Turowka Hotel & SPA **** is a place with a unique feel, different from large, chain hotels. Our intention is to provide guests with a cosy, quiet atmosphere and excellent cuisine - all accompanied by the finest service.
Classicistic, stylish interiors, architecture dating back to the turn of the 19th century, together with the high standard of service will make you feel special here. The convenient location, near the exceptional "Wieliczka" Salt Mine, makes our hotel an outstanding base for trips to the centre of Cracow, which is just a 15-minute drive away.
We had 2 rooms booked for 2 nights, 1 x king bed and 1 x twin bed. Twin room was with balcony ( so if you are a smoker - consider balcony room ). Clean, big rooms , bed very comfy. Location - ideal! Maybe 5 min walk to salt mine and by taxi 10 min to Old Town in Krakow. Tip : do not order taxi from hotel, Uber was working out around 50% less than taxi offered by hotel. Restaurant : breakfast was spot on 👍 , 1st day we had also dinner, amazing and delicious food , very reasonable prices
Stayed here for a work trip and the hotel is just lovely, nice food, great staff and an ideal location right beside the train into Krakow town centre. It;s also walking distance to the salt mines too.
The hotel has a great location, not far away from Krakow and close to the salt mines. Rooms are big, clean, with comfy mattress and coffee/tea facilities. Breakfast with a wide range of cold and warm items, sweet bakery products and fresh ground coffee machine. The spa center nothing special. Quite freaky entrance. The counter current did not work, so not possible to swim. There are various massage jets. Whirlpool too small as well as sauna, really tiny for the size of the hotel. WIFI worked well. Receptionist professional and cordial
We stayed here two nights at the end of our trip to Krakow and Slovakia. The hotel staff are friendly and very helpful. The room we were given was very big, with good amenities and comfortable bed. We used the spa facilities and had several treatments and it was all very good and well priced. The food is excellent; we would particularly recommend the borscht!
We were on a roadtrip and chose this hotel for the large free car park and easy (and very cheap!) train journey into Krakow. Be aware trains are hourly so plan your trip in and out, but it takes only 20 mins and you needn’t then worry about car congested roads into the city. Trains are modern and safe and take you right into central Krakow. Wielicska Station is just 10 mins walk from hotel. Hotel is a little dated in style, but rooms are clean and very well equipped. Staff are efficient and friendly. Spa is excellent. Very good treatments and swimming pool. The hotel caters for weddings so it can be noisy if your stay clashes with an event.
It's an outdated, rather tired small hotel. It looks lush on the pictures but in reality is a bit disappointing. We stayed in a family room which is big but the layout is awkward. Pros. It's so small that your kids can roam on their own. It's clean. Cons. -Train to and from Krakow or airport is a myth so one needs to figure out the buses or use a taxi. -Breakfast- there is breakfast and it's a buffet but if you happen to show up at 10 o'clock it's slim picking. Refill or keep things fresh is not a concept they are familiar with. (Not even water/juice or hot water). Be aware 10:29 they turn off the coffee machine. There is no negotiations or you would need to hear a big long sad story why they have to turn off the coffee machine. -It's a wedding venue. So the other family we travelled with got an email (not us) that they will have a loud party on Saturday. On this location ordinary tourists and weddings should not be mixed. Due to the size of the property ordinary guests do not get to rest. So 03:45 and full on party. The hotel should block the wedding dates for only the wedding party and no ordinary guests or enforce the music to shut down at 01:00 no ifs or buts. (Just like the coffee machine) - Rooms are not sound proof. Wedding parties bring a particular type of baggage and the entire family is up and listening to that at 04:00. (Me typing this review instead of resting) -I'm wondering if I'm going to get my last night stay refunded since it's 04:00 there is no sign of the party stopping. Other amenities: -Pool is small.(looks big on the picture but that's just a great picture) -Treatments are OK nothing special. It's past 04:00 for the love of God please shut down the music. Take care of the drunken guests. If you are staying here and you get an email about a loud party run as fast and far away as you can. This is an average hotel find another average hotel.…
This hotel is a perfect place to stay with great food and nice beer. The staff speak good English, very friendly, are very hard working and professional. We are contemplating returning in the near future 👍🏻
Stayed here with family and the hotel is very beautiful with very good facilities, good size swimming pool, bar staff very friendly, amazing breakfast with a lot of choices,we had dinner on the bar which was a good quality too, very large family rooms , a very good experience, Thank you
I really wanted to give this hotel a five score. The property is a beautifully restored early nineteenth century structure. The rooms are tastefully decorated, the restaurant has great food, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, since the remodel and opening in 2012, it appears that the owners don’t understand that things need to be regularly inspected and maintained. Upon checking in to our room, we soon noticed a very small water leak on the floor of our bathroom. It was small, but constant, and created a slip hazard. We informed the manager, who graciously offered us a two room suite on the third floor. On inspection of that room, we discovered (to the manager’s apparent surprise) that only one of the two air conditioners worked, and the working unit was unable to handle the heat load. We finally settled for the leaky room with the manager’s promise that the problem would be fixed after the weekend. Not only was the problem never repaired, but we went on to note simple to fix problems such as a loose ceiling tile and shower head that slowly slid down the rail until it reached a certain point at which it crashed down on one’s head. Both of those repairs could have been ameliorated in less than three minutes, but the room didn’t seem to have ever been inspected for problems. I really enjoyed our four days at Hotel Turowka, but would have enjoyed them even more if the physical plant were better maintained.…
This was the first hotel I stayed in Poland. A small but welcoming place definitely recommended. Amazing staff overnight provided heated milk for my daughter at 3 am without hesitation. The rooms are dated but fine details abound. The food is pretty good here as well and the breakfast buffet is a wide array of food for any guest to enjoy. The old world high chairs were enjoyed by my daughters and the stained glass windows delighted with the details. Natalie was very accommodating to all our needs and provided great service. You must try the lemonade it is the best. For families the playroom on the second floor provides an additional getaway
