Beautiful hotel nestled (as its name rightly says) among the rocks of Gallura. View from the breathtaking rooms on part of the Emerald Coast; only waking up in the morning with this view is worth the price of your stay. The kitchen deserves a special mention: breakfast buffet super rich with fresh pastries made by them; cook in the room who prepares scrambled eggs, omelets, etc. at the moment on customer request; dishes for dinner all excellent and served excellently. We stayed at the hotel a week and always ate different dishes ranging from fish to meat to vegetarian cuisine. A special praise for the fish dishes that are really super! another treat is the Sardinian dinner organized on Thursday evening that takes place between the pool area and an old sheepfold that is always part of the hotel, enlivened by Sardinian music and dances. Very nice idea to live the real Sardinia otherwise a little hidden from the social life of the Costa Smeralda. The location of the hotel is great as in 10/15 minutes you can reach all the most beautiful beaches of the coast. Staff very friendly and super attentive to customer needs. As other customer reviews say the rooms are a bit dated but I assure you that the cleanliness and care are impeccable. The beauty of the place is really dreamy. Excellent pool, with bar service, very useful to make up for the days of Mistral at sea or to stay a little quieter. We look forward to returning to Sardinia. Thanks Rocce Sarde, see you soon!

Rocce Sarde is a location that stands out for authenticity, care of the place and its guests, hospitality and professionalism! We chose to organize our wedding at this place, precisely for the authenticity, sophistication and discretion with which the founding characteristics of Gallura are proposed and enhanced, at the gates of the Costa Smeralda. From a landscape point of view, the structure and the surrounding uncontaminated space, the panoramic view and the rocks that are set in the green of the Mediterranean scrub, are objectively unmatched!
A team of individual champions coordinates and animates these places with a seemingly innate dynamism and complicity. From the hotel staff to the waiting room, from the chef to the maitre, from the barman to the vice-maitre, they made that day, the days before and after, simply and honestly, perfect and unique. Chef, Sous-chef and the whole brigade were able to design and realize a lively and engaging aperitif, a well-kept, fast and dynamic fish lunch - capable of reinterpreting tradition in a contemporary key - and a meat dinner to close the day, making everyone appreciate the Sardinian tradition.
Everything described above was made possible thanks to the presence of the Director of the structure, Mr. Raffaele Del Duca: Producer, Production Designer, Director and at the same time Actor. Since the first meetings, Raffaele has been able to advise us, address us, welcome our ideas/needs/instances and interpret, develop and enhance them. Nothing seems impossible to Raffaele’s tireless resourcefulness, able to listen, be curious, support the ideation and always ready to play down and solve any kind of complication.
We are delighted with this choice and especially grateful to have received so much attention and complicity for our special day; thanking again here all the staff of Rocce Sarde, we can only recommend this location with honesty and awareness!

I stayed at this hotel in the last week of July with my family. We really enjoyed the location, nestled among the rocks and lush vegetation to which the gardeners devote much care; the structure finely furnished in Sardinian style; the spacious rooms with a large terrace from which you can enjoy a splendid view of the Gulf of Cugnana; the high level of catering, served on the beautiful panoramic terrace; the professionalism of the waiting staff, despite their young age, and the courtesy and helpfulness of the maitre d', Giacomo who, with constant care and scrupulous attention paid to guests, demonstrates a great love for his job. We hope to return soon.

We recently stayed at Hotel Rocce Sarde in Sardinia. The hotel boasts amazing mountain scenery in a rural setting. We booked the Superior Sea View Room. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially Stefano, Michele and Salvatore. The rooms are basic but spotlessly clean. We stayed half board. The food was lovely and even better as a coeliac I was catered for very well If visiting I recommend hiring a car due to the remote location of the hotel. The nearest village of San Pantaleo is a half hour walk away We booked a boat trip to the Maddalena Islands which is well worth doing We also visited Olbia along with various beaches which are amazing with white sand and crystal clear waters The downside to this hotel is it’s “tired” and needs an update. The hotel shop only stocks alcohol and sweets. No water! You can only purchase water at the bar or use the mini bar in the room. We reported a couple of issues in the room, namely the broken plug in the sink. It was still broken when we left. The pool area is adequate but due to the on-site sewage system there is a fragrant aroma in the area!! Also the poolside toilets consist of two toilets in what can only be described as a shed! The views are amazing and we had a relaxing stay but won’t be returning

