The location is fantastic. It is in amongst many restaurants, shops and bars and of course a lot of important landmarks are within a short walking distance and the Central Market is only a 10 minute stroll away.

The staff here are friendly and efficient and the rooms were cleaned during our stay and the necessities and clean towels provided for without having to make a request. The Wifi worked perfectly and the TV seemed fine for those that don't want to explore the city. We stayed in room 304 and considering all of the bars nearby we had a great sleep so they have protected guests as best as they could. A tip for this success? Close both windows.

Breakfast was plentiful and had plenty of choice to cater for all. It was such a nice touch when the staff had a packed breakfast for us both due to our early flight home and that showed this hotel cares about their guests.

The airport transfers were hassle free and they provided a friendly driver and it was good value for money too. Definitely an enjoyable stay in a great location.

I just stayed 15 nights at this property, so I feel I know it intimately!
The location is excellent except for one item: it is directly adjacent to Paddy Whelan’s pub, and several nights a week the pub gets super loud, usually starting about 6 PM, but ending by 10.30 or so.
If you can live with that, everything else is “smooth sailing.”
Breakfast has a wide variety of options, but a word to the wise: when the hotel is full, it can be tough finding a place to sit, especially on weekends. So it’s advisable to get there either early or late.
While this is certainly a boutique hotel, for Americans, it is similar to a Hampton Inn; for Europeans, it is similar to an Ibis property, with a good breakfast.
The WiFi was exceptional- I never had a problem.
Two tips concerning services you may require.
There is a small shopping center, exactly 400 steps
from the hotel entrance. If you go through the
main entrance, 20m to the right is a terrific grocery
store - Rimi. It has everything one could possibly
need.
If you need to get money exchanged, do not use
any of the exchanges in Old Town: they advertise
“No Commission”, but they end up ripping you off for about 13%! Instead, if you go to the Freedom
Monument and pass it, on the right hand side,
heading in the direction of the clearly-visible
Radisson Blu Hotel. Cross the first street, and go
90 steps. You will see a red sign saying, “Marika.”
The street address is: Brivibas Bulvaris 30. They
offer a very reasonable exchange. Not a 10 minute walk from the Old Town.
The front desk staff were helpful. Georgs and Armands were most friendly, and Armands went
out of his way to help with a particular issue.
Overall, this is a fine property, just keeping in
mind the noise issue from the adjoining bar.

Quite competent hotel in a very competitive town area, good value for money. Great staff, but too much faceless rooms. Breakfast is ok, still some products quality could be better. Coffee isn't good at all. One of main reason to stay there - Draugi is one of a very few hotels in Riga's Old Town having private parking (and car parking is a problem in this part of town). Still 6-7 parking places is not enough for 72-rooms hotel, so you need to be fast to get the parking place in private parking there. Some rooms are placed close to vibrant night clubs so are noisy at night.

Stayed for one night.
Arrived in the evening by car.
The guy in the reception could not find our reservation that we had made thru Hestias website on the morning. Fortunately his colleague was probably more experienced, she found our booking and helped us to get checked in.
It is mandatory to wear face masks indoors and you have to present the vaxination certificate.
We had also reserved a parking spot in the hotel yard. The entrance is a bit hidden, the lot itself is quite small, also more suitable for smaller cars. As we got the last free spot, manoeuvring in the lot was a bit tricky.
Got the room to the street side. It was small and worn out. Air conditioning was turned into max and room was like freezer. Heating function did not work. Turned the thing off and went to town looking for a place to have dinner. So the location is good if you are interested spending your time in the Riga old town.

It was Saturday night with warm weather, people were on the streets and pubs. The noise from the street is heard inside the room, despite the double windows, so if you`re light sleeper, bring earplugs.

The next morning when we went to have breakfast, the hall behind our room door smelled like sewerage, it was quite bad.

Breakfast was not bad but not also anything to be proud of.

Unfortunately it was not the most pleasant stay for us.

If you`re looking for a hotel in the Old town, the location is good, but please consider that hotel itself is worn and tired, noise from the street at least on the weekends is annoying, parking in the yard with bigger car difficult. I`m guessing there's better choices available for the same price range.

