4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Situated right in the heart of the Riga old town this is a pleasant hotel. Rooms are clean and well equipped and of a decent size. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Friendly helpful staff with a courtyard garden restaurant just outside the front door.

+ the central location of the hotel. Meters from the Daugava river and 5-10min walk to the Old Town. + the character of the hotel and the decoration - average staff - outdated rooms - average breakfast - tiny pillows on the beds - poor cleaning service

As a budget hotel traveller I accept that some amenities will never be the same as higher priced hotels. But during our group stay this hotel's customer service was appalling and very disrespectful, plus we were left questioning their health and safety standards. With just one exception all the staff we encountered made us feel that guests were just a... More

It is a complete mystery to me how this hotel has deserved 4 stars and such a good ranking. Sure, taste is subjective - maybe there are people who like fake antique furniture, kitschy paintings and Mongolia style bedrooms. But even if this style might find lovers, some essential elements of a good hotel were completely missing. The card reader... More

The hotel is the perfect spot, in the old town, just a few meters from the river, just a 300meters from the bus station. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast is ok, nothing special. The hotel looks like a littlle bit dated but is a beautifull hotel with nice details which reminds the old glory... More

this hotel is in the very best location in Old Town known as Vec ( old ) Riga. It is a historic hotel very well done. The price was great. It includes breakfast generous hours. The hotel is like a historic museum. The gardens are beautiful. The prices at the bar and the resturant seem fair for the area. Our... More

Stayed there few nights in June. The location is very central, breakfast is good, service was also responsive. We had an issue with a room on last floor, where we literally could see the sky through window on a top of the room. After complaining that we can not sleep at night and the light wakes us up early morning,... More

This was a wonderful hotel......grand in its earlier days, but so well kept up....looked "elegant" to us!!! Perfectly located near the old town activities, safe to walk out at night and near all the little food shops. My friend from Lithuania who works in Riga a lot was surprised we were staying at such an "upscale" place knowing our love... More

Stayed here in July with our 5 year old. The hotel is set inside a larger building that shares a courtyard with a restaurant/huka bar. The restaurant stays open late, which causes noise until 1-2 am. It wasn't a big deal for us, but it might be for someone else. Breakfast is ok. Old coffee machine needs updating, as the... More

One-night stay in room 310 - a small, dark and depressing room, barely wide enough for the side-by-side single beds that had been pushed together to make a 'double' - tired, old, dark-wood furniture, with storage limited to a single (coffin-width) wardrobe - two dark stains on the carpet near the bed - a few measly sachets of shampoo etc....
