After a poorly slept night in a hot room at the neighboring Wellton Hotel, we booked the next night from here. The air conditioning worked well and could be easily adjusted.

The suite was stylishly decorated. There are two suites. In 2015, we stayed in suite #607 which is somewhat bigger than the other one #608. Also, #607 has a sauna and a round jacuzzi.

Our stay had good value for 142 euros including breakfast which was pleasantly calm and had a good selection of food.

Hotel is over all clean, nice, even luxurious.
The room, we made a reservation for a superior large double room. It was much more than we expected, since the price wasnt high.
Room was clean, air conditioning was perfect, also in bathroom.
What is important for us,,, the bed. It was perfect with its extra big and extra pillows.
Really good night sleep.
Breakfast was normal breakfast, nothing to complain. Hotel was very careful about COVID19 safety. You had to reserve time for your breakfast, not to have too full dining room. Also food was portioned, so that customers cant be in any contact with it before eating. And it didnt mean that you only get one portion.
I would definitely go again.

My wife and I spent 3 nights here and were very happy with our choice of hotel. Firstly, the staff are a credit to the hotel, always pleasant and welcoming, providing us with information about lots of things to see and do in the lovely city of Riga.
Our room and all facilities were excellent with a well stocked, reasonably priced mini-bar. As mentioned by a previous review, the room was very warm on arrival. The aircon was not operational but the radiator in the room could be turned down manually. This brought the room temperature down to a more comfortable level.
Breakfast was plentiful with warm and cold options. The only minor improvement I would suggest would be to offer a toasting option.
The bar was lovely and a nice place to sit and chill after pounding the cobbled streets if Riga all day and the bar staff, like all staff members here greeted us with a smile and provided excellent service.
Location is great, opposite the central market (via an underpass out of the hotel turn right) and at the southeast corner of the old town.
Will certainly choose this hotel again if we return to Riga.

We've been several times in Riga and this time decided to take this hotel and their huge Suite(price was reasonable). Unfortunately from the start, things start to go downhill. They don't have parking there and roadside parking was 72€/for 2 nights! They said that there is also parking in shopping mall few minutes away, but of course that pays too and it's not so nice to walk from there on a rainy day. When we get to our room, there was a nice (gas)fireplace, but they said that it was decorative only, because it causes a fire alarm? We had a nice (steam)sauna and big jacuzzi also, but jacuzzi could be used only like a bathtub, so no bubbles! Which raises a question, why you install expensive jacuzzi and advertise it, but you can't use it? There was also a sign in the table(check my pics) that said "if you like breakfast in your room, please inform the reception". When we request that, they said that it isn't possible > why you print a paper like that to the table, if it's not possible? Well something good also, location is good near Old Town, bed was comfy, room was huge with 2 TV's and toilets for example. Wi-Fi was free and fast and despite breakfast wasn't that special, it was free.

Dear Halkidis, First off all let me apologise for inconvenience you experienced while staying with us. It is very disappointing to us, that we did not provide you with exceptional service. Yes hotel does not have private parking. Hotel is located in city center and we have only city parking around us. We have posted this information in all websites which allow us to do so. City parking costs 2.50 per hours during day hours. At night from 20:00-8:00 and on Sundays it's free of charge. Unfortunately it seems you experienced more faults with us than gains. Fireplace indeed is decorative and we do not allow to put real fire in it as it will set of alarms. We are working on issue with jacuzzi and hope it will be fixed as soon as possible. Once again, please accept our apologies. At the beginning of pandemic indeed we offered breakfast in room, bet when we changed it all information was removed from room. Apparently this was unnoticed by us. We hope that despite this unfortunate situation you will visit us again and we will show you, that there is more "yes" than "no". Kind regards, Hotel manager. Alisa Ratkevica.

This hotel has all the attributes needed for a city break in Riga, the hotel itself is modern with some nice features and the room whilst small was more than satisfactory for my needs as a solo traveler, couples may wish to request a larger room - ie pay more.

The staff are pleasant polite and professional and I enjoyed some interesting conversations over a beer at the bar with the staff.
My only minor gripe is no draught beer only bottles which are nice but expensive in comparison most bars in Riga. (€6)

The location is fantastic and close to the Old Town which is where it all happens in Riga!

This was a very enjoyable trip for myself and the hotel the City of Riga and Latvia in general is brilliant.

I would recommend to anyone.

Wonderful hotel. Nicely designed and clean. Extremely centrally located. Good choice for breakfast and very child friendly. The only downside (which was a biggy for us) was that the noise level and vibrations from the trams going by from 5-6am are a bit unbearable. After one night of no sleep, asked if some other rooms are quieter and were told that there aren’t any available and that I cannot expect no noise when staying in a very central hotel.
They offer earplugs complimentary, but the vibrations cannot be cancelled out by earplugs.
Otherwise cannot fault it in any other way. My little one was very excited to get a welcome pack and a rubber duck as a gift.
When speaking in English, seemed to have a better reaction from some stuff than in Russian.

Dear Anna, Thank you for choosing Metropole Hotel and for the highest mark of our Hotels' location, cleanliness, design and service! We are happy, that your child was excited to receive Metropole gifts! The Metropole hotel is situated in the heart of Riga city centre, so probably it could be some street noises from outside and not always our double windows drown out all the noise. Unfortunately, with vibrations, which are going from the trams we are not able to do anything – reconstruction by City of tram lines near our Hotel during this year is not planned. With great pleasure we are happy to change rooms upon our guests' request, taking into account our availability. We are expecting our guest wishes and doing our best to make our guests feel happy! Thank you very much for sharing your experience! You are always welcome in Metropole Hotel! Kind regards, Metropole Hotel Team

We stayed at this hotel in 2 visits. Room for the 1st visit facing the other building, but it’s quiet even right next to the lift. Thus, we requested a room facing the street for our 2nd visit. Room was bigger but a bit noisy as you would hear the sound by trams. Anyway, rooms were comfortable, bedding and mattress firm and bathroom water pressure strong. Location was super. It’s walking distance if you arrived by airport bus no. 22 and also to the bus station. Old town was very very close and easy walking to all places. Breakfast was good as well. Staff were friendly and polite.

This hotel is very well-located near the railway station, so it is walkable from there if you take the bus from the airport. Our room was comfortable and quiet, and we were able to leave our luggage before we checked in, since we arrived early. The breakfast was excellent, with many choices. It is easy to walk to the main attractions and historic center from the hotel. We would stay again if in Riga!

Exceptionally friendly staff, excellent breakfast, nice room, good btahroom, good value, perfect location close to train station and right at the entrance to the Old Town, walking distance to Freedom Square and Monument, excursion boats and public transport. Nice touch: You can borrow umbrellas from reception (fortunately, in two weeks in Riga, it only rained once). Kept my suitcase for 4 days, before I came back from Finland.

Fantastic hotel! When you walk in to the impressive lobby you are met with friendly reception staff who could not be more helpful. The room was a great size with a fantastic bathroom (extremely high standard!). Tea/coffee making facilities provided in the room with a well stocked minibar. Breakfast was amazing - mixture of hot foods and cold meats etc with Prosecco available should you wish! Hotel is within walking distance of all main attractions. Would definitely recommend.

Yes, there is. The parking lot is practically 'round the corner, but it is shared by several hotels and thus has a limited capacity, so I would recommend to book in advance.
