Located far from the historic center of Riga. The breakfast was acceptable, but the restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner. The only eating options were at a shopping center about a 20-minute walk away down some very seedy streets. You have to use a pedestrian underpass to cross the road. We were advised by a local to avoid this at night. The hotel itself is in bad repair. There’s lots of bare ductwork in the lobby. I thought that perhaps this was on purpose (industrial chic), but it’s so shabby and unsightly that the only conclusion you can come to is that they ran out of money to replace the hanging ceiling, so just left it. On the top floor is a lounge all decked out in 70s velour. It would have been fun had someone cleaned it since then. We were there during a heatwave. When we turned on the a/c nothing came out. We mentioned this to the receptionist, who just shrugged her shoulders. I got the distinct impression she didn’t want to be there either.…
Stayed in suite 3 nights, not that much a suite quality, but spacy and clean and comfortable. Though... that miniature TV on the wall made us question, why? Can you put any smaller TV in suite? Hotel location is in the middle of large traffic jams so be aware that getting anywhere takes A LOT of time and your Bolt Food also can't catch you in time. The breakfast arrangement definitely did not meet the expectations. Very strict Covid restrictions - had to eat in our room - and breakfast quality was bad. Coffee was cold and in these small cups you can only take one to your room, so you have to run like 7 times up and down to get proper amount of morning coffee! The hotel accommodated some sports team from Slovenia or smth who decided to PARTY all night so that nobody could sleep and the hotel DID NOT DO ANYTHING!! Just let the loud party go one all night until we said we'll call the police. Does that sound normal? Overall - the hotel looks nice after renovation and the price is reasonable. Hopefully someday one can have a normal buffet breakfast every morning not only when there are too many people to serve..... what's the point of these restrictions anyway? Less Covid threat when more crowded dining room? Ha ha.…
This hotel was great. Stayed for 2 nights but it was pleasant. Staff was very helpful and nice. Room and bathroom were spacious, clean and warm considering it was very cold in September. It is situated in a quiet area. Unfortunately, it's far from the center and a little bit difficult to access. If you have transportation organized I would recommend this hotel.
Cool looking Art Deco hotel. However, the inside needs some work. Dirty hallway carpets. Unreliable elevators, we had to wait forever for one to stop for us that wasn't already full. Bare rooms, small bathroom that lacked storage. Could have been cleaner. The food was OK. The neighborhood was not great, some boarded up houses nearby.
We are travelling with 6 year old child. It was very clearly written when we booked the hotel. We arrived at the hotel pretty late.. Our room was very small without extra bed like we had booked.. Next day we got the bigger room with extra bed for child. Next disappointment was that from the hotel restaurant we didn't get any food since the restaurant is only for groups?!? Whaat?? Also, the tap water is not recommended for drinking and they don't give any complimentary drinking water so prepare yourself with drinking water before arriving to hotel.. All and all, we stayed for four nights and it was basically disappointment after another.. Not recommended..
Hotel has tidy and calm rooms, everything is good enough, nothing special, nothing wrong. Nice place. Good breakfast. Pet friendly. Not far away from Old Town, near bus and tram stop. By taxi 5 euro to the city center.
The hotel is good for a night or two not for longer. The walls are thin that you can hear your neighbour talking via skype with his wife and children. Wifi is not so good, I can’t work in my room, have to go to the caffeteria on the 1st floor or reception and work from there. Through the wall I’ve heard that my neighbour also struggled with wifi LOL. Food is good and the staff is very polite and nice. I think a strong 3/5.
very good impression upon arrival , I don't speak Latvian but my wife does so therefore the receptionist and her chatted like old school buddies which I really liked and the receptionist treated us like long lost pals , the hotel room was very nice and the whole ambience was very relaxing …...
The hotel is very good in terms of value for money. Everything is up to standards for a very low price. Location is very good in order to get to the city center - takes about 10minutes with tram. Also nearby is a shopping mall.
Right on a mainroad into town. Shoping facilities nearby. Good food for the price. Hotel people friendly but receptionists could not speak English or German, which is surprising for Latvia. Hotel very crowded with many groups. Restaurant and bar staff was helpless to handle situation. No seats for so many people. My room was ok, but several people from the group had problems with their bathrooms. Also some of the room cards were not properly programed. But one receptionist did handle it quickly and in a very friendly and personal way. Hard to complain about the staff, because they tried their best. And were very friendly.