Each time I visit Rīga I chose this hotel. The beds are comfortable and rooms are very clean. I can say cleanliness has been their consistent emphasis from my numerous stays here. Breakfasts are included offering a varied selection and generous portions. The hotel staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Centrally located in Old Town is the main reason I pick this great hotel. On my last trip I spent all 10-days of my quarantine isolation here but was free to take daily walks.

The hotel is in a fantastic location - very central and within walking distance of everything. We had a family room with 4 beds and it was a great size and never felt cramped at all as it had high ceilings and even a sitting area. Breakfast wasn't great and the food was barely warm but coffee was good! I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to be centrally located. Its also so near to bars and restaurants but beware if you are travelling in February they are hard core on Covid. Only seat 4 to a table, need to wear a mask everywhere and be prepared to show your covid pass and passport wherever you go. On one occasion we were not allowed to enter a supermarket without the correct "medical" mask! Though none of this should put you off visiting as its a beautiful country and very cheap too.

With all the international travel restrictions in place, we decided to get our hotel stay fix right in our own backyard. We chose Hestia Draugi primarily for the great rate and high ratings and we were not disappointed.

The location is right in the heart of old town and very convenient. The hotel decor and furnishings in the room were a little old fashioned for my taste but certainly not bad or worn out in any way. Everything was clean and the room was spacious so that was most important. Basic amenities were all there- modernish tv, good wifi, mini fridge, hot water kettle, decent towels, decent bed and pillows and blanket. Staff were all very nice as well.

I would have to say the bonus was the breakfast. Due to restrictions, breakfast was delivered to the room. Choices are made the night before on paper and handed to the front desk. There’s ample options to select from. When we got the food, the portions were generous and tasty. For the discounted room rate, the breakfast alone almost pays for itself!

4 stars for this hotel level might be stretching it a little but it’s definitely a 5 star in value. I would certainly look to visit again.

Trip advisor hestia Hotel draugi

We stayed here for 5 nights with friends and enjoyed our stay.

Good central location which was within walking distance of lots of eateries and most tourist attractions.

There's a lot to do and see here and we managed to do it all on foot apart from one trip on the tram.

It is a little noisy in this central area on a friday night, but the hotel kindly left 2 pairs of earplugs in the room for us which really helped.

Rooms were fairly small but comfortable with hot water and a comfortable bed, although one of our party found the bed a little hard. The reception was happy to provide an extra quilt though so we were fine.  They also gave us a map and some tourist information which was really nice of them.  Storage in the room was fine for a 5 night stay.  Excellent WIFI in the hotel.

Breakfasts were good with a good selection including cereals fruit, cold meats and cheeses etc.

I could have done with a greater variety of cereals though perhaps bran flakes but mostly fine. The coffee machine is very good.  They had a good variety of pickles. The toaster was very slow so there could a bit of a queue but not a major problem.

Reception staff were friendly and sorted out any small issues we had.

There was a small safe in the room.

Overall very good.

Stayed for 4 nights, the hotel has a policy of your room being like your own apartment unless you specifically request a room servicing by placing a card outside the door (a sustainability thing possibly). Very friendly reception staff. Don't think I ever saw the on-site restaurant open, except for it being used as the breakfast area (breakfast is decent and caters for most national preferences, could probably do with more toasting facilities and fresh fruit juice). Located in the heart of the old town, so easily available for respite from the cobbled streets or to drop off your retail therapy items. The weekend in the old town attracts a lot of 'stag do's', so there can be some noise all hours from a couple of 'open all hours bars' located at the front of the hotel from Friday afternoon through Sunday (I had an early day trip on the Sunday and upon walking out of the exit door at 07:30am I was surprised to see a rowdy beer drinking session still in full swing at the bar directly opposite, as well as some people lying in the street worse for wear). Thankfully from Monday to Friday afternoon this is not really a thing...

Delightful hotel in the historic center, just a few minutes from the church of San Pietro and the house of the blackheads but also from the other main attractions of the city (which can be easily visited on foot without the need to use public transport). The bus station it can be reached from the hotel with a walk of about 15 minutes or with Bolt at a very low price. The rooms are comfortable, quiet and clean and the staff was available for any eventuality. The strong point of the hotel in my opinion is the breakfast, complete with everything and of excellent quality.

Hello! Sorry for late reply. Yes. There are cups, soucers, teaspoons, glasses, a cattle, tea, coffee and sugar. We had to buy bottled water though - didn't risk using tap water.
