    Od teraz czuje sie Sandomierzaninem
When we arrived the welcome was excellent and the waiters very helpful and speak good English. Truly exceptional hospitality for all the 3 nights we stayed. For those who wishing to enjoy good Polish food in Sandomierz; then Sarmata Hotel is ideal. The food is great and the portions are plentiful and for breakfast you have the choice of BIGOS dishes (sausage, eggs, salami and cheese). All the other waiters were really nice and friendly and hospitable. We enjoyed the elegance of the second waiter (of which I do not know the name) because she offered me a second large portion of BIGOS. The staff always has a smile on their lips. Cleaning in the rooms: excellent!!! Under our request they prepared us sandwiches for the trip back to home. Yesterday I was Swiss, today I’m Polish: "now I am an honorary citizen of Sandomierz". Sandomierz we miss you so much! Would you come back to Sarmata Hotel? Yes, with great pleasure!!! Dziękuję bardzo from Riccardo and Agnieszka from Switzerland. ...i to by bylo na tyle.

For the tourist, the location cannot be better. It is right across the famous Medieval gate to the Old City. The breakfast was very nice, rooms are clean, the staff is professional. The restaurant has a good menu. The only reservation that I have is that the room the we had was rather small.

Pulled into car park and on a off chance asked availability was told 300 zloty was a double room. I agreed price and said I would grab my husband and let him know when we returned we was told 320 for a twin and 360 for double. I was shocked as that wasn't the price agreed. Walked out didn't stay. Glad we didn't as booking. Com has it for 290.

We stayed here for 1 night in May 2018. We were in room 501 which as a huge 2 room suite, that looked like a museum. This old furniture looked impressive at first glance, but a closer look showed it was worn and torn. The living room had an air conditioner that was off, and we had to go back to the front desk to get the remote for it. It did not cool the room, just moved the air. The walls are thin as I could hear other guest in the hallway of our building. There were no Kleenex tissues or conditioner supplied. My biggest complaint about this hotel was the service. We ate dinner in the restaurant, and despite being the only people in the restaurant, the 4 wait staff spent most of their time preparing for a big party that night (that was to start in 2 hours) for a convention, and not checking on us. There was a large Radio journalist convention in the hotel that took up most of the rooms. Our only night in the hotel, they had a party in the restaurant. Sometime after 10pm the DJ turned up the music so that I could hear it and feel it in room 501, Our windows were closed even though the room was warm. Room 501 is the closest room to the restaurant. Finally after midnight, with the music still blasting, I called the front desk ,and told them to turn it down, which they eventually did. This was the worst nights sleep in my 2 1/2 week stay in Poland, and why I can only give this property 2 stars. Lack of consideration for all of their guests is inexcusable. The next morning at breakfast, the conventioneers were all in the restaurant making it very crowded and difficult to get to the buffet. This would probably have been a nice property without this convention taking over the hotel, but I cannot recommend it because, in my experience, they don't care about their customers.

I stayed at this hotel during a business trip, actually my supplier booked it for me. The rooms are old fashioned dark/brown colored and don´t fit my taste. There are no effective window blends so it os difficult to get the room completely dark during summer time. There is also a lot of noise fromthe street. I do also recognize that the hotel manager mostly decline remarks i other reviews so there is little chance that the situation will improve.

Response from Krzysztof T, Kierownik at Hotel Sarmata
Responded Jun 28, 2018
You had room 402 booked in a building called an outhouse. There are 4 economy class rooms. The building of the outbuilding and the adjacent manor house are entered in the register of monuments - they come from 1861 with all its consequences (small windows, stylish "old-fashioned" doors and furniture in dark oak, marble floors in the corridors and oak parquet in the rooms). Otherwise (more modern) rooms look in the main hotel building, because this is not entered in the register of monuments. Sincerely the owner of the hotel Tusznio Mirosław

During our two week to Poland, this might have been our best lodging. Room was roomy and comfortable, mattress was similar to US hotels, breakfast buffet was more than adequate and location was a short walk to Old Town. Only negative is the the shower floor could be dangerous. I slipped and almost fell and one of our tour mates did fall and got hurt.