Where can I start? On a late arrival (9.30 p.m.), when checking in we asked if we could have a sandwich - no. Breakfast was ok but I've had better. Was near enough the same each day with not much in the way of fresh fruit. We ate in the restaurant twice; the first time was lovely, the second was awful. Restaurant manager so rude. The room was small and the shower was not very good. The pool was fine the first day but it was emptied and never refilled whilst we were there and they could not give an explanation. Shuttle bus is as good as useless. The drivers run to their own timetable and there is no bus after 1.30 to the village. The beach is not glorious and the sunbeds are a rip off. If you want to get about, hire a car from the airport as there are no taxis. There is also no lift and the grounds are very hilly and steep. The whole time there was an awful smell of sewage. All in all, the stay felt like a prison and we were glad to leave. Receptionists and bar staff are welcoming.

Cordiali saluti, Hotel Manager Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback, and we're sorry that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. Regarding the hotel's location, it is clearly stated in our descriptions and booking channels, as we are situated in a peaceful, nature-filled area, ideal for those seeking tranquility and relaxation. As for breakfast, we take pride in preparing everything with fresh, homemade products, and we are glad that it satisfies the majority of our guests, as reflected in many other reviews. Our shuttle buses run on a set schedule, but we always try to be flexible to accommodate guest needs. Concerning the pool, we had an unexpected issue that required urgent maintenance to ensure guest safety. The pool was closed for two days, and we offered all guests an alternative by providing complimentary transfers to our other hotel in Cannigione, where they could enjoy a day at the beach at no extra cost. We always strive to provide the best experience possible, and as you can see from previous reviews, many guests appreciate our efforts and the services we offer. We hope to welcome you again in the future and provide you with an even better experience. Kind regards, Hotel Manager

This hotel is set in a quiet mountainous area quite far from most places so if you plan to explore you definitely should hire a car. As for the hotel itself,we payed for a sea view and it was worthwhile as we had the most amazing view down to the ocean,we also payed for the half board with dinner option and the food is excellent especially if you like sea food. The staff are very polite and helpful, the pool bar area is tranquil and full of trees with sun or shady spots available They charge all drinks and extra food to your room and you settle up when you check out I would say this isn't your typical "Brit abroad" hotel, don't expect loud music or pizza every night there's very little in the way of entertainment which obviously doesn't suit all also not suitable for less abled people as there are alot of steps and obviously it's on a mountain We loved this hotel, the peace and tranquility and the remoteness. Also loved access to a nature reserve for(steep) walks in the cooler evenings

We spent the weekend in Gallura on the day the hotel opened for the 2024 summer season, after having already been there a couple of years ago. As always we were enchanted by the splendid garden that surrounds this structure, set among the granites of the village of San Pantaleo. The hotel is a few minutes from the town and is equipped with all comforts, including a shuttle service to the Rena Bianca beach. The staff is kind and prepared. Non invasive. But this year the real surprise was the cuisine. We in fact took advantage of the half board which included dinner, but we certainly didn't expect to eat so well and with a quality that is difficult to find in a hotel. The choice between sea and land satisfies all palates, including vegetarians. The appetizer can be chosen from the rich buffet in the internal room, while dinner takes place on a terrace with a breathtaking view. The first courses, second courses and desserts were then served to us at the table. We tasted the cuttlefish ink tagliatelle with red prawn tartare and its bisque, the buttons stuffed with ricotta and spinach, brown stock and macadamia nuts, the vegetable gyioza with hibuscus broth and a sea bass fillet with diced vegetables. All served at the level of starred restaurants. Big compliments to the young Sicilian chef who leads a truly excellent team in the kitchen. To end the splendid dinner, some desserts that were so beautiful to look at and so good to eat. We then discovered in the morning at breakfast that the talented pastry chef also prepares the croissants and leavened products for breakfast by hand, which needless to say were spectacular. If you want to enjoy a week or even just a weekend of relaxation, breathtaking landscapes and excellent cuisine, I highly recommend it.

