Very good location in the old town of Riga. Hotel itself is kind of a museum. Didn't enjoy the old carpet floors in the room. Average breakfast, we didn't try the hotel restaurant or bar. Staff is mostly nice and helpful.

Our first impression was not good as our room felt like walking into a fridge; the radiator was not working and the porter brought us an antiquated oil - filled radiator which would obviously not work when we left the room and took the key out. Bearing in mind that the outside temperature was minus 12 this was unacceptable!!! Our... More

staff was ok, not very friendly though. the internet was pricey, and reception was not too good. had a lot of problems with the wifi. rooms could have been bigger. out bathroom was occupied by this giant toilet, but otherwise the rooms were just ok. breakfast was average. the location was good, in the middle of the city.

The room was clean and warm, with a nice shower. But only one towel and no tea making facilities. Breakfast was typically continental and it took a while for certain items to be replenished (eg bread). Missed breakfast often because of lack of choice.

Hotel is located in old town of Riga. Easy to find and access by car or by bus. From inside it looks more like a mansion, instead of a hotel. Lots of different restaurants and pubs are nearby. For cars they have a possiblity to park them to a parking lot which is ca 4min walk from the hotel (costs... More

I went to Riga for a three night stay. Although with friends, I was the only one staying at the Hotel Garden Palace. I was really pleased with my choice of hotel. The room, although quite small was plenty big enough for one, with, what I would say, was a 1metre bed, a great size single. The staff were polite... More

Stayed here beginning of December and have nothing to complain about what so ever. The hotel is in a great location, right opposite the museum of occupation (which is closed until 2016), 60 second walk to St Peter's and another 30 seconds to the Kiwi bar which is open to 5am and shows all different sports. Room was cleaned every... More

Hotel is very central and the staff friendly, but breakfast is quite poor (if you're a late riser, a lot is gone and not replaced). Rooms are basic but fine for the price. Hotel is a bit threadbare... Was a great hotel when it was built, I'm sure.

Nice and helpful staff but the hotel lack charm. #419, was rather large and comfortable but dark. The lamps were too dim to be used for reading. Breakfast was included. On our first day, a Sunday, everything was in order. On the following Monday, when we arrived thirty minutes before closing, most of the food trays were empty, not even... More
