our nature ... more   less
