We consider our week-long stay at this hotel to be a success, but there were a few imperfections and shortcomings that resulted in us giving it a maximum of 4 stars; it certainly does not deserve 5. The food was average, pancakes and waffles for breakfast, even if they were fresh, were still cold. For breakfast, the only option was omelettes or fried eggs, for which there was a long queue. Lunches and dinners are edible but very monotonous, the same rice or pasta and grilled meat cutlets or fish. In the evening there was a different type of buffet every day, but everything was very similar, the only difference was the Egyptian-style dinner. The snacks at the papyrus bar are simply breakfast rolls with cheese inside. It was the first time we encountered such a poor offer of snacks, which meant that the dinner load was always huge. Additionally, there are no drinks in the dining room during lunch and dinner, so you had to ask several times to get a coke or other drink from the waiter. Also the food was absolutely amazing, after a week I almost wanted to eat something.
The rooms are clean, but the bathrooms need a little refreshing, for example the wall in the corner next to the trash can is all dirty black.
Water is delivered to the room every day, the mini bar with coffee and tea is replenished, and towels are changed.
There was no problem with space at the pool or on the beach, especially at the adults-only pool and at the dining room. The main swimming pool with a swim-up bar has been crowded since early morning.
The drinks are good, cola drinks are poured from original bottles, beer straight from the bottle is a big plus. The bartenders were smiling and helpful, as was the entire hotel staff. They are not pushy and do not just wait for a dollar, which sometimes happens in this country. The beach is wide and long, relatively sandy, with only pebbles here and there. There is no entrance to the water directly from the shore, but halfway down the pier there is a descent to a place where there is no reef and you can swim. The reef is beautiful, there are lots of fish and other creatures, but you have to be careful when climbing the ladders because you can get hurt. The lifeguard is on constant watch and does not allow you to stray too far from the pier.
Overall, the hotel was okay, but the food could have been more varied, and the sunbeds and umbrellas could have been replaced with newer ones because some of them were broken or so old that you couldn't lie on them. We wouldn't go there again, but if someone doesn't mind limited food, they'll definitely find it 😊

RECOMMENDED.
We WILL BE BACK.
If you want to spend a relaxing, quiet, healthy, comfortable and fun holiday, go to Novotel Marsa Alam Beach Resort.
The value for money, together with the efforts made to achieve this result by each operator of the structure, of any role, means that it awards a 5 star rating to the Resort.
I spent the Christmas week at this wonderful and huge tourist village, where I was pampered in all respects, from the reception employees to the housekeepers to those of the beach to those of the restaurant, with a real availability from the deputy director of Novotel Marsa Alam Beach Resort, the public relations manager Lucy, the reception Mohamed, the Ibrahim restaurant to the Mahmoud cleaning.
Varied and basically international menu of excellent quality.
Payment for the holiday is possible either in cash or by credit card.
Beautiful coral reef.
Good security.
Good cleaning of the rooms.
The only note I feel like doing, especially for the good of the structure, is to keep the beach slightly cleaner, perhaps with a simple and periodic raking of the sand.

