The staff in the hotel and restaurant are lovely and friendly however I do think the house keeping could be better bed linen and vacuuming are not done regularly not even weekly and the outside seating area isn't accessible unless the restaurant is open which is a shame when the weather is lovely like today restaurant shut a 6pm so no sitting in the sun
I took my wife on holiday to Jelgava. I was pleased with my stay and recommend to try out this place at least once in your life. The staff were really nice and Linda at the reception helped us out with the neighbourhood. Breakfast was tasty and fresh. Rooms well decorated. City is quite and with a breath-taking view. Loved smoking on the balcony at the end of the hallway, great view of the closed garden. Unfortunately spa or massages are unviable of covid. However, sauna was available and nice.
Very bad organized and not customer oriented You have to order one day before what you eat at breakfast and chose on a list what you want ant when. But they are not prepared. They don’t bring the order. Just for bread we had to wait 40 minutes ( we have been the only guests for breakfast at this time) - on day is ok. Two days in a row is a no go. Who gave this hotel the stars ? Rooms : liquid soap and towel were empty.
We stayed there just for one night. We were surprised by the quality we of services provided as we didn’t expect this for the price we paid. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also great.
The hotel is in the middle of the town. Nice Standard. The people in reception are VERY friendly. The breakfast is really really bad (written by a European who is used to fresh bread and nice cheeses in the moning). The room is ok and the bathroom too.
As above ordered chicken nuggets and fries for our daughter and there was a 2cm squared label in the food! Very disappointing! That now Lativa has joined the EU it still doesn’t have the customer standards of other EU countries, I expected the meal to be replaced and a refund for the meal due to a failure on their side.
The staff is most unfriendly and they don't care about your complains or wishes. It's no use to ask for manager, too. I would recommend you to drive on, maybe even to the Estonia or Latvia depending where you are going.
We were very pleased to have very nice service. Good location, friendly staff, clean and nicely decorated rooms. Thank you very much. Breakfast was nice and delicious, staff was very helpful. It seems to us that the hotel should be rated higher.
Jelgava... well, unless on business, the likeliness of ending up here is thin. The town is not really as historical as for example Riga. Straight an wide streets, pretty parks and churches, and the river. Hotel Jelgava is right where the main street crosses the river, and if you happen to be on the noisier side, the views are nice, even in a damp and grey November. The hotel looks like somewhere in the esrly 19th century, but renovated quite recently, and really impossible to guess the age of it. The entrance lobby with the reception looks very welcoming, and the check-in goes swiftly - and yes, they speak very good English. My room was a single on the third floor, small but big enough. Cozy, perfect bed a small desk where I just about got space for the laptop. No minibar, but a small fridge, small and functional bath room. So, all in all, no frills but a very good two night den for overnight. The breakfast is a continental with some Latvian twist, very nice. So, would I recommend? Well, if you for some reason end up in Jelgava, yes definitely, but having the choice, I might prefer Riga? …
Well appointed hotel, nicely decorated rooms, huge bath with water jets. The breakfast was an excellent spread of hot & cold food. Would recommend if in the area. Free car parking to the rear of the hotel.
