We only visited Vrchlabi on way to Spindleruv but we ate and drank in Cafe in this hotel and we were amazed at the sevice - very kind and helpful...prices reasonable, food good...excellen tiramisu dessert.
We stayed there for about a week. Made the reservation directly with Tom Tryzna, the owner, who was very nice and did the most to make us feel welcome. I recommend to talk to him directly since he is more responsive to phones than to emails. Nice breakfast, nothing was missing there, and the rooms were clean and well equipped. The rooms do not have air-condition yet, which at August can become a problem, but Tom went out and bought fans for all of our rooms (we had 3 family studios and a double bed room) to make us feel better. He also allowed us to use his washing machine and dryer for our laundry.
I booked 2 nights in this hotel while I took part in a race in Vrchlabi. The hotel has a parking lot in the back. Plenty of space for everybody. The reception of the hotel is in the cafe. I was checked in by a very friendly young lady who explained me how to get to the room as it was in a different, but adjoining building. The room itself was fabulous. For the price you pay you get a very luxurious room. It is very spacious, supermodern and has a superb bathroom. So you can get to the main building via a bridge or via the street. I loved the bridge they built between the two buildings. The breakfast was very generous for the size of the hotel. I had a very good breakfast that helped me through the start of the day. I will certainly return her when I will be again in Vrchlabi.
I have spent one night there during my business trip. Nice and clean rooms, lovely staff and great breakfast ...I can fully recommend this hotel.stright in city centre, nice contryside . large rooms, stylish
I've spent one night in the hotel. I was even allowed to leave room in the afternoon to be able to get a shower after running race without any extra charge. Employees were very nice and service was excellent.
We stayed 4 days at "U Zvonu" are were completely happy throughout. Upon our check-in we only found a Czech speaking receptionist. Though we offered her German, English and French as option we were not helped but in Czech language. We managed fine with hands and feet and the few words the receptionist spoke in German/English. The rooms were very spacious, with up-to-date furniture and very clean. Located between different ski areas we found Vrchlabi to be ideal to stay. We had different memories of it (from 15 years ago) and were a bit disappointed to find Vrchlabi rather deserted of people. (This might have been because of Easter holidays too.) We found a few cute souvenirs at the local tourist info.
The place is fine, the rooms comparted to czech standart are fine also, warm inside, nice shower area, this is a skiing resort so not much of the time is spend in the rooms and most of the time you are outside skiing or walking around. Ive been on the business trip, so I only spend a night here. they serve nice coffee and sweets downstairs, the cafeteria is open to public also so its nice and busy downstairs with people chilling and having some coffee. dont remember the name of the restaurant Ive been, its a new french place in some small shopping arcade, the food was fantastic. They serve nice breakfast in the morning too, plenty to choose from. The bowling place is not far from the hotel too, 50m down the hill with some bars, pool, and sauna I think. An OK place to be. Room Nr. 3 I think is the biggest, Ive been in room number 4, which is fine. P.S if your hungry there is a kebap place opposite :D…
Clean very comfortable, right in town, nice breakfast...sometimes the scrambled eggs were too under cooked for Americans, maybe a request for eggs that more well done would help. We stayed there twice and some things that needed fixing were reported but never fixed. This is a small family operation. It is important to remember those of us from the USA...we are not at home! Some of these formerly Eastern Block countries have had a recent history that has had a real impact on how they have learned to operate. This is a magical part of the world.
Stayed in June 2012 just for one night when I attended Krakonosova 100 race. This small hotel right in the town is nicely reconstructed, everything was new, clean and spacious. The reception staff was helpfull and always smiling. Breakfast was a buffet and standard for a three star hotel. We also had a dog with us and there was no problem with that. Next year If I come for Krakonosova 100 I will stay at U Zvonu again.
The hotel and rooms are beautiful, but the maintanance and services within hotel needs to be improved.