We chose the Novotel in Marsa Alam, among other reasons, because it belongs to the Novotel chain, so the service is at the highest level... but it wasn't entirely like that. The hotel is located in a complete remote area, about 1 hour from the airport (desert all around). It consists of a number of two-story terraced houses with rooms overlooking the sea or swimming pool or the garden. The area is large - you can walk along the sidewalks. There are 3 freshwater swimming pools on site, including one heated (a useful option in the winter months). The beach is gravel and sand, huge - long and wide, with numerous umbrellas and sun loungers included in the price. There is a coral reef along the beach, approximately 20 m wide, with access to the sea from a long jetty where you can snorkel and dive. The rooms and bathrooms are large, modern and cleaned every day. The bed was huge and comfortable. Flat screen TV. Quite fast WiFi almost throughout the entire area and on the beach. There are 3 bars on the premises serving drinks and local drinks included in the price or original Western ones for a fee. There is also an a'la carte themed restaurant (but we didn't use it). There is also an amphitheater where an entertainment program is presented in the evenings. Entertainment team - committed to work and takes care of guests (volleyball, boccia, yoga, football and others). Gym - unfortunately open only from 10.00. Overall, the hotel's infrastructure is 5 stars.
Now the minuses: Restaurant: Of course, you could eat enough and no one starved, but 5 stars require a little more - the selection of food was not large. I have already been to 5-star hotels and the variety of food was twice as great. I rate desserts the worst: fruit (orange, bananas, figs) and cake - the same cakes made of puff pastry every day). Bread - small selection and not fresh. There were three coffee machines in the restaurant and each time one of them was out of either coffee or powdered milk. Drinks for lunch and dinner were ordered only from the waiter, which sometimes took a long time or were not delivered at all. Sometimes plates or cups were missing. There was also plain water in the dispenser for drinking - but warm. And then there are these birds - especially on the terrace, there are a lot of sparrows, maybe it's nice, but we had to be careful not to leave the plate with food even for 1 minute - 30 sparrows immediately ate our breakfast or pooped in our plate.
In general, the advantages of the hotel are: beach, infrastructure, rooms, cleanliness, heated swimming pool, entertainment
Minus for the food and service in the restaurant

The rooms are quite OK however..... we are used to traveling and are rather positive in our opinions but this time it is not possible!!!
This novotel is not 5 star, the huge refectory because it is more of a refectory than a restaurant is very noisy, no soundproofing, you queue endlessly to get food... if you can eat, because the quality of meals is poor and repetitive. Above all, avoid raw vegetables if you do not have a “concrete” intestine otherwise you are good for the tourista.
Go directly to buy your medication at the hotel pharmacy if necessary because a consultation would cost you between €550 and €1000!!! I am not joking.
To avoid the noise we took our meals outside, on the terrace.
There, no tablecloths but tables never washed between customers and the same for the placemats. (put to disinfect in the evening it seems).
As for the cocktails, they are served in glasses from the canteen!!
you are all inclusive but have to pay for a small bottle of fresh fruit juice.

The swimming pools are extremely noisy, in fact there are many children, which I do not criticize, but not a single swimming pool dedicated to them with games.

Finally, check that there is no light at the bottom of the entrance door to your room: we had the unpleasant surprise of finding a snake in the entrance to it!!
I would like to point out that management was responsive on this point, fortunately.

We spoke with other travelers who felt the same way as us.

We stayed at the hotel for a week, the hotel is sold as a high-service hotel. Upon arrival, we were immediately directed to have lunch, after which we were immediately given rooms. At the reception, they offered rooms with a view of the pool for an additional fee, after refusing, we got rooms with a view of the garden, as we ordered. Since there were four of us, we got rooms next to each other, with the possibility of entering each other's rooms :) The rooms are large, clean, everything worked, they made all kinds of figures out of towels. There is animation, they tried, there were discos in the evenings. The reef is beautiful, the only downside is that it was windy all week except for one day. However, we saw turtles, stingrays and many other beauties :) Lifeguard on the beach, polite, takes care of the bathers, helps to get out of the sea. Food.... Well, I don't know, it was quite tasty, but the choice is really small, at lunch, one kind of meat, one kind of soup, really, not like in a high-class hotel :) At dinner, a little more, but not a particularly big choice :) There is where to try, due to the lack of food, queues often formed. From 13:00 to 15:00 they serve ice cream by the pool. The only snacks I saw were muffins and spring rolls.

Great hotel in every respect, despite being full the staff was always very friendly and helpful.
The food at the restaurant is varied and well-kept and the waiters, despite always being in a hurry for many people are always friendly and fast. I went to the Spa and Maria is very young, but really kind and competent.
I was staying in a room with a beautiful sea view, the furniture is nice and the room was cleaned with care every day. I also found some nice decorations on the bed made with towels and flowers.

