Stayed here in July with our 5 year old. The hotel is set inside a larger building that shares a courtyard with a restaurant/huka bar. The restaurant stays open late, which causes noise until 1-2 am. It wasn't a big deal for us, but it might be for someone else. Breakfast is ok. Old coffee machine needs updating, as the... More

One-night stay in room 310 - a small, dark and depressing room, barely wide enough for the side-by-side single beds that had been pushed together to make a 'double' - tired, old, dark-wood furniture, with storage limited to a single (coffin-width) wardrobe - two dark stains on the carpet near the bed - a few measly sachets of shampoo etc.... Four star hotel should offer deluxe experience, but i cannot see how deeply outdated bathrooms, dirty rag instead curtains, really hard and totally worn out bath towels, two not comfortable and years old pillows could do that. As well, i know that a four star hotel should offer things like cotton swabs, showercaps and other cosmetic products, but all there... More

Hotel has great location. It is exactly near Blackheads house. Room was clean, bathroom as well. Staff was really polite and helpful. Breakfast is very simple, but it was testy enough. Would recommend this hotel to stay if you are visiting Riga.

Location excellent. Rooms dated with no storage space apart from a wardrobe, so it meant living out of the suitcase. Take your own pillow for comfort. The breakfast was passable but long queues for coffee as the machine was inadequate and needed replenishing frequently.

Arrived late at night, but receptionist (Phil) was helpful and informative. Room was a good size, clean and very comfortable beds. Quietest hotel room I have ever had!! Within easy walking distance of old town and all attractions. Lots of stylish features around the hotel which added to the charm. However, breakfast was the weak point of the stay. The... More

Very disappointed with this hotel. Riga was lovely and we had some delicious food but not at The Garden Palace. The breakfast was just awful- very poor selection of bread, cold fried and scrambled eggs just left to sit and not even kept warm and something they called bacon which was undercooked and cold as well. Absolutely no fresh fruit... More

Great location but not much else. Well placed for all the old town sights and restaurants. Tinned fruit and margarine for breakfast and not enough tables for the number of guests so did not eat any other meals there. Chambermaid was good however.

I was there with two friends of mine. At the check in desk the credit card terminal did not work on Friday, so they asked us to take cash out at the closest ATM and pay in cash. When we refused, they said it was going to work on Sunday, it indeed worked Sunday morning, but not in the afternoon.... More

Stayed here 22-25th of April. Brilliant location and couldn't fault the place for the cost. The rooms are dated, but I think it adds to the charm of the place. Others have said towels were dirty, but ours were fine and changed daily. The breakfast on our stay was good, lots of choice and was being refilled. I heard online... More