We stayed a week in late July. The hotel is very particular surrounded by greenery and Sardinian rocks so it is very relaxing and quiet but from the restaurant you can also see the sea, beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food very good for both breakfast and dinner. The free shuttle to Rena Bianca Portisco beach is nice. Even the small town of San Pantaleo is very characteristic with clubs, bars and music. We recommend that you rent a car just like we did. The pool is also very nice, with water more than two meters deep in one place. In our room there was both air conditioning and a very functional ceiling paddle fan. We had a great time, we recommend it and wish you a good continuation!

The Hotel Rocco Sarde is visually stunning, set amongst beautiful well tended gardens and scenic rocks. We stayed in a Junior Suite with a sea view. The view from the room was magical! have never stayed anywhere with such a glorious view.
Our room had a terrace, which was perfect. It was spacious and clean. We enjoyed having the lovely hotel cat come to visit us each morning too.
The restaurant prepared us delicious, incredibly well presented dishes, all vegetarian as I had requested by email. The breakfasts were just lovely, eggs cooked to order, a big display of bread, cakes, cereal, fruit and cheese. The pastries were particularly good.
All the staff in the restaurant were smartly dressed and couldn’t have been any more courteous or helpful. I asked to be moved to sit at a table in the panoramic terrace and the Maître d' obliged which I was very pleased about.
The evening meals consisted of a buffet then two courses and dessert. The wine was very reasonable and you could save your bottle for the next evening. The entertainment at the restaurant is was very enjoyable. We loved listening to the pianist who played a range of songs, from Disney to the Beatles. We also enjoyed watching the Sardinian dancers.
The pool was set amongst the rocks and nearly always quiet, with a lovely bar for drinks and tasty lunches. The staff working at the pool bar were very polite and helpful, particularly the friendly young gentleman.
Plenty of sunbeds, and a relaxing area to read and sunbathe. The beach was Rene Bianca and a shuttle bus was provided to take and pick you up. The beach was the cleanest I have ever been to in the Mediterranean. White sand, clear warm water, sunbeds and umbrellas-to hire. 35euros cash or card for 3 beds and one umbrella.
On the beach there is one bar, Pedros where you can buy delicious food and drinks and if you keep your receipt use their facilities. The nearest village is San Pantaleo. It’s a doable walk but remember to come back while it’s still light.
The hotel was unable to ring a local taxi to the village and the cost is 50euros as they come from Olbia, so we walked instead. The village is well worth a visit. We went for dinner one night, and to the market on Thursday and had lunch after. It’s very pretty and authentic.

This is the fifth time I have been to this Pension. It has certain flaws, it is true but I feel so good about it. What makes this Pension great is its staff.
I would also like to thank all the room staff , be it Alessandro, Carlo , Giacomo , the charming Sicilian (I forgot her name) who gives us all this warmth so that we can spend each dinner in very good conditions.
The food and this service is for me the best. There is an atmosphere worthy of starred restaurants. It is very very good while remaining simple and warm.
The Pension is all located near the Costa Smeralda. You will need a vehicle to discover its beautiful beaches and surroundings. But the pool is also there to refresh you with a bar always available.
To the Pension Authority , I would like to give them two major improvements to correct:
1/ Try to do everything possible to avoid the smelly odors that we sometimes find in the corridors of the rooms as well as around the pool.
2/ bring more shade ( solid umbrellas ) around the pool and deckchairs . I’ve seen quite a few despairing customers.
And above all, be proud of your staff, in a world where service is increasingly difficult to find.
Good continuations. Daniel Colabella

The village is walkable about had a hour, there is a pavement at the side of the road.
You wouldn’t want to do it in the dark though so best set off back in plenty of time.
The hotel says taxis would cost 50 euros plus as they have to come from Olbia.
There are more places to choose from in the Milmeggiu area.