The pools were a bit crowded, but the lifeguards were very attentive and friendly, always available, kind and very patient even with the most rude customers who pretended to find immediately a place where and how they wanted, maybe at two in the afternoon!
The beach is less crowded and even there the lifeguards are really super friendly, helpful and patient, although sometimes some guests are really rude and rude. A praise to their patience, even on the pier, to explain to people why access to the sea was sometimes closed, not by their will, but for safety because, especially in the morning, some days the wind was strong. Really many compliments to everyone, because I would not have been able to be so polite to such rude and irrational people.

If you want to see a real show every time you snorkel, this is the place.

Very good also the bartender of the beach bar, Mohamed, who despite the heat and the many people always has a joke and a good word for everyone.

We had the area late and were allowed by the reception to shower in another room before leaving, as ours had already had to be allocated after Check-out for the large turnout.

The structure and outdoor spaces are very well cared for and full of flowers.

The only drawback, if I have to find one, is the lack of toilets in the beach bar area, but the kindness and professionalism that I found make up for every small defect.

Congratulations and thank you, I will certainly return very gladly.

The hotel and its staff surprised us absolutely positively. Hospitality and helpfulness are very important here. The hotel staff speaks a wide variety of languages, including German. Here I would like to mention Mohamed Hassan from the reception.

The rooms are a bit "worn out" but always very clean. Also the food was very good and also at the buffet always warm and something for everyone. The entire hotel complex is very well maintained and in the pool area were always free sunbeds to find.

We used the holiday mainly for diving. The dive center right in the resort is highly recommended and also the house reef beautiful. Already while snorkeling you can marvel at the colorful underwater world.

However, if you arrive for a bathing holiday, you should note that you can only enter the (already deep) water from the beach via a jetty, because the reef starts directly on the beach.

For us a very successful stay, we would love to come back.

I have just returned from a holiday at this hotel and we really enjoyed it. Top entertainment, a big hello to Carlotta, Kail, Jamaica and Berta. Truly magnificent and very clean swimming pool area. Greetings also to all the cleaners in block 23 who made us find their sculptures with towels in the room. In the entire resort there is not a single piece of paper on the floor and everything is kept really well. Excellent cuisine, spicy (but it suited us very well) and really friendly dining room and kitchen staff. The reception was also excellent, we managed to make ourselves understood with our. little English. Even the sea area with its pier has its charm. For swimming there are small natural pools with really clear water. I highly recommend going to this hotel and I will definitely return because it is truly excellent for resting.

Whenever I return to El Quesseir my choice is always Novotel: here I found everything that makes me feel at home. From the first reception, in security and reception, the friendliness of all the staff stands out, ready to respond to your every need. When I needed to check out later or change the length of my stay, I always found plenty of willingness to accommodate my needs. Special thanks to Taha and the two Mustafas, thanks for your patience! In addition to all the other staff at the reception! The spaces of the structure are well distributed. There is a good choice between using two swimming pools, obviously crowded in summer, or the beach. Even in high season lifeguards are very careful in ensuring the safety of all guests, both in both pools, and in surveillance at the pier. The barrier here is truly a spectacle! The staff members take great care to respect this natural heritage, inviting each guest to respect it. Also, for any need, you can turn to Hamed, the area manager, who is always helpful and friendly. At the beach bar you will be welcomed by Mohamed, the barman, very good at proposing new cocktails and welcoming you with a smile even in the most intense moment of work. As for the restaurant, I find the offer very valid, ranging from typical Egyptian cuisine to other types of international cuisine. In addition, for any intolerance or specific request, the chef will satisfy every guest. At the restaurant the waiters are super friendly and smiling, despite the considerable influx at certain timeslots. The rooms are always clean and you are often pampered with nice decorations on the bed. The spa and beauty area are also well maintained and the staff good and welcoming. What about it? If you want to enjoy the wonders of the Red Sea in a hospitable and familiar atmosphere, Novotel is the right choice!
