Central Hostel opened its doors to guests already in 2005. In the course of time it changed from a small hostel with some rooms to a relatively large hostel in two floors, where are 22 rooms. It can accommodate 57 guests. The rooms of the hostel are divided into apartments. There are 3 to 4 rooms and one to two bathrooms in every apartment. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, two common rooms, a party room and a parking place available to our guests. Central Hostel is an 8-minute walk from the Central Train station, 14-minute walk from the Coach station and 15-minute walk from Old Town.

Stay here when you stay in Riga, simple as that. Clean, well maintained, homely. All accommodation should have female management, the difference becomes palpable. The place is also quiet although it is a convenient distance from the center. If you come by car, accommodation with parking is a necessity. The Central Hostel is a good option in Riga. It is located in an old block of flats and not so easy to recognize from the outside. The neighborhood is not super pleasant, but otherwise the location is ok, 10-15 min walk to the old town and less than 10 min to the railway station. They serve free breakfast with a lot of fresh ingredients which is a great advantage. Rooms and common facilities are cosy and clean. The wifi works fine. And, moreover, this hostel is cheap. I would go again.

I had a very nice stay in Central Hostel.. I felt like at home. The lounge is like your own living room, cosy and comfortable and so is the kitchen. I was impressed about the selection of herbal teas and there was a coffee maker with real coffee.There was free internet in the lounge and in the hallway and I could use it any time I wanted. No queing. I would have liked to stay longer.

Extremely rude night shift administrator.
I stayed here at night on January 11th-12th. The administrator at night was a guy who harassed and yelled at other guests for any miscellaneous reason: "you must turn off the light in the toilet", "you must close the kitchen door". Well I agree that there are some rules in the hostel and everybody should comply. However I don't agree with the tone and disrespectful behavior of the administrator. I will never come back here again, Neither I advise to you.

Our room was near the common area and was very noisy. The bell sound is high and can ring every time during the night (read 3 and 6 o'clock). The girl at the reception desk talked at a loud voice well after 11 p.m. that is the time they ask to the guests not to make noise. The room was not very clean. The breakfast is ridiculous. You have to make your tea or coffee and cook and wash your dishes in a tiny kitchen with just one kettle and there are some food like vegetables, bread and jam on a small table in the same little room, where only 4 people can stay without pushing each other. I have stayed in a lot of hostels in different countries and for breakfast there was always a prepared buffet. I could have accepted something like that for a much lower price.

Cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Breackfast room is tooo small. Can only fit 2-4 people.
Hostel is not clean (dust growing in lamps, bathroom, rafters).
Beddings are not confortable with tongs that try to enter in your back.
And by the way, Central Hostel is not so central.

Ok, this is not a hotel. But for a hostel it was absolutely amazing! We got a warm welcome, a clean and lovely room and a great location for very nice price. The breakfast was free too but I have to suggest people bring their own food too as they only have the bare minimum. The fridge was shared so I accidentally drank someone's orange juice. I'm sorry. I have already booked another trip to the town and this hostel. I'm loving it way more than the 4 star hotel I would stay the first time!

Well we stayed 2 nights, room is ok but the breakfast is NOT as extraordinary as the other reviews. Very small table in the kitchen for breakfast... and the door at the 2nd floor is super noisy....
