We had an excellent stay with you.
As for catering, at this time of year, only one of the 4 restaurants was open but the dishes there are varied and complete, from breakfast to dinner, there is something for all tastes and all diets. food.
We also spent two days in the desert which allowed us to see very beautiful villages and meet beautiful people. The guide Youssef was able to make us appreciate this stay and immerse us in the history of the villages visited and the countries of the Maghreb.
Finally, thank you to the entertainers who remain respectful, do everything they can for the entertainment and as far as we are concerned, they understood that our favorite activity was relaxing 😜, they knew how not to come and bother us 🤣
A quick word about the outdoor swimming pool, it is indeed very large and enjoyable even if cold at this time of year. A little more deckchair and the repair of broken tiles to avoid getting damaged would be a significant plus. As for the indoor swimming pool, it is sufficient but like the rooms and common areas, some work and a little modernity would give you a more beautiful appearance.
The location of the hotel is ideal, on a magnificent beach and close to outdoor cafes and restaurants.
Finally, thank you very much to Fethi for her patience and listening. He knew how to make us appreciate this hotel and respond to our requests.
In summary, as we were able to tell you during your stay, the 5th star is largely earned in terms of the warm and professional welcome from the hotel staff whoever it is and its location, still a little effort in terms of decoration and modernity in the rooms and common areas and the 5th star will be well within your reach ☺️
What is certain is that we will come back for your welcome and your smile and probably in July ☺️
Nabila and Fouad.
We were very impressed by their intention, whether it be the waiters in the room (we keep an eye on everything, always pleasant and very helpful), the ladies of the housekeeping (clean rooms, very good smell, little drawing on the beds, always the smile) and then more special attention to our head bartender (of the pool), Khaled... never met such an attentive man while traveling!!!!! smiling, friendly, full of attention, seeks the total comfort of his customers, makes cocktails with particular attention to each person (beautiful decor), seeks the comfort of each person, thanks again to him who brightened up our aperitif time.
All the bar servers are also very helpful of course!!
The location of the hotel is great, store in front, taxi parked in front of the hotel all day to go out, the view is superb (swimming pool and sea at the same time), clean beach.
We ate very, very well, a few dishes come back but there are plenty, enough to change, afterward they are so good that we enjoyed them all week. Special attention to your meatballs...lol delicious......
We also liked the fact that there was an outdoor terrace for dining.
Very clean hotel, always staff cleaning, whether it's the hall, the toilets, the swimming pool..... perfect.
Very pleasant, clean, on the seafront with a very beautiful beach, it has beautiful spaces and well-maintained facilities (outdoor and indoor swimming pools, performance hall, Moorish café, etc.).
The room was spacious (actually 30 m2) with a king size bed, beautifully tiled bathroom in the traditional colors of Tunisia, blue and white, and a small balcony.
Housekeeping was properly done every day.
Certainly, the weather is milder than in France, but it is still a little cool in Djerba in February, making swimming impossible, both in the sea and in the outdoor swimming pools, making people appreciate the indoor swimming pool, actually heated to 29°C as advertised (unlike other hotels which do not keep this promise), as well as the daily 1/2 hour aquagym classes very correctly provided.
The food was OK, despite a few shortcomings (no butter, no yogurt worthy of the name...). However, a big thank you to the Chef, very friendly, who makes a delicious Mouloukhia (typical Tunisian dish made from koreta leaves), and who was kind enough to make it for us outside of the Tunisian evening! But we would also have liked more Tunisian cakes: once a week is not much...
A big downside for the drinks, with a very limited choice in the All Inclusive formula, with its fruit juices and horribly sweet cocktails: it's sugar and flavored water that is almost undrinkable. Diabetes guaranteed in the medium term!
The entertainment, as with most hotels, is of lower quality, even if we can see the team's desire to do well.
All staff are respectful, caring and friendly.
I recommend this hotel, despite its few shortcomings, which fully deserves a rating of 4/5, for its good services and its good quality-price level (680 euros for 9 nights/person, flight included).
P.S.: Tunisia is a tourist country and what is shocking upon our arrival is the quantity of bottles and plastic bags and other rubbish which litter the sides of public roads and the surrounding fields. It is a spectacle of desolation. What a pity!. Cities and municipalities should look very seriously at this problem which gives a bad image of Tunisia.
The hallways looked old and the carpets were very dirty. The employee who took us to the room didn't know where to turn on the light. The room looked good, and everything was always okay with the cleaning of the room as well, except the balcony could have been cleaned better and the peeling railing didn't look good either. Unfortunately the room could not be locked, at least there was a ball on the outside. We would also have appreciated bottled water in the room on arrival.
The restaurant looked nice with outside seating. Regarding the food we were quite disappointed, pretty much the same thing every day, little choice, food mostly had no taste, hardly any fruit. Coffee was only available in the restaurant in the morning and was not very good. Another minus of the restaurant was the mostly unclean tables and the poor availability of clean cutlery.
Bottled water to take away was only available at the indoor bar. The pool bar only had local tap water in a barrel. At both bars you could pay extra for extra drinks, I don't recommend mixed drinks they are money wasted. Drinks at both bars were often hot.
The advantage was the rich animation programs.
We always found free sunbeds by the pool and it was a short walk to the sea. Unfortunately, the sea was mostly full of algae, which also accumulated on the beach. Vendors walk along the beaches shouting at you and offering various goods and services, such as camel or horse rides.
