The ultimate in luxury safari ambiance, this hilltop-tented camp offers all the romance of sleeping under canvas whilst providing all the opulence and amenities of a world-class hotel. The camp also offers the finest in game viewing, a brilliance of birds and driving safaris that is unrivaled in East Africa.

We stayed 4 nights here and the rooms were very comfortable in a tented style with great views of the Serengeti and nice to hear the wildlife noises around us . It’s a reminder of colonial style of the 1920’s The staff are all lovely especially Grivin and Daniel who made our stay special and they are all very attentive to the guests needs . The downside is the food as there’s a set menu every evening and not much variety and no Tanzanian dishes .This seems to be the same in all the Serena lodges. Breakfast was very good and packed lunches need variety. There is possibility to get a massage by the lovely masseuse who did a great job Coffee and tea trays in the room were there

A beautiful setting overlooking the Western Cooridor, this tented lodge is glamping at its best. Each tent is on a raised platform providing privacy and a breeze to go with the view of the endless plain. Inside tents have Victorian charm with leather wardrobes, marble & brass bathrooms and 4 poster beds with mosquito nets. The pool also has a view and is set amongst the gardens that give the lodge its very special appeal. Our favorite of the 5 Serena properties we stayed in because it is smaller, more intimate and has special details. Staff are amazingly attentive and welcoming. It’s a bit further afield but absolutely worth it.

If you are looking for a luxurious camp in Western Serengeti at an affordable price, then this is the one! We had absolutely nothing to complain about during our stay, Our tented room was elevated on a wooden platform with a stone built luxurious bathroom. The views over the Serengeti are given on every angle of the camp and our highlight here was dinner where we got a visitor from a Genet cat. First we thought it was a Leopard as we only saw its tale. Although we didn't have the time to use the pool, we really liked the hidden location with the view and the look of the entire pool area.

We recently stayed here for 2 nights. It was late in the season, so many of the animals had migrated, but this gave us the ability to relax for 2 days from a very busy 3 country whirlwind tour. Initially this place seemed a bit dated compared to the other places we had stayed, but I quickly realized the nuanced charm of what would be an original tented camp. From the British styled influnce in furniture, the old photos of safari hunts, to the silver flatware and china placesettings to the fine dining service itself. The food was beyond expecation, as was the service. I will never forget the piece of Nile perch I had for lunch, in fact, it was the best fish I have ever had in my life. The morning coffee brought to the tent with heated milk was lovely. I took time for a massage and OH MY GOODNESS, it was the best massage I have had , hands down, so much so, all of the girls in my group signed up for one and agreed, Mwjuma, was outstanding. Victor our server was lovely and his smile and singing voice radiated. The only reason I gave this gem a 4 is that it could use just a few updates to compete with the newer splashier places, but if you can see beyond that, this really is a spectacular place and a day at the pool and spa will leave you feeling pampered and happy.

We were booked here for three nights in August, but ended up leaving early. The camp has 25 tents, but only one or two others were occupied when we were there, it felt like a ghost town. The wilderbeest migration had happened, and the area surrounding the camp had been/was being burned (apparently controlled burning is part of the management of the Serengeti) so the landscape was charred and the air was smokey, and the animals had mostly gone, so we had to travel far for wildlife viewing.
Even if the camp had been at full capacity and the landscape uncharred, I'm not sure it would have been that wonderful. The staff didn't really seem very experienced, there was not a friendly welcome or friendly vibe, and it did not seem very professional. We almost got a smile out of some of the waiters, but not from anyone else. The decor was advertised as 'out of africa' Edwardian charm, but it just felt like a bit of a second hand furniture store.

Once in a lifetime experience to lodge in a luxurious tent right in the bush. There are no fences so animals are free to wander the property and you are escorted by a ranger to and from your tent during dark hours. Flashlights are provided as well as a panic button on your headboard to call security in case of an unwanted animal. The pool was beautiful. The food was wonderful. The staff too notch. The tent was nicer than my house!

We enjoyed the two night stay here. This is a luxury lodge. The views are incredible. Get a tent with a view. Christina and Victor are amazing and were so attentive to our needs. We appreciate all their help. The food is absolutely fantastic. Sigfried the chef is awesome. The rooms are comfortable. There are bugs everywhere but they provide a spray. They spray the room as well. They have a bar as well. You can have morning breakfast on the porch and see views of the balloons.

Kirawira Serena Camp is by far the height of luxury when staying in the Serengeti. The lodgings consist of "tents" on raised wooden platforms with private balconies overlooking the Serengeti, and the interior includes such comforts as real, running showers, a four-poster bed, and proper desk and dresser. Given that Kirawira Serena Camp is located at the top of a hill, the views are unbeatable. The facilities include a pool and jacuzzi, a fire pit, a main tent with an old-world glamour feel, and a dining tent. The food was sophisticated and delicious, and everyone was exceptionally polite and eager to accommodate any requests we had. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend staying here!

Do not miss. A very beautiful lodge on a promontory offering an extraordinary view of the Serengeti. Very beautiful park, swimming pool, bar. Everything is beautiful and warm. The restaurant is also up to par with the place and the tent rooms are magnificent, large and well decorated. Each has a beautiful terrace with a view! An enchantment! In addition we took advantage of the start of the wildebeest migration. Incredible show!

We coordinated with our tour company. When they make the reservation and you check in the guide will ask for a tent with a view. Its an absolutely brilliant view.
Hello Alemant84,
It depends on the package. If the package booked is accomodation rate only, that is on full board basis meaning accomodation and meals are covered. However park fees are an extra charge and will be paid at the entrance of the park. This is also applies to the game drives, you will be charged for each game drive.
If you booked the Airpackage, this is inclusive of the flights, airstrip transfers, accomodation on full board basis as well as the game drives. However, the park entrance fees are to be paid seperately.
Hope that helps, do let is know if you need further clarification.

We were on safari through Orbridge, so transportation was included. I would not recommend driving yourself and I'm not even sure that's a possibility. We flew Delta/KLM into Arusha. There is a grass runway airstrip a couple of miles from the Camp that's served by regularly scheduled single engine, 14 passenger planes. We flew out of one of these airstrips on the return trip to Arusha. I recommend booking a local tour agency for travel to these remote camps and lodges. Safari Legacy was the operator under contract through Orbridge and I recommend them highly. You can search for Safari Legacy using Google.
There are more places to choose from in the Kirawira area.