They don't have prices listed in the hotel shop, so you never know if you'll get ripped off.
The big minus was the intrusiveness and insistence of some of the staff.
The day before we left, we went to the front desk to arrange breakfast due to our early departure. The prepared breakfast was a mockery, old bread, a slice of cheese, half an egg and some vegetables. At the start of our stay, the reception left our passports, which would not be returned without a reminder.
The Club hotel, ideally located on the edge of a magnificent beach equipped with deckchairs and straw huts, allowed us to have a very pleasant stay in Djerba.
Our room was very clean, spacious and with a view of the swimming pool which I recommend without hesitation. Bathroom with bathtub and hairdryer and separate WC.
The catering is simple but varied with starters, hot dishes, Tunisian specialties, grilled meat and fish.
Many daytime and evening activities are offered for adults and children.
Also possibilities for excursions for an additional fee to be booked directly with the local correspondent Sonia de voyage 2000.
I strongly recommend the excursion in the desert despite the 580 km over the day, with Ksar Ghilane and its sand dunes + optional quad and camel rides
Experience not to be missed!!
Then Matmata (Star Wars filming village) and visit to a troglodyte house.
And for well-being Spa available with multiple choices of à la carte treatments and massages.
French and International Clientele
Direction listening to the various problems, thank you to the director for his intervention.
Beautiful beach, clean and equipped
Pension shops attractive if you are good negotiator
Cons:
Avoid rooms on the 1st floor, aging, damaged, mattresses hard as stone
Swimming pool relatively dirty. We don't see the bottom and wonder if the pump is working. Always full of hair and sand in the background.
Problems with Towel Flights
Carpet very stained and swept in the morning. No vacuum cleaner.
Dirty mirrors throughout the Inn including 1 glass with the same fingerprints throughout our stay
Lift broken down regularly
Staff at the reception not all nice and inappropriate reflections.
Evening entertainment always in the same style (dance) never real shows in 15 days.
Damaged pool chairs and dirty mattresses
Cleaning done daily but quickly done.
Little or no entertainment at the mini club, this may be due to the lack of children
Amphitheatre under construction
Music a little loud in the evening (in the theater) but very well soundproofed rooms
Very (too) large presence of people from the East and also from Portugal with no way to live and no respect for staff and other guests.
Uninteresting Italian restaurant (nothing Italian except name)
In my room I discover 1 large and 1 small towel torn, for a 4 star it is not very normal, and a big water damage above the bathtub. So I will show the towels at the reception and a lady tells me come tomorrow morning to show them.I put them in the wardrobe to store them,and the next day at 10am I look for the towels everywhere in the room they were no longer there.I ask the maid who tells me that the manager told her to take them,how the staff allows themselves to open the wardrobe and take the towels!!! Being angry I will talk to the person in charge of the reception who takes it lightly but seeing, that I continue to say my anger he calls the housekeeper who answers me: you are lucky to have a service for clean towels, it is a fill!!! Unacceptable to know that we open the cabinets where there is your laundry, that is our privacy.
Really shameful for a 4 star!!
Rooms&cleaning
Rooms were supposed to be clean but from the start they were dirty. On my bed sheets there was a weird looking stain, on the floor a ball of hair, on my friends’ toilet wall there was a splash of urine. Woman who was cleaning didn’t even knock she just barged in whenever she wanted to. Cleaning rooms in this hotel consists of sweeping floors, exchanging towels and throwing away trash from bins without exchanging garbage bags.
Food
Food wasn’t good. It was the same everyday. Everything tasteless. If you don’t tip at table they won’t even clean tables&won’t give you cutlery.
Animators
Animators were ok, they tried being funny and entertaining. But one of them was very rude. The guy with dreadlocks mocked me and told me I’m lazy because I didn’t want to participate in some “game”. I felt judged, because I wanted to REST on vacation. Why someone like that works with people? Beach
The beach was the only thing that was great during a stay. It was very close to the hotel and beautiful. But the mood breaker are people who take care of camels - they beat them and they are neglected.
- spacious room, cleaned every day, with fridge, but safe paid separately;
- animation...meets the minimum requirements;
- reception staff: prefer to speak French rather than English;
- beach: care was taken to clean the sand, warm water (some sargassum);
- swimming pool: large, warm (we've been to colder SPAs), with bar and 10 meters from the beach;
- relaxation pool at the back, smaller, very calm;
- indoor pool: closed while we were there;
- pool bar: TI drinks all day and between 4pm and 6pm there were pancakes, sandwiches and cakes;
- food: ok… there was grilled food every day, pizza with fresh dough, good Tunisian food (couscous and “stews”), salads,… not very varied, but you won’t go hungry; the weakest thing was breakfast: little fruit, lots of cake;
- IT has national drinks, imported ones have to be paid separately. We didn't pay for the imported ones, as the national ones comply. One detail: Coca Cola and Fanta were original and always opened bottles at the time of consumption.
- There is a shisha bar (paid separately), but with TI mint tea, very good.
- Towels: with deposit, but always changed free of charge;
- Leaving the hotel on foot is safe, there are shops (slightly inflated prices compared to Midoun or Houmt Souk but nothing shocking), cafes, restaurants. We went out for a run, to browse the shops, to take a taxi, to go to the ATM. There is the possibility of taking a “cart” for a short trip (we didn’t do it so I don’t know the prices);
- Good Wi-Fi within the facilities. In the pool, you have to choose the location carefully.
